  • How to go to particular Item in IEnumerable

    Hi, I have Ienum which contains number Data inside it. Attached the snapShot of Viual Studio, Enum that Contains Data: Just to brief about the above image, eLevelData is the IEnumerable variable, in which I have my data .     Let's say you had a string test = 'wow, hello, how, are, you, doing' and you wanted full_list = ['wow','hello','how','are','you','doing'] i know you would start out with an empty list: empty_list = [] and would create a for loop to append the items into a list i'm just confused on how to go about this, I was trying something along the lines of: for i in test: if i == ',': then I get stuck . . .

    I am working with MVC 3, Razor views and EditorFor templates. From my reasearch this is because the context has been pulled out due to the foreach loop, the loop shouldn't be necessary. I want to achieve:- <input name="BillingMatrix.BillingRateRows[0].BillingRates[0].Rate" id="BillingMatrix_BillingRateRows_0_BillingRates_0__Rate" style="width: 20px;" type="text" value="0"/> If I change the BillingRateRow View to:- @model WIP_Data_Migration.Models.ViewModels.BillingRateRowViewModel <tr> @Html.EditorFor(m => Model.BillingRates) </tr> It will throw an InvalidOperationException, 'model item passed into the dictionary is of type System.Collections.ObjectModel.Collection [BillingRateRowViewModel] but this dictionary required a type of BillingRateRowViewModel. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Now, if that is true, why doesn't the loop just run continuously? I mean, even if you were to divide 0 by 10 then that would still extract a number. If the user was to input "50607", it would first cut off the "7", then the "0", and so on and so on, but why does it exit the loop after removing the "5". Wouldn't the response after the "5" be the same as the "0" between the 5 and the 6 to the program?

    I am currently using find() and first() method to select the first descendent element from each of the <div> elements that contains the parent class. But I find this quite cumbersome since find() method would produce a set of matched elements before the first element is being picked. Example: http://www.uri.com/foo -> http://www.uri.com/foo/ I added the following redirect to the server properties: redirect_1: from=/foo url-prefix=/foo/ and this ends up in a loop... Several other configurations also didn't work :-/ I'm using glassfish v2.1-b60e.

    My doubt is that if the len(list) calculates the length of the list everytime it is called or it returns the value of the builtin counter.I have a context where i need to check the length of list everytime in a loop, likelistData = [] for value in ioread(): if len(listData)=25: processlistdata() clearlistdata() listData.append(value) Should I check len(listData) every iteration, or can I have a counter for the length of the list.

At the end of each record I need to clear my string variables but I read that someString = @"" actually just points to a new string & causes a memory leak. What is the best way to handle this? Should I rather use mutable string vars and use setString:@"" between iterations?

  • Works on debug but not release

    I have a thread that sets a value to true when it is done. Until then I wait: while(1) { if(done[0] == true) { break; } } This code works just fine in Debug but in Release it stays in the loop forever even though the debugger clearly says that it is true and not false. Why would this not work? Thanks

    I am initialising a StringBuilder as follows: StringBuilder builder = new StringBuilder("Symptoms are "); After this I loop through a list and add each string item to the end using foreach(var item in list) { builder.Append(item); } An example item would be something like "headache" but once i've appended it to "Symptoms are " and called builder.ToString() it shows: "Symptoms areHeadache...etc" as opposed to "Symptoms are Headache...etc" Why is it ignoring the space?

    I have a dynamically generated select with some options and it shows the options fine in normal browsers, but its empty options in IE. Maybe you had some of you would've had a similar experience and could figure this one out. The weird thing is, if I alert the html of the option just after the getDiff() function, it shows the value filled out. And it I put the getDiff() function in the for loop where the options are generated, it fills the values and shows them in IE, just not the last one. I'm calling getDiff() outside the loop for optimization, and since I can add the values later after all the options are generated. Well at least I thought I could, since it works on Firefox and Chrome.

Is there a way to do that automatically (let's say inside a for loop) or do i have to type manually this instruction for each image i want to include?
