• Simple wxPython Frame Contents Resizing - Ratio?

  I have a wxPython app with one frame and one panel. On that panel are a number of static boxes, each of which has buttons and textboxes. I have just begun reading about sizers, but they seem like they might be more than what I need, or it could that they are exactly what I need but I don't know how to use them correctly! The frame currently opens at 1920 x 1080. If the user drags the bottom right corner to resize the app, I just want everything to get smaller or larger as needed to keep the same size ratio. Is this possible? Thank you! edit: additional info: I used wxPython 2.8 and Boa to construct the GUI. I am contemplating trying another gui ide. So after reading some more about sizers, I am thinking about doing the following: add a gridsizer and basically divide my window's elements into rows and columns, then set each row and column's size as necessary until I achieve the original layout. Then I guess set the rows and columns to resize correctly? Is this a decent idea?

I think there is some mess with charset code/decode but never figured out. The SQL' table is in "utf8_unicode_ci" format and the column in "utf8_general_ci". The content-type of the page is <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> Thanks for help me!

• Does Microsoft Access use the PK fields for anything?

  Ok this is going to sound strange, but I have inherited an app that is an Access front end with a SQL Server backend. I am in the process of writing a new front end for it, but... we need to continue using the access front end for a while even after we deploy my new front end for reasons I won't go into. So both the existing Access app and my new app will need to be able to access and work with the data. The problem is the database design is a nightmare. For example some simple parent-child table relationships have like 4 and 5 part composite primary keys. I would REALLY like to remove these PKs and replace them with unique constraints or whatever, and add a new column to each of these tables called ID that is just an identity. If I change the PK and FKs on these tables to more managable fields, will the Access app have problems? What I mean is, does access use the meta data from the tables (PK and FK info) in such a way that it would break the app to change these?

• How do I set streetView in my mapview

  I an working on an android project whereby i need to set my map to zoom in and show a more detailed view of my map, like the streets of where i want my coordinates to triangulate.   I was looking at the answer of this question regarding multiple generic types in one container and I can't really get it to work: the properties of the Metadata class are not visible, since the abstract class doesn't have them.   I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but I'm at my wit's end. I'm trying to display 2 form fields inline, but with the label for each field on the top.   Hello, We have an application structured roughly like this: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <ScrollViewer> <Canvas x:Name="canvas"> <StackPanel> < Button /><Slider /><Button /></StackPanel> <custom:Blob /> <custom:Blob /> <custom:Blob /> </Canvas> </ScrollViewer> </Grid> Each Blob consists of 1 or more rectangles, lines, and text boxes; they are positioned anywhere on the canvas. If I print the document using the LayoutRoot: PrintDocument pd = new PrintDocument(); pd += (s, pe) => { pe.PageVisual = LayoutRoot; }; pd.Print("Blobs"); ... it is like a print-screen -- the scrollbars, the sliders, the blobs that are visible -- are printed. If I set PageVisual = canvas, nothing is printed. How can I get all the blob objects, and just those objects, to print? Do I need to copy them into another container, and give that container to PageVisual? Can I use a ViewBox to make sure they all fit on one page? Thanks for any pointers....

• Visual SourceSafe (VSS): "Access to file (filename) denied" error

  Hi, can anybody help with the above SourceSafe error? I've spent hours trying to find a fix. I've also Googled the heck out of it but couldn't find a scenario matching mine, because in my case only a few files (not all) are affected. Here's what I found: only a few files in my project generate this error other files in the same directory (for example, App_Code has one of the problem files) work fine I've tried checking out from both the VSS client and Visual Studio another developer can check out the main problem file without any problems This sounds like a permission issue for my user, right? However: I found the location of one of the problem files in VSS's data directory (using VSS's naming format, as in 'fddaaaaa.a') and checked its permissions; everything looks fine and its permissions match those of other files I can check out successfully I can see no differences in the file properties between working and non-working files What else can I check? Has anyone encountered this problem before and found a solution? Thanks. P.S.: SourceGear, svn or git are not options, unfortunately. P.P.S.: Tried unsuccessfully to add tag "sourcesafe." EDIT: Hey Paddy, I tried to click 'add comment' to respond to your comment, but I'm getting a javascript error when loading this page in IE8 ("jquery undefined," etc.) so this isn't working. This is when checking out files, and yes, I've obliterated my local copy more times than I can remember. ;) EDIT 2: Thanks for the responses, guys (again I can't 'add comment' due to jQuery not loading, maybe blocked as discussed in Meta). If the problem was caused by antivirus or a bad disk, would other users still be able to check out the file(s)? That's the case here, which makes me think it's a permission issue specific to my account. However I've looked at the permissions and they match both other users' settings and settings on other files which I can check out.

• How to prevent the user from leaving the page

  Hey Everyone, I am currently building a registration site where if the user leaves, I want to pop up a CSS box asking him if he is sure or not. I can accomplish this feat using confirm boxes, but the client says that they are too ugly. I've tried using unload and beforeunload, but both cannot stop the page from being redirected. Using those to events, I return false, so maybe there's a way to cancel other than returning false? Another solution that I've had was redirecting them to another page that has my popup, but the problem with that is that if they do want to leave the page, and it wasn't a mistake, they lose the page they were originally trying to go to. If I was a user, that would irritate me. The last solution was real popup window. The only thing I don't like about that is that the main winow will have their destination page while the pop will have my page. In my opinion it looks disjoint. On top of that, I'd be worried about popup blockers.

• Why are changes to classes ignored after dom changes?

  I have a price grid that uses relative positioning to move a field around, beneath a box with: overflow: hidden;. In this is field, there are absolute-positioned boxes containing prices. When this box is hovered, the matching values above and left of the will change color. In order to achieve this, a class is toggled using jQuery. This initially works. However, after the grid is moved, the class change doesn't affect the block above the grid anymore. In the Chrome console, i can see the class being added, but it's css-styling isn't applied. No other styles for the element have changed. I am 100% sure there is no other style-rule influencing the element, it just stops responding to the change in class after the DOM has been altered. Can i 'refresh' the DOM somehow? • Wrong values reported by pyPDF for various box regions

  Using pyPdf, for most files I get matched results concerning various box's dimensions compared to what Acrobat reports. However for some files I get different values reported by pyPdf and Acrobat, like: pyPdf: artBox: 595.3 x 841.9 bleedBox: 595.3 x 841.9 cropBox: 595.3 x 841.9 trimBox: 517.3 x 754 Acrobat: artBox: 439.35 x 666.13 pt bleedBox: 439.35 x 666.13 pt cropBox: 439.35 x 666.13 pt trimBox: 439.35 x 666.13 pt I thought it's units issue, but then ratio between widths and heights doesn't match also, not mentioning trimBox mismatch Correct results are those reported by Acrobat of course. Does someone know why is this and is there a way I get correct dimensions by using pyPdf? Thanks couple of minutes later... After reading this question: Are PDF box coordinates relative or absolute? I figured I didn't considered uper left corner to be different then 0 (zero). It turned out that box starts at 77.95 x 87.87, so if we reduce reported values of trimBox by this values correct result is obtained. artBox: 0 x 0 bleedBox: 0 x 0 cropBox: 0 x 0 trimBox: 77.95 x 87.87 Other boxes seem with misleading values or I misinterpret them. • Query distinct list of choices for Django form with App Engine Datastore

  I've been trying to figure this out for hours across a couple of days, and can not get it to work. I've been everywhere. I'll continue trying to figure it out, but was hoping for a quicker solution. I'm using App Engine datastore + Django. Using a query in a view and custom forms, I was able to get a list to the form but then I was not able to post. I have been trying to figure out how to dynamically add the choices as part of the Django form... I've tried various ways with no success. Help! Below are the two models. I'd like to get a distinct list of address_id to show in the location field in InfoForm. • PHP class to C# class?

  I work for a company that makes application's in C#. recently we got a customer asking us to look in to rebuilding an application written in PHP. This application receives GPS data from car mounted boxes and processes that into workable information. The manufacturer for the GPS device has a PHP class that parses the received information and extracts coordinates. We were looking in to rewriting the PHP class to a C# class so we can use it and adapt it. And here it comes, on the manufacturers website there is a singel line of text that got my skin krawling: "The encoding format and contents of the transmitted data are subject to constant changes. This is caused by implementations of additional features by new module firmware versions which makes it virtually impossible to document it and for you to properly decode it yourself." So i am now looking for a option to use the "constantly changing" PHP class and access it in C#. Some thing link a shell only exposing some function's i need. Except i have no idea how i can do this. Can any one help me find a solution for this.
