    I want to use the openoffice chinese fonts, eg AR PL SungtiL GB, but the xelatex tells me that it is an invalid name (as shown below). It seems like the font name has spaces and so it doesn't recognize it? How should I get around this? (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/syntonly.sty)kpathsea: Invalid fontname `AR PL SungtiL GB', contains ' ' I am using the xeCJK package in XeTeX 3.1415926-2.2-0.9995.2 (TeX Live 2009/Debian) on Ubuntu.

  • Using FFMPEG to reliably convert videos to mp4 for iphone/ipod and flash players

    I need to convert videos for use in both a flash player and the iphone/ipod touch. I'm using the following batch script with ffmpeg: @echo off ffmpeg.exe -i %1 -s qvga -acodec libfaac -ar 22050 -ab 128k -vcodec libx264 -threads 0 -f ipod %2 This always outputs an mp4 file, and I can always play it on my PC. The videos also seem to play fine on my iphone 3GS. But with some input files it won't work for older iphone versions (3G and iPod touch).     It's 2009 and we still all hold on the JavaBeans despite all their flaws, mostly because of the tooling support which we wrote in our own blood. But now we have method chaining and internal DSLs and some pressure to replace or extend JavaBeans with DSL classes. Has anyone an implementation that implements PropertyDescriptor for a DSL (where the getters and setter use the exact same name as the property) and a way to hook that into the Java RT so I don't need to create them all by myself?

    Suppose the following code is executed on the 22nd of August 2009 (a Saturday) Calendar c = Calendar.getInstance(); c.set(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK, Calendar.SUNDAY); c.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH) will return 23. I'm interested in the conditions is would return 14 (last Sunday, rather than the next Sunday). Are there any rules associated with the direction Calendar will roll the DAY_OF_MONTH/YEAR when DAY_OF_WEEK is set? If so what are they?

    I installed Python 3.1 yesterday on my Windows Vista PC, and was surprised to find that the version of IDLE is 2.6.4, for "Python 2.6.4 (r264:75708, Oct 26 2009, 08:23:19) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)] on win32" I was hoping to use IDLE to investigate some of the new features of Python 3...   • Get HDD (and NOT Volume) Serial Number on Vista Ultimate 64 bit

    Hi all. I was once looking for getting the HDD serial number without using WMI, and I found it. The code I found and posted on StackOverFlow.com works very well on 32 bit Windows, both XP and Vista. The trouble only begins when I try to get the serail number on 64 bit OSs (Vista Ultimate 64, specifically). The code returns String.Empty, or a Space all the time. Anyone got an idea how to fix this?   • Creating a bundle - What's going wrong?

    Hello everyone, I've got a relatively simple one here. I'm making bundles to live inside the Resources folder of my application (and possibly in the Application Support folder). These bundles will contain template information for the data the application handles. I've constructed a bundle, with extension "booksprintstyle", and the directory structure is up to spec. I have an Info.plist all set and I think I've filled in all the values I need to. Do I need to change something in my App to have these folders-with-extensions recognized as bundle files, or am I missing something in my bundle structure? I noticed that some bundles have a file called PkgInfo; is that important?     Windows 7 has added on its Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Display setting, an ability to Magnify the text and other items by 125% or 150%. When that is done, some of the contents of the Forms and Dialogs of my Delphi 2009 program get cut off. What changes do I need to make to ensure that all my forms and dialogs will look fine under any magnification setting on Windows 7.
