  Hi all. I need to create a very simple image switcher that changes my images automatically. I have the following code: <div class="imgCarousel"> <div class="imgC1 left"><img src="/media/1614/1_1.jpg" alt="img1" /></div> <div class="imgC2 left"><img src="/media/1615/2_1.jpg" alt="img2" /></div> <div class="imgC3 left"><img src="/media/1616/3_1.gif" alt="img3" /></div> <div class="imgC4 left"><img src="/media/1617/4_1.jpg" alt="img4" /></div> <div class="imgC5 left"><img src="/media/1618/5_1.jpg" alt="img5a" /></div> <div class="imgC6 left"><img src="/media/1620/6_1.jpg" alt="img6a" /></div> <div class="imgC7 left"><img src="/media/1622/7.jpg" alt="img7" /></div> </div> Two of the above images should be switched automatically after a certain amount of time (every 3-4 sec.). This means that after 4 seconds, I'd like to change the image called /media/1618/5_1.jpg with another image. And after another 4 seconds, I'd switch back again. The same shold be made for one of my other images. How can I acomplish this with some jQuery?

• Simple but Customizable CRM?

  I'm trying to find a good Church Management System (ChMS). Essentially, a CRM for churches. My budget is about $0...so open source or in-house development is preferred (and by in-house, I mean me). I'm wondering if anyone could make some recommendations as to possibilities? I'm open to SaaS solutions as well. For those interested in more details...: I've looked at Zoho CRM and while I like it, they only offer three licenses free, an insignificant discount for non-profits, etc. I've looked at Salesforce's NPSF which is nice but almost too much for a small church. Additionally, its taking a long time to jump through all the hoops necessary to get the licenses. I'm wondering if some combination of Wufoo and similar SaaS apps. might offer what I'm looking for? I've looked at Google spradsheets...if only they had a db application. :P Its really pretty simple what I need...something to maintain contact info., to remember important dates, to keep dates, to schedule followups, etc.

• Simple Oracle File repository with folder hierarchy

  I have an application that stores large amount of files (XML and binary) in folder hierarchies. Currently the main method is storing them in file system or using a legacy CMS, which we want to get rid of. The CMS supports Oracle and a customer wants to keep the files in Oracle because of enterprise policies (backup etc.) The question is: Is there a simple implementation of file repository with folder hierarchy for Oracle? What I am looking for is a small .Net component or example code (PL/SQL and/or .Net) that would have the following methods: Create, Delete, Exists Folder CRUD file Move and potentially Copy file or directory Access to files and folders with paths like "/root/folder1/folder2/file.xml" Ability to get all the files and folders in a folder and potentially also the entire directory tree Tree traversal, getting the parent, all children etc. needs to be fast. I need the implementation in .Net, but if it was just the stored procedures, I could create the .Net calling code. I have pointers to generic articles for creating hierarchies in DB, so if I need to do it from scratch, I know where to start. What I am asking here, is there already an implementation that I could take without doing this from scratch? It seems like such a generic requirement... If the answer is a CMS, Document management system or such it should be Open Source or at least quite cheap (some hundreds / server) and it should be possible to deploy it XCopy - hopefully only couple of DLL:s. I do not need - or want - a full featured big CMS with dozens of dlls and especially not an msi-installation. I have tried to google this, but the words "repository", "CMS", "file hierarchy" etc. give so many answers, the searches are pretty much useless. Thanks, OPe

• Simple javascript/jquery append, remove question

  Hey guys, quick question. I have a div that on click will execute a jquery function onclick, and then replace the div with its opposite div which onclick will replace back to the first div just like the favorite function on this site. I am having a simple problem I hope someone can spot or explain to me it is not possible. The function works with the initial two divs that are served directly, but when I click on either of the original two divs, and the function executes and replaces the div with the corresponding div the replacement div does not execute the function. I have to refresh the page to get the original div, which is identical to execute the function. Is the div actually replaced on the page with append, or does it just visually show it? I have a few records for example, one with "another time test" and another with "last test of time" if i search "test" the first comes up but the second doesn't, and if i search "time" the second comes up but not the first. It is only seeing the last word of the record. what gives?

  I am trying to get a simple effect working in jQuery, and only have a few hours of experience with it, so have a lot to learn. Each pane however has a 75x75 image on the upper left, which is always visible no matter which pane is active (and it is this image that when hovered over caused the pane to open) - what I want to do is for the image on the selected 'pane', I want to drop the top margin down 10px, and then put it back to 0px when a new one is selected, i.e. so the selected panes image is always 10px lower than the other 5 images. I suspect this should be easy, but not quite grasping the syntax yet. Thanks.

• Simple iOS Get Request Not Pulling in Data

  I have a very simple get request that doesn't return data on my script. The script is fine when viewed in the web browser but the app does not pull in the data. Any other script works with this code in the app. I'm unsure of what to do because there shouldn't be a reason for this to not work. Please let me know if you need more information. • Very simple application fails with "multiple target patterns" from Eclipse

  Since I'm more comfortable using Eclipse, I thought I'd try converting my project from Visual Studio. Yesterday I tried a very simple little test.   Hello, I am trying to create a simple chat client using the red5 media server, but I seem to be having a slight hiccup. I am creating a shared object on the server side, and it seems to be creating it successfully. However, when I make changes to the object via the client (type a message), the SYNC event fires, but the content within the shared object remains empty. • Strange Play Framework 2.2 exceptions after trying to add MySQL / slick

  I'm working on a Play 2.2 application, and things have gone a bit south on me since I've tried adding my DB layer. Below are my build.sbt dependencies. As you can see I use mysql-connector-java and play-slick: libraryDependencies ++= Seq( jdbc, anorm, cache, "joda-time" % "joda-time" % "2.3", "mysql" % "mysql-connector-java" % "5.1.26", "com.typesafe.play" %% "play-slick" % "0.5.0.8", "com.aetrion.flickr" % "flickrapi" % "1.1" ) My application.conf has some similarly simple DB stuff in it: db.default.url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/myDb" db.default.driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" db.default.user="root" db.default.pass="" This is what it looks like when my Play server starts: [info] play - Listening for HTTP on /0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:9000 (Server started, use Ctrl+D to stop and go back to the console...) I am working on NetBeans 6.8 with Personal Glassfish 3.0 and I have installed on my system both the Java EE and the Java SE.   I was recently reviewing some code written by two different contractors, both were basic ASP.NET management sites. The sites allowed the user to view and edit data. Pretty much simple CRUD gateways. One group did their best to use built in ASP + AJAX Toolkit controls and did their best to use as many built in controls as possible. I found the code much easier to read and maintain. The other used jQuery and the code is heavily marked up with script blocks which are then used to build pages from javascript files. Which one is more common? The one that basically leveraged embedded HTML markup in scripts controled by javascript files screams readability and maintenance issues? Is this just the way of doing asp dev with jQuery? Assuming the second example happens a lot, are there tools that help facilitate jQuery development with visual studio? Do you think they generated the html somewhere else and just copied it in? • Simple database design and LINQ

  I have very little experience designing databases, and now I want to create a very simple database that does the same thing I have previously had in xml. Here's the xml: <services> <service type="writing"> <small>125</small> <medium>100</medium> <large>60</large> <xlarge>30</xlarge> </service> <service type="analysis"> <small>56</small> <medium>104</medium> <large>200</large> <xlarge>250</xlarge> </service> </services> Now, I wanted to create the same thing in a SQL database, and started doing this ( hope this formats ok, but you'll get the gist, four columns and two rows): > ServiceType Small Medium Large > > Writing 125 100 60 > > Analysis 56 104 200 This didn't work too well, since I then wanted to use LINQ to select, say, the Large value for Writing (60). But I couldn't use LINQ for this (as far as I know) and use a variable for the size (see parameters in the method below). I could only do that if I had a column like "Size" where Small, Medium, and Large would be the values. But that doesn't feel right either, because then I would get several rows with ServiceType = Writing (3 in this case, one for each size), and the same for Analysis. And if I were to add more servicetypes I would have to do the same. Simply repetitive... Is there any smart way to do this using relationships or something?
