• does a git repository have its own local value for core.autocrlf that overrides the global one?

  As per this question, I understand that core.autocrlf=true in git will cause CRLF to LF translations. However when I type : git config core.autocrlf I see: false However, when I stage modified files that are already in the repo, I still get these warnings: Warning: CRLF will be replaced by LF in File1.X. The file will have its original line endings in your working directory. My guess is that the repo copy of the file is already set to "autocrlf=true". Questions: A. How do I query whether a file or git repo is already forcing AutoCrlf? B. How do I turn it autocrlf off?

  Hi, when I'm trying to compile my c program it gives me this error warning: integer constant is too large for 'long' type which refers to these lines int barcode, a, b, c; scanf("%d", &barcode); a = barcode / 1000000000000; b = barcode / 100000000000 % 10; c = barcode / 10000000000 % 10; and the rest is fine. I know I'm not supposed to use int for such a large number, any suggestions on what I should use? if I replace int with double what should the '%d' part be replaced with then?

  Been trying to decide between using CodeMirror or Ace editor. I've been leaning towards CodeMirror, however there's one feature of Ace that I really like and that is how it does syntax validation. So as I'm typing there can appear a warning or error icon in the left gutter area beside the line number, and when I hover over it it gives me a little description. Is there any way to get this functionality in CodeMirror? Specifically, I'm using the css mode for CodeMirror. It'd also be nice to be able to add in my own custom validation. Thanks.

  It has come to my attention that a user has been trying to create an exploit through avatar image uploads. This was discovered when a user reported to me that they were getting a notice from their Norton Anti-virus saying "HTTP Suspicious Executable Image Download." This warning was referencing the user's avatar image. I don't think they had actually achieved anything in the way of stealing information or anything like that, but I assume it could be possible if the hole is left open long enough. I use PHP to upload the image files, and I check if the file being uploaded is a png, jpg, or gif.

  I have some code that uses the stristr function to extract data I need. It works, in that it gives me the results I'm looking for. BUT (you knew there was a but), it gives me this error message for every iteration of the loop: Warning: stristr() [function.stristr]: Empty delimiter in ... line 55 Like I said, the code works apart from this error. • Why do I have to give an identifier?

  In code: try { System.out.print(fromClient.readLine()); } catch(IOException )//LINE 1 { System.err.println("Error while trying to read from Client"); } In code line marked as LINE 1 compiler forces me to give an identifier even though I'm not using it. Why this unnatural constrain? And then if I type an identifier I'm getting warning that identifier isn't used. It just doesn't make sense to me, forcing a programmer to do something unnecesarry and surplus. And after me someone will revise this code and will be wondering if I didn't use this variable on purpouse or I just forgot. So in order to avoid that I have to write additional comment explaining why I do not use variable which is unnecessary in my code. Thanks

I mean I'd like to be able to manage the event of a user who is going to close the application but some activity is being performed so he/she shouldn't be able to exit. Here's the code I wrote. Namely, in the code below two commands both return the same two items File1.txt and File2.txt. But conversion to string[] gives different results, see the comments. Any ideas why is it? And an Email can have many Contacts through a Campaign. Each Contact-Email pair has its own unique Status (status1, status2, etc). Each Status (for a Contact-Email pair) will have its own User.   What design pattern might apply to logging? What is normally used in this type of situation? Any good tutorials? I am writing a client-server application using C89 and gcc 4.4.4. I now need to implement some logging feature that will display log messages on the screen as well as log to a file. However, I don't want to display all log messages (warning, error, critical, unrecoverable, debug, etc). Maybe I can set so that it will display just errors and nothing else. For example, the user might not be interested in the debug messages on the screen output.

  In my code I have a class called 'ProfileShareViewController', In which I have imported another class I have created called 'OwnProfileData', And I have also created an Instance of that class (class = OwnProfileData) as a property Of 'ProfileShareViewController' and synthesized it (instance called 'OwnProfile'). In another class I have called 'EditProfileViewController', I have imported the 'ProfileShareViewController', and now I am trying to change a property of the OwnProfile object from the ProfileShareViewController within the EditProfileViewController class. For some reason that doesn't work. I have Tried typing: [[ProfileShareViewController ownProfile] setName:@"Ido"]; (The property I am trying to set is Name, and as it is synthesized in OwnProfileData, I am using 'setName'). This doesn't work and I get the warning: "No known class method for selector 'ownMethod'. Any Idea as for why that might happen and how I can fix this? Thanks for your comments!
