  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Find and Replace ALT-F not working

    I'm using a demo of Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and I've notice that they no longer open the Find and Replace in a separate window. The problem with this, at least on Windows 7, is that I can't use the normal hotkey shortcuts like ALT-F because its being intercepted by the main Window and brings up the file menu drop down. Is there a fix for this?

    Usually my Wacom Bamboo tablets screen area (Area which cursor can go using tablet) is as set - One (1280x1024) monitor. However, when I run any Adobe Product, such as PhotoShop or Illustrator (CS5 or CS4), and it is the active window, my screen area reduces to around 400x400, effectively making itself absolutely useless. If another program is the active window, it works fine. Running Windows 7 32-bit, with up-to-date tablet drivers. Does anyone know a fix for this?

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit 2 GB RAM Duo 1.6MHz processors Since upgrading from Vista to Win 7 File Hippo Update Checker no longer works? It appears to go through the motions of checking the software because the popup window appears but it never fires up the results in a browser which it used to do in Vista. It simply does nothing after the initial popup window appears and disappears. Have tried uninstall/reinstall with no joy. Any ideas?

  • VMWare Player: how to avoid always-on-top of other windows

    This question seems a little bit related, but not fully (I'm not using two monitors nor full-screen mode). I'm running VMWare Player 2.5.4 on Windows XP in normal window mode. Unfortunately, if I switch to other applications, VMWare remains the front-most window. I can avoid it by clicking the other application's title bar or if it pops up a dialog, but how can I avoid VMWare's "always-on-top"-mode completely?

    I did something weird and now my text size is like 3pt on every system window, but when I go in and change my window fonts to larger to something that looks normal, it makes my clock, bash, and other fonts absolutely gigantic. Is there any way I can just roll back my system and it's settings? It wouldn't be much bother as I installed the OS yesterday. I'd hate to have to reinstall entirely though, but I guess it's an option.

And then using dir or tree /F, the content in Unicode won't show as Unicode. (in Window Explorer (file manager), the Unicode will show) Is there a way to handle it?     Is there a way to configure Internet Explorer's "Open links from other programs in:" option per program? I'm looking for a way to allow different programs to act differently when clicking hyperlinks. For example, if I click a hyperlink in Microsoft Outlook I'd prefer it to open a new tab in the current window (option 2) but if I click a link out of an instant messenger program I'd prefer it to open in the current tab or window (option 3). Version wise I'm looking for a way to do it with IE 8+.

    I'm using VS2010, which has the cool feature of allowing you to drag panels out of the main IDE window. I like to drag some of the panels off to one of my other monitors. Unfortunately, after each run/debug session, VS2010 seems to forget where I had the panels, and dumps them right in the middle of the IDE window, and I have to move it again.   • Thunderbird doesn't raise or give focus when you click "Write" or "Reply".

    I'm using Thunderbird 2.0.22, the version that comes with Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10. When I hit "Reply" or "Write", a new email window pops up, but it ends up being under the main Thunderbird Window, and doesn't have focus. Thunderbird is the only application that exhibits this weird behaviour, and it just started happening one day, whereas it worked fine before. I've seen this problem years ago as well, and wasn't sure how I fixed it.
