• Internet Explore works very slowly executing JS code

  There is a page that uses PHP to fetch search results from Google Search API and then it puts the results on the page some funny way in a circle. Code and may look crappy but seems that it works more or less fine in Firefox. When you enter a search query and click submit button or Next/Previous links, it fills the wheel with results. The problem is its work in IE. It works there very slowly and then it doesn't clear the wheel before filling in new data, but puts it over that. My friend asked me to help him with this code. Please give me a piece of advice how I can fix it. Thanks so much!

  someone wrote a nice framework for developing html5 3d engine. It's GPL/MIT licensed. Do you think it's a good idea to build upon it, and then repackage it and sell it as a service? For eg the framework lets you build 3d environments. so I build on it, maybe add a few features like characters and music in the environment, and turn it into an online game. Is it a feasible idea? Of course, part of the GPL license says that all source code has to be visible to end users. Assuming the web is a winner take all market based on first mover advantage, why care about hiding the source code? It's the product that's being sold that counts.

  I want to get the code coverage of my tests. So I set the settings, build an app with .gcno files and run it on simulator. It can get the coverage data successfully if there is no crash issue. But if the app crashed, I will get nothing. So how can I get the code coverage data when the app crash? In my thought, this is because it will not call __gcov_flush() method when app crash. I only add app does not run in background to my plist file, so __gcov_flush() is called only at the time I press Home button. Is there any way to call __gcov_flush() before the app crash?

• Separate one-off code paths

  I'm implementing an application with different code paths that shall be chosen once at startup and then fixed forevermore for that execution- for example, choosing D3D11 or D3D9 rendering path. Obviously I don't want to duplicate all my other code. Is run-time inheritance (no virtual inheritance) a fair solution? I don't want to waste a bunch of performance making virtual lookups when the type was fixed long ago. Not just that, but it makes me nervous that the functions can't be inlined and whether or not it affects RVO and NRVO and such. Am I just being over-concerned about this?

  Hello, I am aware of that there are a number of code obfuscators/licensing programs for PHP. I wanted to know if anyone has actually used these and what their experience has been. Please note I do not want to know the solutions available. I want to know your experience using one of these solutions. Is it worth investing say 200$ purchasing a code obfuscator etc? I honestly would prefer something that does not have a loader etc. I know that it increases the chances of cracking, but I only want it to be a detrimental factor for them. Thank you for your time.

  Hi, due to testing and time measuring i have to write some kind of log into existing c# winforms code in Visual Studio 2010. I want to hold the changes and the work very small so my question is about replacing text in my call by counting numbers. Lets say i want to past a line like Log.WriteLine(position) many times in the code and then replace "position" with numbers starting from 1 to n in on turn. I cant use a counter in this case because of many loops i don´t get the right position. Thanks for any suggestions, Gpx

I have no idea why this code even works as there is no ending parenthesis. What is this doing? It looks to be creating a new variable on the fly, but shouldn't 'use strict' have fired or something? Please help explain what that '@(' is doing and why it still runs without an ending parenthesis.

  I'm a person that learns best from example. Currently, I'm diving into the field of Web Development after fifteen years of developing desktop apps. I'm still getting used to all the web technologies used for developing modern web sites and everywhere I look, I see cool little UI elements and question how they're implemented. So I thought I'd ask you, the web experts...the wexperts :) What are some straight forward or creative ways you could code this grid-breaking arrow... The basic layout for this page looks like... What would the html/css code look like? Would you split the image into multiple images or could you use a single image? I'm sure this is a really simple concept and it completely boggles me.   I found a public repo on GitHub that I would like to play around with. I can see myself potentially spending a lot of time writing tests for it and expanding its functionality. The code is also being sold as an app. I have no problem with this because I admire the owner's practice of sharing his source and also providing the convenience of paying for the app for users who don't want to mess with compiling it. If I was to spend time with this code as a separate fork what would prevent the owner from merging it with his master branch? Is it ethical for him to still profit off of my added functionality? Should a line be drawn somewhere?
