    Please answer these 2 questions: Our installation is not recognising the SQL server 2008 and if we try to create a DB, its telling Server components not found. Please tell what may be the issue and why it's not recognising. But our installation proceeds as client installation(if i point to the same instance with DB already created) without any issues. Can we install SQL express 2005 in a machine where SQL server 2008 is already installed. Please clarify.

For example, I have predictable arrays of values such as 1 => [1, 2, 444, 0.987], 2 => [2, 23, 123, -0.234], 3 => [3, 1, 34, 1.456] I would like to store the above in a TC fixed length db. Is there a way to store the above as arrays instead of as strings?

  • Need alternative field names for these reserved words

    “type” and “class” are likely reserved or problematic words in C# and/or Ruby, two languages I may use to program against my new database schema in the future. So, in order to avoid potential conflicts with those languages, I’m looking for alternative names for these field names in my tables. In this case, it is from my Machines table, where I have: “class” field (values would be something like “manual” or “computerized”) and “type” field (values would be “lathe” or “mill”) I could call the fields “machineclass” and “machinetype”, but that is inconsistent with naming scheme in the rest of my schema (meaning, I do not re-use the table name in the field… For instance, I use Machine.name, not Machine.machinename) Any thought on this madness?

Currently I want to separate the app server and db server, so I create a jdbc datasource to point to mysql server, but it doesn't works as expect, by the way, when I create datasource to point to local machine (glassfish app server and mysql db server in single machine), and It works well. Is there any configuration I need to care of when pointing datasource to different machine which I use to host my database (MySQL 5.1)?

    We are using Tasks to track individual development items and the "out of the box" configuration gives us only 2 states - Active and Closed. We would like to change it to: Assigned In Development In Test Ready for Production Closed (In Production) Any ideas on how to accomplish this? We've been through everything in the Admin site. I fine changing it in the DB if necessary but am not sure what should be changed - or if it is even in the DB. TIA

However once I create the POJOs using netbeans hibernate mapping files tools they are being created as one to many.     I have a history table and I need to select the values from this table in ColumnName, ColumnValue form. I am using SQL Server 2008 and I wasn’t sure if I could use the PIVOT function to accomplish this.     I'm trying to transfer a site from one hosting company to another. I was using 000webhost until the client had hosting and a domain. Now that the client has their domain and hosting, using FatCow.com, I can not for the life of me, debug my PHP code. I'm not getting any errors. I have a successful DB connection. If you procedurally display data, it works, but when I try to use my original objects, something is breaking and just returns "0:". I have all errors on. On old server where the site worked: PHP Version 5.2.11 MySQL Version: 5.0.81 On new server where I get the "0:": PHP Version 5.2.12 MySQL Version 5.0.32 I've setup a test page to test just the output of the variables with the DB connection.     Hi, I have a Django1.1 project that works with a legacy MySQL db. I'm trying to migrate this project to Oracle (xe and 11g). We have two options for the migration: - Use SQL developer to create a migration sql script. - Use Django fixtures. The schema created with the sql script from sql developer doesn't match the schema created from syncdb. For example, Django expects TIMESTAMP columns while sql developer creates DATE columns. Using syncdb with Django fixtures could be great but when trying to load the MySQL fixtures into Oracle, after using syncdb, I'm getting: IntegrityError: ORA-00001: unique constraint (USER.SYS_C004253) violated How can I find what part create the integrity error?     I know there is probably a simple thing I'm missing, but I've been beating my head against the wall for the past hour or two. I have a database for the Android application I'm currently working on (Android v1.6) and I just want to insert a single record into a database table. My code looks like the following: //Save information to my table sql = "INSERT INTO table1 (field1, field2, field3) " + "VALUES (" + field_one + ", " + field_two + ")"; Log.v("Test Saving", sql); myDataBase.rawQuery(sql, null); the myDataBase variable is a SQLiteDatabase object that can select data fine from another table in the schema. The saving appears to work fine (no errors in LogCat) but when I copy the database from the device and open it in sqlite browser the new record isn't there. I also tried manually running the query in sqlite browser and that works fine. The table schema for table1 is _id, field1, field2, field3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
