I'm using jQuery 1.4 with jQuery History and trying to figure out why Firebug/Web Inspector are showing 2 XHR GET requests on each page load (double that amount when visiting my sites homepage (/ or /#). e.g. Visit this (or any) page with Firebug enabled.     Hi, I am using jquery .load to call an action but it is not found.   • HTTP Request from a PC to load the contents of a wap site

    When I try to load a wap site with PHP HTTP request from my PC, host of the web site recognizes that I'm sending the request from a PC and redirects me to their actual web site and I can't load the wap site. Is there a way to behave like a mobile browser and prevent this redirection? Although an answer regarding any programming language is ok, a php specific answer will be better.

    How to prevent jQuery $('body').load('something.php'); from changing any DOM till all the content from something.php (including images,js) is fully loaded -Lets say some actual content is: Hello world And something.php content is: image that loads for 10 seconds 20 js plugins After firing .load() function nothing should happen, till images an js files are fully loaded, and THEN instantly change the content. some preloader may appear, but its not subject of question.

I've tried LibXL, but got this amazing error: "can't read more cells in trial version" So now I'm on the hunt for a free version :), unfortunately xlsLib isn't are enough along either to provide the ability to load existing .xls files.     Hello, I am using a PHP/MySQL login script that sends a new user an activation email. When a new user registers, the info is put into MySQL pretty much instantly, but then it takes about 4 minutes for the activation email to arrive in the new user's inbox. It seems like sites like Facebook and Twitter can get out an activation email instantly when a new user registers. Is there anything that I could do to make the activation email that I'm using arrive instantly or really fast? Thanks in advance, John
