  I have a table called users where I have two columns: name and created_at. created_at column column is of type datetime and it stores the datetime when this user was created. I need to know the number of users created for a given date range. Let's say I ask give me user report between 1-nov-2010 and 30-nov-2010 . I need something like this 1-nov-2010: 2 2-nov-2010: 5 The problem I am running into is that created_at data has value upto second. How do I check if a created_at date falls within a given date. Any help in solving this problem is appreciated. I am using mysql5.

This subactivity should take few numbers from user (i'm using Edit text control to achieve this), save them to static variable in another class and terminate. I want main activity to wait for subactivity but both are just running simultaneously.   I' m trying to use the DateField control. I can set the current value using the selectedDate field. Adobe says: "Selecting the currently selected date in the control deselects it, sets the selectedDate property to null", so when user selects other date the selectedDate = null. How do I can get the current selected value? I only saw in the debugger that DateField's text property contains the string with selected date? Do I need to parse it back? 10x in advance yevgeny

  Hi. I need to do what to me is an advanced sort. I have this two tables: Table: Fruit fruitid | received | basketid 1 20100310 2 2 20091205 3 3 20100220 1 4 20091129 2 Table: Basket id | name 1 Big Discounts 2 Premium Fruit 3 Standard Produce I'm not even sure I can plainly state how I want to sort (which is probably a big part of the reason I can't seem to write code to do it, lol). I do a join query and need to sort so everything is organized by basketid. The basketid that has the oldest fruit.received date comes first, then the other rows with the same basketid by date asc, then the basketid with the next earliest fruit.received date followed by the other rows with the same basketid, and so on. So the output would look like this: Fruitid | Received | Basket 4 20091129 Premuim Fruit 1 20100310 Premuim Fruit 2 20091205 Standard Produce 3 20100220 Big Discounts Any ideas how to accomplish this in a single execution?

• How might you unobtrusively enhance the jQuery Datepicker class?

  You can pass special strings into jQuery's Datepicker class setDate() method like "+7" which will be translated into "7 days from today": http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Datepicker#method-setDate But you can't get that "+7" back out. When you call getDate() you get the calculated resulting date. I have a use case where I need to pull out the special string "+7" for propagation. One chunk of code is passing a special string into the Datepicker and passing the Datepicker over to another chunk of code which pulls out the date, but the latter sometimes needs to know the special string rather than the calculated date. So I need to enhance the Datepicker tool to (a) store the special code internally and (b) expose it via a method like getOriginallyPassedInDate() or some such. I'm not a jQuery/Javascript ninja so I could really use some guidance on how I might preferably-unobtrusively add the necessary functionality to the Datepicker class, the way you might monkey-patch an object in Ruby I'm guessing.

  Hello, I have a category on NSDate, and I want to implement some functions to manipulate the date, like : NSDate *thedate = [NSDate date]; [thedate setToMidnight]; so I have a function in NSDate like : -(void)setToMidnight { some code with calendars and comps self = theNewDate; } This works inside the function, but outside this member function, thedate has not changed. I understand this malfunction because I've been told that self is just a local variable created inside the member function. So, how can I make this work ? Of course, I could have written : thedate = [thedate dateAsMidnightDate] or thedate = [NSDate dateAtMidnightFromDate:thedate] but I feel it has more sense inside the instance class, as I don't want to change the date but just adjust some values of the previously created one. Can you help me to achieve this ?

What Apache2 actually sends also includes a Content-Type: header (text/plain). I've commented out the DefaultType in the server configuration file. I'm trying to debug a downstream problem that arises when no Content-Type: header is sent. So what magic incantation do I have to perform to prevent Apache2 from adding the content type header?

  I originally started by selecting customers from a group of customers and then for each customer querying the records for the past few days and presenting them in a table row. All working fine but I think I might have got too ambitious as I tried to pull in all the records at once having heard that mutiple queries are a big no no. here is the mysqlquery i came up with to pull in all the records at once SELECT morning, afternoon, date, date2, fname, lname, customers.customerid FROM customers LEFT OUTER JOIN attend ON ( customers.customerid = attend.customerid ) RIGHT OUTER JOIN noattend ON ( noattend.date2 = attend.date ) WHERE noattend.date2 BETWEEN '$date2' AND '$date3' AND DayOfWeek( date2 ) %7 >1 AND group ={$_GET['group']} ORDER BY lname ASC , fname ASC , date2 DESC tables are customer-customerid,fname,lname attend-customerid,morning,afternoon,date noattend-date2 (a table of all the days to fill in the blanks) Now the problem I have is how to start a new row in the table when the customer id changes My query above pulls in customer 1 morning 2 customer 1 morning 1 customer 2 morning 2 customer 2 morning 1 whereas I'm trying to get customer1 morning2 morning1 customer2 morning2 morning1 I dont know whether this is possible in the sql or more likely in the php

• MySQL inner join different results

  I am trying to work out why the following two queries return different results: SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' and SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' Obviously the difference is the inner join here, but I don't understand why the one with the inner join is returning less results than the one without it, I would have thought since I didn't do any cross table references they should return the same results. The final query I am working towards is SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE cf.`fieldid` =5 AND cf.`value` REGEXP '[A-Za-z]' AND i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' But because of the different results that seem incorrect when I add the inner join (it removes some results that should be valid) it's not working at present, thanks.

What's odd is that 'month' gets the right value. But day and year seem to be stuck at MAX_INT (2147483647).   i have a problem at work, where i need to simplify the process how i searrh for logs. I would like to ask for help from experts here. We have different services for every channel. The structure is following: - root/channel_1/service_1/2014-05-21/file_54544654541.xml - root/channel_1/server2_2/2014-05-20/file_74272172.xml - root/channel_1/service_3/2014-05-22/file_45456546.xml - root/channel_2/service_4/2014-05-23/file_78754456.xml - root/channel_2/service_5/2014-05-24/file_546546546.xml my main problem is to find particular string in these xml files. Lets say, i know the channel name but i dont know the service name under which my particular string should be present. Also i know the date. So in search i want to enter the channel name the date and string. The search would be going via all service folders and looking for string only in all xml files under particular date folder and particular channel. any ideas for quickest and easiest solution to achieve this? Either by bash or perl? Any help would be appreciated thanks

• jQuery cookie behaves differently on local machine vs production server

  I'm setting a jQuery cookie for some site javascript effects. I'm setting expiration date to 30 days. On local development machine cookie expiration is set properly, whereas on production expiration is being set to end of session. After inspecting the created cookies with web develoer tools, everything is identical except production machine cookie is marked as "session cookie" and setting expiration is disallowed, while cookie created on local development machine is not set to "session" and expiration date is editable. Is there a way to make production machine cookie accept the expiration date?   Hi everyone, I've been researching this problem for awhile now and I can't seem to come to a solution, hopefully someone here can help. Currently I'm working with Microsoft SQL server management, I've been trying to do the following: Previously, the old query would just return the results that fit between two dates Heres the previous query: SELECT e.Name, o.StartDate, o.EndDate FROM dbo.Name e, dbo.Date o WHERE where e.Name = o.Name and o.StartDate <= '2010-09-28 23:59:59' and o.EndDate >= '2010-9-28 00:00:00' and e.Name like 'A' Example table that is produced after the query runs (The real table has a lot more rows obviously :P) : Name Start End A 2010-09-28 07:00:00 2010-09-28 17:00:00 A 2010-09-28 13:45:00 2010-09-28 18:00:00 A 2010-09-28 08:00:00 2010-09-28 16:00:00 A 2010-09-28 07:00:00 2010-09-28 15:30:00 However we need to change this, so that the query does the following: find the dates that intersect for a day x find the dates that don't intersect for a day x I've found a real useful site regarding this http://bloggingabout.net/blogs/egiardina/archive/2008/01/30/check-intersection-of-two-date-ranges-in-sql.aspx However the date to compare against is inputted, mine on the other hand has to all dates that intersect/don't intersect.
