    Hi all, I have really wired problems here. I am using MS 2008 sql server at the moment. After I did a tail-log backup, the target database is automatically restoring and keeping on restoring. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks, Ling

  • How can I Duplicate a MSSQL Symmetric Key?

    We have a server with a database that has a symmetric key (Database - Security - Symmetric Key). We have a backup duplicate databases that we are using as a test databases, but we don't have this key in there. How can I duplicate this symmetric key (or make a new one exactly like the old) and put it in the existing databases? It has to have the same value and key-name as the other one. This is on MS SQL Server (edit) 2008 .

Here's the thing, I like this java-like code writting: if (condition == true) { doSomeStuff(); } But VisualStudio "helps" me with his own "style", which I don't like and I am unable to change (after rather big time of desperate checking all settings :/) if (condition == true) { DoStuff(); } I obviously want the "{" char to be in same line where condition is ...   • How do I calculate the week number given a date?

    If I have a date, how do I calculate the week number for that date within that year? For example, in 2008, January 1st to January 6th are in week 1 and January 7th to the 13th are in week 2, so if my date was January 10th 2008, my week number would be 2.     Several MS apps support the concept of chords, like "CTRL+X,Y" which means "holding down CTRL, press X, then Y". Is this a bespoke thing they (and other companies) implement, or is it built into any APIs? It would be nice to be able to set up event handlers or accelerators based on chords rather than write code to do it.

  • Unable to install gem "pg" on Ubuntu 12.10 (AMD64)

    I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to install the "pg" gem on my ruby 1.9.3-p286 but nothing seems to work. I've already installed postgresql (9.1), libpq-dev and a few others like postgresql-server-dev-9.1. I've tried to pass the "with-pg-config" flag to the gem install but simply nothing seems to work. Every time I try to install the gem it outputs something like this: Building native extensions. This could take a while...   • Rewrite SQL Fulltext Function to return Table only

    I have a MS SQL Fulltext Function like this: (...) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?
