• What are the best possible ways to benchmark RAM (no-ECC) under linux / arm?

  I want to test integrity and global performances of no-ECC memory chips on a custom board Are there some tools that run under linux so I can monitor system and global temperature in the same time ? Are there some no-ECC specific tests to do in general ? EDIT 1: I already know how to monitor temperature (I use a special platform feature /sys/devices/platform/......../temp1_input).   In my most recent question: Unit Testing Best Practice? / C# InternalsVisibleTo() attribute for VBNET 2.0 while testing?, I was asking about InternalsVisibleToAttribute. I have read the documentation on how to use it, and everything is fine and understood. However, I can't instantiate my class Groupe from my Testing project. I want to be able to instantiate my internal class in my wrapper assembly, from my testing assembly. Any help is appreciated! EDIT Here's the compile-time error I get when I do try to instantiate my type: Erreur 2 'Carra.Exemples.Blocs.ActiveDirectory.Groupe' n'est pas accessible dans ce contexte, car il est 'Private'. • M2Crypto: Is PKey a reference to a Public or a Private key?

  In the PKey class documentation of the M2Crypto python package (an OpenSSL wrapper for Python) it is said that PKey is a reference to a Public key. My opinion is instead that it's a reference to a Private Key because the init method of the PKey class calls the evp_pkey_new openssl function that, from this link: http://linux.die.net/man/3/evp_pkey_new , should allocate a new reference to a private key structure! There are two only possible explaination: The M2Crypto documentation is wrong or the link I've reported has wrong informations. Can someone help me to find the truth?

• FTP error when doing file transfer

  I'm running vsftpd version 3.0.2 over FTPeS, and I'm having a bit of trouble with file transfers. It seems to work fine when I'm on the LAN, but not from an external IP address. I have the control port and data ports open on my server's software firewall and my router's firewall. When I'm using the service from an external IP address, it seems like sometimes a file transfer will complete, but it times out and I always get the client error: "426 Failure writing network stream". I've tried several clients. I'm thinking there is some sort of data sabotage either at the router or some server policy; maybe because I'm using passive ftp? Suggestions?

• Events doesn't fire when using UpdatePanel

  Hi, What I did is, I have made 2 user controls. One control is inside the other. NoW one control has a buttton and a data grid and datalist in it. When pressing button I am filling datagrid while datalist visiblity false. This is working fine. But now when I press some link button in datalist data, it should call item_command event but it is not calling. I have also used a Updatepanel as a wrapper(all controls are inside it). Please suggest what may be the reason for that. Thanks

• net.sf.hibernate.PropertyAccessException: Null value was assigned to a property of primitive type

  Hi! What might be reasons for running in the quoted exception upon a HQL select, when there is actually no NULL value in the respective field in the database? I've checked the database multiple times. I've manually submitted the query statement produced by hibernate (extracted from debug). Null values for the respective field are actually never returned. However, the corresponding row in the database is in fact nullable. Does hibernate care about the data base definition? I know, I could simple change the filed to a wrapper type, but we have a number of such fields in a legacy application and this only occurs upon a single query. I'm just wondering about the actual reason for getting this exception only with a single property. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

It supports streaming video through RTMP. Now what I want to do is this: +--(720p)--> TwitchTV FirstChannel XSplit --(720p RTMP)-->[MyTranscodingServer]--+ +--(360p)--> TwitchTV SecondChannel Is there a simple way to do this? Additional info: Both channels accept standard RTMP stream on their RTMP endpoint using either username/password or streamkey. The server operating system is GNU/Linux

• How can I view a PDF in Firefox when the server specifies the wrong content type?

  I am using Mozilla Firefox with a PDF viewer plug-in. The plug-in has been correctly associated with Adobe Reader files to view them in the browser in the settings. I would like to be able to view PDF files in Firefox rather than downloading them. This already works correctly when a web server indicates that a file has the Content-Type of application/pdf. However, some web servers provide other Content-Types for PDFs, such as application/octet-stream. (See this example of a PDF served with a non-pdf Content-Type.) I have looked at Firefox's MimeTypes.rdf file, and it appears to only support mapping applications based on file types for non-Internet-based files. How can I have Firefox view all PDF documents in-browser rather than only the ones with the application/pdf Content-Type?

• H.264 Pricing confusion

  not sure if this is the right place but there seems to be other H.264 questions here, if not please point me to the right place! I am taking uploaded content and encoding it to H.264, I'm confused about the pricing though. Do I have to pay to host and stream this video on my server (in Ireland). I've tried looking around google but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. Some countries have exceptions, some pay $2500. What kind of information should I be looking at to understand the pricing model more? Thanks.

• How to use PHP-based authentication from non-PHP based AJAX app?

  I've been asked to create a stand-alone webapp using "straight" HTML and Javascript that does user authentication against an existing PHP app (backend is MySQL). Unfortunately, I really don't have a firm grasp on how PHP authentication works, and I'd rather not invest a lot of time in learning PHP just for this particular case. I can see two possibilites so far 1) create a PHP wrapper around my new app and use native PHP authentication (don't like this) 2) create a simple REST-ful webservice around the PHP authentication (don't know how to do this) Anything else I should consider? Help is much appreciated!

  Many of us have embraced the podcasting revolution enabled by rss feeds and podcatchers. Alot of sites now broadcast live streams of what is eventually edited into a podcast. In most cases listening to the live stream gets you the info several days sooner then the podcast. So I was wondering if anybody knows of a notification protocol / app that allows me to auto tune into certain streams when they go live, or based on a schedule. I imagine twitter could be used for the notification but It'd be better not to be tied to a proprietary service. • How to get or make a WPF WebBrowser with a visual.

  Having problems related to WPF WebBrowser not having a visual. Reason being, that it actually a wrapper around the winforms browser. Plus, the dll's should be licensed for commercial use. The second one seems simple, but not able to figure out when to refresh the screen. Plus there's so much to do like sending mouse and keyboard messages to the webbrowser. P.S. The problem I'm trying to solve is to show the same webbrowser on different windows. They both must be interactive, and always in sync visually.

  I have to ship a third-party library with an application. Because I don't want to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH by hand or require any wrapper script I want automake to set a custom rpath. Unfortunately libtool has its own -rpath option and adding -Wl,-rpath,/foo/bar to LDFLAGS only results in g++: unrecognized option '-rpath' because libtool seems to get confused with the command line options. The same happens with the alternative form -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/foo/bar. Is there any way to specify a custom rpath without libtool interference?

I've been using Total Recorder which has the following useful features: Handy scheduler Supports creating recording templates, so I can customize some high/low quality recording Unfortunately it requires opening the streaming radio in a browser and can't have another sound source at the same time; it's recording what comes out from the speaker. What I am looking for is given an online radio URL, the tool should be able to record the audio stream, no matter if I am playing any other music or not. Does such a tool exist?

  I've been digging around for ages but not getting very far so any links or tips would be massively appreciated. I want to create a central "radio station" in my home to stream one playlist to any computers pointing their browser to the ip within my internal network. I have an old mini slave mac mini running ubuntu and was originally thinking I could get php and apache to handle this but then quickly realised that of course, php will serve out streaming independently per connection ie no radio station.   My HTPC is downstairs connected to my large screen. I would like to use my desktop upstairs to record over the air HDTV and stream it to the HTPC. I have Windows 7 Professional installed on the desktop. I currently have XP on the HTPC, but I'm going to upgrade it to Windows 7. Is there a particular flavor of Win 7 I should use? Is it possible to record on the desktop and use Windows MCE on the HTPC to watch the recorded content? What about live TV? The consensus I've seen is that Windows 7 cannot be configured as a Windows Media Center Extender. Is that the case? If so, what's the cheapest solution for an extender?

• What Windows message is fired for mouse-up with modifier keys?

  My WndProc isn't seeing mouse-up notifications when I click with a modifier key (shift or control) pressed. I see them without the modifier key, and I see mouse-down notifications with the modifier keys. I'm using the Windows Forms NativeWindow wrapper to get Windows messages from the WndProc() method. I've tried tracking the notifications I do get, and I the only clue I see is WM_CAPTURECHANGED. I've tried calling SetCapture when I receive the WM_LBUTTONDOWN message, but it doesn't help. Without modifier (skipping paint, timer and NCHITTEST messages): WM_LBUTTONDOWN WM_SETCURSOR WM_MOUSEMOVE WM_SETCURSOR WM_LBUTTONUP With modifier (skipping paint, timer and NCHITTEST messages): WM_KEYDOWN WM_PARENTNOTIFY WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_SETCURSOR WM_LBUTTONDOWN WM_SETCURSOR (repeats) WM_KEYDOWN (repeats) WM_KEYUP If I hold the mouse button down for a long time, I can usually get a WM_LBUTTONUP notification, but it should be possible to make it more responsive..   Numpy, scipy, matplotlib, and pylab are common terms among they who use python for scientific computation. I just learn a bit about pylab, and I got a lot of confusion. Whenever I want to import numpy, I can always do: import numpy as np I just consider, that once I do from pylab import * The numpy will be imported as well (with np alias). So basically the second one do more things compared to the first one. There are few things I want to ask. Is it right that pylab is just a wrapper for numpy, scipy and matplotlib? As np is the numpy alias, what is the scipy and matplotlib alias? (as far as I know, plt is alias of matplotlib.pyplot, but I don't know the alias for the matplotlib itself) Thanks in advance.

• Making OR/M loosely coupled and abstracted away from other layers.

  Hi all. In an n-tier architecture, the best place to put an object-relational mapping (OR/M) code is in the data access layer. For example, database queries and updates can be delegated to a tool like NHibernate. Yet, I'd like to keep all references to NHibernate within the data access layer and abstract dependencies away from the layers below or above it. That way, I can swap or plug in another OR/M tool (e.g. Entity Framework) or some approach (e.g. plain vanilla stored procedure calls, mock objects) without causing compile-time errors or a major overhaul of the entire application. Testability is an added bonus. Could someone please suggest a wrapper (i.e. an interface or base class) or approach that would keep OR/M loosely coupled and contained in 1 layer? Or point me to resources that would help? Thanks.

• High level audio crossfading library for python

  I am looking for a high level audio library that supports crossfading for python (and that works in linux). In fact crossfading a song and saving it is about the only thing I need. I tried pyechonest but I find it really slow. Working with multiple songs at the same time is hard on memory too (I tried to crossfade about 10 songs in one, but I got out of memory errors and my script was using 1.4Gb of memory). So now I'm looking for something else that works with python. I have no idea if there exists anything like that, if not, are there good command line tools for this, I could write a wrapper for the tool.

• Connecting to a DLNA server in Vista's Media Centre

  I've got a Windows 7 machine with a DLNA server set up. I can stream from it to my mobile and a number of other devices with no issues. All clients are auto-authorised so no permissions issues either. I have a Vista laptop on the network which I'd like to use to play back some of the videos. I can see the media server in the network view, if I double-click it, I can see the server in Windows Media Player. I can't find any way to add a DLNA source to Windows Media Centre, though. Where's the setting hidden?

I'm trying to get it so that if you're down a ways on the gallery and then click "foreword" or any menu item, it scrolls you back to 0,0. The current sliding code is as follows: $('#wrapper ul li').click(function() { $(window).scrollTo($(this).next('li'), 500, {offset: {top:0, left:-50}}, {easing:'easeOutExpo'} ); }); And I'm trying to add something like this under it: $('#menu li').click(function() { $(window).scrollTo(0,0, 500, {offset: {top:0, left:-50}}, {easing:'easeOutExpo'} ); }); It continues switching tabs, but it won't scroll back to the beginning!
