  • Why is this writing part of the text to a new line? (Python)

    I'm adding some new bits to one of the lines in a text file and then writing it along with the rest of the lines in the file to a new file. Referring to the if statement, I that to be all on the same line: x = 13.55553e9 y = 14.55553e9 z = 15.55553e9 infname = 'afilename' outfname = 'anotherone' oldfile = open(infname) lnum=1 for line in oldfile: if (lnum==18): line = "{0:.2e}".format(x)+' '+line+' '+"{0:.2e}".format(y)+' '+ {0:.2e}".format(z) newfile = open(outfname,'w') newfile.write(line) lnum=lnum+1 oldfile.close() newfile.close() but y and z are being written on the line below the rest of it. What am I missing here?

    This feels a bit messy, but I'd like to be able to call a member function statically, yet have the rest of the class behave normally... However I understand that there must be only one flatpages model since the middleware only returns the flatpages instance and does not resolve the child models. What do I have to do?     I have a model defined as below: class Example(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User, null=True) other = models.CharField(max_length=100) The problem is Django refuses to assign django.contrib.auth.models.AnonymousUser directly to Example.user as null field so everytime I have to check if request.user.is_authenticated() ans assign Example.user = None manually. Is there a default value for AnonymousUser to use in a model field?

    I'm trying to combine multiple files in multiple input directories into a single file, for various odd reasons I won't go into. My initial try was to write a 'nul' mapper and reducer that just copied input to output, but that failed. My latest try is: vcm_hadoop lester jar /vcm/home/apps/hadoop/contrib/streaming/hadoop-*-streaming.jar -input /cruncher/201004/08/17/00 -output /lcuffcat9 -mapper /bin/cat -reducer NONE but I end up with multiple output files anyway. Anybody know how I can coax everything into a single output file?
