  • Cannot get new product attribute in grid display

    I added a new attribute to my products(a boolean "yes/no" field). It is a variable to enable/disable the price from displaying on the product detail page, and grid view. I managed to get it work on the product info page. But on product grid page I cant seem to access that variable. Specifically, the template i am working with is catalog/product/price.phtml. From what i can tell, the price is being displayed by the same group of if-statements on both the product detail page, and grid page. This has me confused because i cant find any code on that template to handle multiple products, just a bunch of nested if statements. this is how im attempting to access this new variable using $_displayPrice. on line 36 of catalog/product/price.html <?php $_product = $this->getProduct(); ?> <?php $_id = $_product->getId() ?> <?php $_displayPrice = $_product->getDisplayPrice() ? I would like to have a custom ControlDesigner, but I would like to modify the behavior of the TextBox's designer rather than having to write a complete designer myself. In particular, I'd like to be able to return the TextBox's SnapLines while providing some custom verbs. Is there a good way to do this? EDIT: To clarify, this is for Windows Forms in .NET 2.0.

The referenced method "humanize" isn't used for anything I'm doing at the moment, but belongs to the Model because it's used in several other places. Of course, removing the method is not really an option right now, and the model contains several other methods as well so I assume if I just move the humanize method around, it will generate an error on the next one.   • Custom Template and Layered Navigation

    I created a custom template for the category view that displays all subcategories for current category. When i set the current category as is_anchor = yes in the admin, the layered navigation filters show up in the side bar. The Sub categories is one of the filters are there as well, but when i click on one them the page still displays all subcategories. I would like to some how test for active filters in my custom template, which i assume there has to be a way to get this info from Magento. Below is my custom code. $_filters is how i am trying to access these filters, but it gives me nothing.   • Structuring System Architecture in a Flex Web Application on a Budget (w/o Java)

    I started a project a while back using the following architecture from Adobe Developer Article talking about Creating marketing platforms in Flex. I did my first set of coding locally forgetting that my server did not handle Tomcat. So I said okay, and cut some corners and then some other limitation came up and I cut some more corners. Eventually for a good week or two, it was trying to get the project working with making the ends meet. Layers started to merge. In the end I used a PureMVC (Presentation/Client) - ZendAMF (Communication) - MySql (Data) Layout. It worked but I never felt as though I had some layer just to take care of all the SQL calls to the data.It just felt hacked together So should I keep the above setup and just start from the presentation layer and move downwards like they said in the article or is there a better layering (based on a hosting plan that does not handle Java) I could accomplish ? NOTE: I would just ask the adobe guys but they barely reply on their site. Thanks !

    Context: I'm trying to include Adminhtml blocks in the frontend of the site to replace some of the user account blocks. The first thing I'm trying to do is simply display the block on the correct page. I can replace the entire page by setting the Body of the response inside the controller, but I'm having a hard time including the block in the layout xml file and then calling it within the template. Why would I be able to create an adminhtml/sales_order_grid from Mage_Sales_OrderController using createBlock: $this->getResponse()->setBody($this->getLayout()->createBlock('adminhtml/sales_order_grid')->toHtml()); But not from a frontend layout, using a declaration <block type="adminhtml/sales_order_grid" name="orders_widget"/> within app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/sales.xml The latter produces an error without a stack trace: Fatal error: Call to a member function toHtml() on a non-object in app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Layout.php on line 526 Thanks for any guidance!

  • Fill in word form field with more than 255 characters

    I am trying to programmaticly fill in a microsoft word form. I am successfully able to do so if the string is under 255 chars with the following code below, however it says the string is too long if i try and use a string over 255 chars... How do I get past this limitation? If I open the word doc in word I can type in more than 255 chars without a problem. The question is: which libraries/frameworks do you use in your current ZF-based project? what are the best practices for ZF-based project architecture? I don't mean any components that are already a part of ZF. Please give a description of aditional frameworks you have integrated (like RuckUsing, Smarty, or Doctrine).   • Second Thread Holding Up Entire Program in C# Windows Form Application

    In my windows form application, I'm trying to test the user's ability to access a remote machine's shared folder. The way I'm doing this (and I'm sure that there are better ways...but I don't know of them) is to check for the existence of a specific directory on the remote machine (I'm doing this because of firewall/other security restrictions that I'm confronted with in my organization). If the user has rights to access the shared folder, then it returns in no time at all, but if they don't, it hangs forever. To solve this, I threw the check into another thread and wait only 1000 milliseconds before determining that the share can't be hit by the user. However, when I do this, it still hangs as if it was never run in the same thread. What is making it hang and how do I fix it? I would think that the fact that it is in a separate thread would allow me to just let the thread finish on it's own in the background.     Hi, I'm working on my first Django application. In short, what it needs to do is to display a list of film titles, and allow users to give a rating (out of 10) to each film. I've been able to use the {{ form }} and {{ formset }} syntax in a template to produce a form which lets you rate one film at a time, which corresponds to one row in a MySQL table, but how do I produce a form that iterates over all the movie titles in the database and produces a form that lets you rate lots of them at once? At first, I thought this was what formsets were for, but I can't see any way to automatically iterate over the contents of a database table to produce items to go in the form, if you see what I mean. Currently, my views.py has this code: def survey(request): ScoreFormSet = formset_factory(ScoreForm) if request.method == 'POST': formset = ScoreFormSet(request.POST, request.FILES) if formset.is_valid(): return HttpResponseRedirect('/') else: formset = ScoreFormSet() return render_to_response('cf/survey.html', { 'formset':formset, }) And my survey.html has this: <form action="/survey/" method="POST"> <table> {{ formset }} </table> <input type = "submit" value = "Submit"> </form> Oh, and the definition of ScoreForm and Score from models.py are: class Score(models.Model): movie = models.ForeignKey(Movie) score = models.IntegerField() user = models.ForeignKey(User) class ScoreForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Score So, in case the above is not clear, what I'm aiming to produce is a form which has one row per movie, and each row shows a title, and has a box to allow the user to enter their score. Basically a wrapper for an ImageField that generates a thumbnail. upload_to="images/blogs", height_field="imageheight", width_field="imagewidth", help_text = "Select an image to upload.", thumbnail={'size': (360,720)}, generate_on_save=True, ) The EntryImage class shows up as an inline in the admin page for Entry. What I'd like to do is place a link or a button beside each of these inlines that does the following: Save the EntryImage Append <Image x> to the content of the Entry, where x is the number of the EntryImage. This will be replaced by the image's thumbnail using a template filter. Save the Entry Return to editing the Entry I have looked into this, but I just can't wrap my head around where I'm supposed to add this button or link. Has anyone else tried something similar? On submit it calls up function productAddToCartForm, which I feel like if I could modify, I could figure it out. But I have no idea where that function is.   • Response.Redirect not firing due to code to prevent re-submission

    I have an event which needs to contact some third party providers before performing a redirect (think 'final payment page on ecommerce site') and hence has some lag associated with its processing. It is very important that these third party providers are not contacted more than once, and sometimes impatient users may try and refresh the page (hence re-submitting the data). The general code structure is: If Session("orderStatus") <> 'processing' Then Session("orderStatus") = 'processing' DoThirdPartyStuffThatTakesSomeTime() Response.Redirect("confirmationPage.asp", True) End If The problem is, if the user refreshes the page, the response.redirect does not happen (even though the rest of the code will run before the redirect from the original submission). It seems that the new submission creates a new thread for the browser which takes precedence - it skips this bit of code obviously to prevent the third party providers being contacted a second time, and since there is no redirect, just comes back to the same page. The whole second submission may have completed before the first submission has finished its job. Any help on how I can still ignore all of the subsequent submissions of the page, but still make the redirect work...? Thanks

    I wrote few custom view helpers but I have a little trouble using them. If I add the helper path in controller action like this: public function fooAction() { $this->view->addHelperPath('My/View/Helper', 'My_View_Helper'); } Then I can use the views from that path without a problem. But when I add the path in the bootstrap file like this: protected function _initView() { $this->view = new Zend_View(); $this->view->doctype('XHTML1_STRICT'); $this->view->headScript()->appendFile($this->view->baseUrl() . '/js/jquery-ui/jquery.js'); $this->view->headMeta()->appendHttpEquiv('Content-Type', 'text/html; charset=UTF-8'); $this->view->headMeta()->appendHttpEquiv('Content-Style-Type', 'text/css'); $this->view->headMeta()->appendHttpEquiv('Content-Language', 'sk'); $this->view->headLink()->appendStylesheet($this->view->baseUrl() . '/css/reset.css'); $this->view->addHelperPath('My/View/Helper', 'My_View_Helper'); } Then the view helpers don't work. Why is that? It's too troublesome to add the path in every controller action.   • Javascript check of a form, not waiting for ajax response

    this is a part of the check in my form function check(theform) { var re = /^\w[0-9A-Za-z]{5,19}$/; if (!re.test(theform.username.value)) { alert("not valid username"); theform.username.focus(); return false; } $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "username.asp", data: "username="+theform.username.value, success: function(msg){ username = msg; if (!username) { alert("username already in use"); return false; } } }); var re = /^\w[0-9A-Za-z]{5,19}$/; if (!re.test(theform.password.value)) { alert("not valid password"); theform.password.focus(); return false; } } for some reason of sync... it check the username then duplicated username with the ajax and not waiting for respond and jump to the password check. i don't want to insert the rest of the code to isreadystate (or what ever it is) because i might move the username duplicate check to the end... and then the function will end before the ajax anyway what should i do?

    Hi How do I know how many seconds it will be until a php session expires? I'm building a web application where users might spend a lot of time typing into big text fields, but for security reasons I still want sessions to time out after a reasonably short period. I want to warn them if their session is about to expire so they can save or take some other action to keep it alive. Any tips? thanks!

  • Zend_Cache save from command line and access from browser

    May be I am this is super-easy but I couldnt' figure out way. I have script running in command line which save cache using Zend_Cache $frontendOptions = array( 'lifetime' => NULL, 'automatic_serialization' => true ); $backendOptions = array( 'cache_dir' => "/home/tmp/cache" ); $cache = Zend_Cache::factory('Core', 'File', $frontendOptions, $backendOptions); $vars = Array("id1" => "12121", "id2" => "2232"); $cache->save($vars, "p_11"); I can access saved cache from command line: $cache->load("p_11"); In above both case, I have app.php file that run in command line using php-cli. Now, I want to access p_11 cache using browser something like http://mytestserve.lan/test_cache.php I have create object with cache factory like above. All the parameters are same as above. However when I try to load cache p_11, i do not variables set from command line. What went wrong?
