• Toggle DIV and SPAN text onclick

  I have been trying to mimic this website http://www.designrattan.co.uk/daybed/apple for a while now. I need to make a page where the customer can click "View 360" and then it changes the DIV to show the product 360 (for which I already have the code for). I also need to make it so that when it is clicked the span text then changes to "Back to Image" I have tried many times and have failed to get the Javascript code and HTML to work well together. My efforts can be seen here: http://designliving.tk/winchester-rattan-garden-round-table-set As you can see it is a complete fail as it doesn't change the DIV it just displays a new one. Also when you click the button it then changes to text instead of a new button. If anyone can help me here I would be massively appreciative and if I need to pay you for your efforts then please contact me on [email protected]

• what do you expect from flash in the near future?

  The recent article of steve jobs link made me think about the future of flash. I'm learning actionscript 3.0 in my studies but is it the right decision still to go for it? I was pretty sure that I will be able to build application in as3 for iphones/ipads in the near future. It seems to me, while I would stay with flash, the market will be polarized by apple and adobe and you will always work double for both clientele, or just lose half of them. Which decision would you take as a designer, if you were still at university and you intend to become a freelancer?

  Hello, I am running into an "out of memory" error from OpenGL on glReadPixels() under low-memory conditions. I am writing a plug-in to a program that has a robust heap mechanism for such situations, but I have no idea whether or how OpenGL could be made to use it for application memory management. The notion that this is even possible came to my attention through this [albeit dated] thread on a similar issue under Mac OS X: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Mac-opengl/2001/Sep/msg00042.html I am using Windows XP, and have seen it on multiple NVidia cards. • How can I access the iPhone favorite numbers using Objective C?

  Hi! I am writing an application using Objective C and I want to access the iPhone favorites numbers (the ones that can be found in the "Phone" application). I've searched among the properties specific to each contact from the Address Book and I even had a look at the Address Book database, but I couldn't identify which property or field from the database indicates which are the favorite numbers. Since "Phone" is an application installed by Apple on the iPhone I was expecting to find such a property in the database. However, I think that it might be possible that this application stores the favorite numbers independently of the Address Book database.   I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to write this query. A hypothetical problem that is that same as the one I'm trying to solve: Say I have a table of apples. Each apple has numerous attributes, such as color_id, variety_id and the orchard_id they were picked from. The color_id, variety_id, and orchard_id all refer to their respective tables: colors, varieties, and orchards. Now, say I need to query for all apples that have color_id = '3', which refers to yellow in the colors table. I want to somehow obtain this yellow value from the query. Make sense? Here's what I was trying: SELECT * FROM apples, colors.id WHERE color_id = '3' LEFT JOIN colors ON apples.color_id = colors.id

  I plan to submit my first iPhone game "The Twiggles" to the iPhone app store today. Like many people suggest, I want to set the "Availability Date" to a date way in the future and change it later. But there are two different opinions on what to do once the app is approved: A: Some people say, I have to quickly change the "Availability Date" to the date the app is approved by Apple right after I get the "app approved" mail. Otherwise it won't show up in the "New Releases" list. B: Some people say, this is not necessary (or maybe no longer necessary). I can set the "Availability Date" to some date in the future (for example, next weekend). The app will be released on that day and will show up in the "New Releases" list on that day. Who is right?

• How do I use a contact's photo in a table view cell?

  I've got an app that has a table view that displays contact information in each row. I'd like to use the contact's stored image (if there is one available) as the image on the left-hand side of the cell. I've found some sketchy sample code in Apple's documentation, but the address book references some kind of weird data type (CFDataRef) that doesn't appear to correspond to the data types referenced in the table view programming guide (mainly UIImage). This seems like a pretty basic task, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

• How does the default Camera iPhone app manages to save a photo so fast?

  Hello everyone. So far I've managed to create an app for iPhone that takes multiple images with about a 3 second interval between each. I`m processing each image in a separate thread asynchronously and everything is great till it gets to the moment for saving the image on the iPhone disk. Then it takes about 12 seconds to save the image to the disk using JPEG representation. How does Apple do it, how do they manage to save a single image so fast to the disk is there a trick they are using? I saw that the animations distract the user for a while, but still the time needed is below 12 seconds! Thanks in advance.

• Twitter Streaming API - tracking exact multiple keywords in exact order

  Hey Guys, I'm just beginning to play with the Twitter Streaming API. If I specify $sc-setTrack(array('just bought from')); This will correctly pull only tweets that have all 3 keywords - but doesn't maintain the order. 1) I want the keywords to appear in the same order like "I just bought apple from itunes" but the above also returns tweets like "I bought some apples and just removed them from the bag" 2) Is there a way to specify the exact words say "NBA basketball" with nothing in between - in the sense I dont want tweets like this to be returned Watching basketball on NBA tv I just want tweets which contain the exact phrase to be returned like I love watching NBA basketball 3) Also is there a way to specify negative keywords Any tips if this is possible. My Questions are: if server install 2 profiles that have different config for the same thing, what will happen? "Moile device management protocol" documents also mention about "Managed App Configuration and Feedback". So what is different between the previous config file with this function of server. Is "Managed App Configuration and Feedback" just for specific app, not for the whole device as profile files. which fields can be config via "Managed App Configuration and Feedback" of MDM?   Hello I have a simple simulated aarray with two elements: bowl["fruit"]="apple"; bowl["nuts"]="brazilian"; I can access the value with an event like this: onclick="testButton00_('fruit')">with `testButton00_` function testButton00_(key){ var t = bowl[key]; alert("testButton00_: value = "+t); } However whenever I try to access the aarray from within code with a key that is just a non-explicit string I get undefined. • How does "Open With" some app in iPhone work?

  As far as I know, from iOS SDK 3.2, file type handling is added and an iOS application can associate itself with some file type so that other applications can open this kind of file with the application. Because of the sandbox mechanism in iOS, I wonder when a file in appA is opened with appB, which registered itself with this kind of file, what will happen? Is this file copied to appB and both appA and appB keep a copy of this file? If the answer is yes, is it possible to make appB open the file under appA's document folder? I cannot find any Apple documentation on this. For example, appA stores a Keynote document in it, if I open this Keynote document with the Keynote app, is it possible to let Keynote app to edit this document in place so that after editing, appA can see the updated document? Any help is appreciated.

  I'm now on my third full day this week of trying to get OpenCV to work with Python. (I have been trying on and off for the past 6 months).   I'm an iPhone programmer who is no longer in possession of a personal Mac computer on which to use XCode. I have two Windows desktops, and I would like to run OS X in VMWare rather than purchase Apple's expensive hardware. However, neither of my machines supports hardware-assisted virtualization, which is required to virtualize OS X. I went shopping online for a computer today, since I've been planning to purchase a laptop anyway, but sites like Best Buy don't appear to give any indication of whether or not a product supports this. Is there any other site out there or some trick to figuring this out other than buying the machine and running Microsoft's nifty little detection tool?

  In almost all of the books I read and examples I go through I see pointers initialized this way. Say that I have a class variable NSString *myString that I want to initialize. I will almost always see that done this way: -(id)init { if (self = [super init]) { NSString *tempString = [[NSString alloc] init]; myString = tempString; [tempString release]; } return self; } Why can't I just do the following? -(id)init { if (self = [super init]) { myString = [[NSString alloc] init]; } return self; } I don't see why the extra tempString is ever needed in the first place, but I could be missing something here with memory management. Is the way I want to do things acceptable or will it cause some kind of leak? I have read the Memory Management Guide on developer.apple.com and unless I am just missing something, I don't see the difference.

  I've made a UIScrollView the first responder. I need to maintain touch events to a touchesEnded:withEvent: method on a view behind it. I've tried using the nextResponder method and that failed. I've tried forwarding touchesEnded:withEvent to the view behind it and that fails. How do I get this to work? The UIScrollView wont work unless it is the first responder or gets events some other way. Thank you for any help. Shame Apple's documentation and APIs are terrible in areas.

  4 java developers are new to iPod Touch/iPhone app development. They have an idea for an app. They have never used Xcode or Macs before. Instead of spending money for a new iMac or Mac Mini for each of them, my boss would like to sell them a $999 Apple server, hosted at a facility connected a single T1 line, and have all 4 people work remotely in Xcode. Is this feasible? Is anyone doing anything like this? Specifically, is 1 T1 enough for realistic remote app development? Would they have to work in black & white via Logmein or Gotomeeting to get decent speed? Can four people work remotely together on an Xcode project at the same time? Do they absolutely need their own Macs to connect their iPod Touches or iPhones physically to, or can they connect to their existing PCs with iTunes and install their in-development apps that way?

• Best way to create Default.png image for iPhone app

  Originally I though I'll just take a screenshot of my app on the iPhone then tweak it in Photoshop. The images should be 480 x 320 according to Apple doc, and the dimensions of my screenshot are 480 x 320. But, the screenshot contains notification area (where reception bars, battery life, etc. are displayed) So, if I chop that part off my image will be a bit shorter and not 480px high. What do I do? Submit a shorter image? Stretch it up so it's 480px but without the notification bar? Submit it with the notification bar in the image? How did you create your Default.png?
