    Greetings I am hacking Django and trying to test something such as: Like woot.com , I want to sell "an item per day", so only one item will be available for that day (say the default www.mysite.com will be redirected to that item), Assume my urls for calling these items will be such: www.mysite.com/item/<number> my model for item: class Item(models.Model): item_name = models.CharField(max_length=30) price = models.FloatField() content = models.TextField() #keeps all the html content start_time = models.DateTimeField() end_time = models.DateTimeField() And my view for rendering this: def results(request, item_id): item = get_object_or_404(Item, pk=item_id) now = datetime.now() if item.start_time > now: #render and return some "not started yet" error templete elif item.end_time < now: #render and return some "item selling ended" error templete else: # render the real templete for selling this item What would be the efficient and clever model & templete for achieving this ?

  • Application Freezing after some idle time

    Hello, I am developing a software using C# 2.0 which uses about 200MB of memory and occasionally high CPU. The problem is, when i am leaving my machine idle for about 20-30 mins with the application running, after i come back and try to use the application, it freezes for about 2 mins, then becomes interactive. When the user clicks on the school name, i want the code to fetch 2-3 other attributes related to the school name that the user has clicked on.   • Yii: Saving date and time in DB

    I am having trouble saving the date in DB through Model. In my controller, if I dump the date in log that I receive from $_POST , I get the date in this format "10/Nov/2012 07:30". If I use: $AccountAppointment->start_date=Yii::app()->dateFormatter->format($_POST['AccountAppointment']['start_date'], 'dd/M/yyyy HH:mm'); I get the error: Invalid datetime format: 1292 Incorrect datetime value: '10/NoGMT+5/2012 07:30' for column 'start_date' Changing the format in dateFormatter to 'dd/M/yyyy HH:mm' or 'dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm' or 'dd/MMM/yyyy HH:mm' throws the same error. Db is MySQL 5.0, Yii version 1.1.12. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am almost stuck....thanks....

    Hi I have created jdbc mysql connection. my program works fine for simple execution of query. But if i run the same program for more than 10 hour and execute query then i receives the following mysql exception. I have not used close() method anywhere. i created database connection and opened it forever and always execute query. there is no where that i explicitly mentioned timeout for connection. i am unable to identify the problem com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Connection.close() has already been called.   • Dojo load time extremely slow on iis

    I am currently working on a project that is using Dojo as the js framework. Its a rather rich ui and as such is using (and thus loading) a lot of different .js files for the dojo plug-ins When run on an apache server running on a mac, the files (all around 1k) are served very quickly (1 or 2 ms) and the page loads pretty fast (<5 seconds) When run on IIS on Win 7, the files are served at an unbelievably slow rate (150ms - 1s), thus causing the page to take up to 3 minutes to load. I have searched the internet to try to find a solution and have come up empty. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Timeline graph - how to handle "time gaps"?

    I've been working with Google chart API and annotated timeline. Drawing graphs is fine. I have no problem. However, I need to draw a timeline graph for share prices. And as you may know, share prices are meaningful only between certain times (e.g. from 10AM to 4PM, when the market opens and closes). How do I change the Google timeline graph so that on X-Axis, the range is from 10AM-4PM? Right now, it just draws a long constant line between 4PM till 10AM next day before prices start to move again. Man, I hope that makes sens. (Google finance chart seems to do it).     I have build the web application using Java1.5, Struts framework with Mysql database Deployed on the JBOSS4.0.5 Server Every thing seems to be fine when the activity is there on the server. Every morning, If I tried to connect to application, it shows the application is down. Once I restart the server, It works fine. From past 1 month, I am just restarting the server every day.     Hopefully some Custom Control Designers/Builders can help I'm attempting to build my first custom control that is essential a client detail collection form. There are to be a series of elements to this form that require various styles applied to them. Ideally I'd like the VS 2005/2008 properties interface to be able to apply the CSSClass as it does at the control level, i.e. with a dropdown list of available CSS Clases. Take for example the Class to be applied to the legend tag /// <summary>Css Class for Legend</summary> [Category("Appearance")] [Browsable(true)] [DefaultValue("")] //I am at a loss as to what goes in [Editor] [Editor(System.Web.UI.CssStyleCollection), typeof(System.Drawing.Design.UITypeEditor))] public string LegendCSSClass { get { return _LegendCSSClass; } set { _LegendCSSClass = value; } } I have tried a couple of options, as you can see from above, without much luck.     With .NET, I have "Thursday, April 10, 2008 1:30:00 PM" and I want "dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy h:m:s t", "6:09:01 PM" and want ""hh:mm:ss tt", "Fri 29 Aug" and want "ddd d MMM", and so on. It seems I should be able to use DateTimeFormatInfo in some way. I figured I can format the date with each pattern returned by GetAllDateTimePatterns, and when the original date string and the formated date string match then I have the format. Yet, I want to generate custom formats, not the standard formats. I want the format string. I do not want the date. I have both the DateTime value and the formatted string value for the date. I need <formatString> as in ToString(<formatString>).
