• How to get corresponding build artifacts of a job in jenkins ?

  I create Jenkins jobs using hudson.cli.CLI jar. I have selected "Archive the artifacts" option in the "Post-build steps" section. It archives the artifacts on each succesfull build. I am using jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/api/json to get details about jobs. and http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/job_number/api/json to get details about builds. When I delete a build corresponding archived artifacts are not deleted. I'd like to make sure that they are deleted. When I use jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/[job_name]/[job_number]/api/json for a build, it returns json data which contains all previously archived artifacts (other successful builds artifacts) with this (running build) build artifact. How do I get related artifact of a build (a successful build should return its artifact, not all previous successfull artifacts). Any suggestions or ideas ?

• Somewhat newb question about assy and the heap.

  Ultimately I am just trying to figure out how to dynamically allocate heap memory from within assembly. If I call Linux sbrk() from assembly code, can I use the address returned as I would use an address of a statically (ie in the .data section of my program listing) declared chunk of memory? I know Linux uses the hardware MMU if present, so I am not sure if what sbrk returns is a 'raw' pointer to real RAM, or is it a cooked pointer to RAM that may be modified by Linux's VM system? I read this: How are sbrk/brk implemented in Linux?. I suspect I can not use the return value from sbrk() without worry: the MMU fault on access-non-allocated-address must cause the VM to alter the real location in RAM being addressed. Thus assy, not linked against libc or what-have-you, would not know the address has changed. Does this make sense, or am I out to lunch?

• UIPickerView and empty core data array

  I have a viewcontroller showing items from a core data entity. I also have a tableview listing records from the same entity. The table is editable, and the user could remove all the records. When this happens, the view controller holding the pickerview bombs because it's looking for records in an empty array. How to prevent this? • Facebook Like button - comment box with breif description and image

  On my website when the user selects the facebook like button they have the option to enter comments. This popup window to enter comments only contains the users avatar and place to enter comments. How can i include my pic and a brief description of the site directly below the comment??? At first I thought it was from the HTML title attribute or meta property="og:title" ... but populating these have no affect I have another site that contains both pic and a desc below the comment but the pic seems to be grabed at random -but always the same- from the site and the short desc I thought from the -title- attribute but its not - I changed the -title- and it still shows the same desc, its like its cached??? Any ideas how to control or populate a brief description and image within the comment section of a like button???

• iPhone - a question about @property

  Hi, I am kind of newbie on Objective-C and I was looking at a code, trying to understand a few things, and I come across with this .h file: there was a declaration like that on the @interface section MyVideoClass *contrast_; then below we have @property (nonatomic, retain) MyVideoClass *contrast; @property (nonatomic, retain) FetchClass *fetchMe; The strange part is that the first has an underscrore after the name and the second one, doesn't. The other strange thing is that the guy has a call to these properties like this: FetchClass *fetchOne = [self.fetchMe contrast]; What kind of call is that? This seems pretty insane to me. I simply cannot understand what is going on here, but the code works. pretty insane. Can you guys explain me that? Forgive the stupid question, but I am still learning... thanks

• req.getParameter returns values wrong character encoding

  I'm trying to get values from a JSP using getParameter which includes ü,é,à etc. But get wrong values in servlet. I've checked the content type with firebug and found that Content-Type text/html;charset=UTF-8 checked the POST section with firebug and found the correct value there, when I try to access it in servlet it is wrong. Gives ö instead of ö req.getCharacterEncoding(); returns null. Tried with setting req.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8"); at the beginning of servlet but didn't help.

• External html, for headers/navs?

  Hey all, looking to see if theres a way to easily include external html file inside the body to repeat on every page, for instance: a navigator or something. Basically if i have to add a menu item or something, i have to go and paste all the code into each page. Or even a way to section parts off in Dreamweaver to update based on a file or something would work i suppose Ive done it before through JavaScript with document.writes and stuff, but it was very annoying, and probably a terrible way to go about doing so. thanks for your help!

• MooTools Problem in IE with Request

  I have this class method in a mootools class: getData : function(){ var r = new Request.JSON({ url : this.container.getAttribute('data-url'), method : 'post', onSuccess : function(j){ this.cards = j; this.prepareQuiz(); }.bind(this) }).send(); }, In any browser aside from IE this works fine, but in IE I get a this.cards is not defined in a method that occurs after the this.prepareQuiz method does it's stuff. I narrowed the problem to this section by adding an if ($defined(this.cards)) before the this.prepareQuiz call and if I just keep refreshing the page 1 out of every 5 or so times it will work. So the this.cards variable is not being set some of the time for some reason. Why would this happen?

  At the end of the README.txt file which is located in the example directory under solr, I find this line: NOTE: This Solr example server references SolrCell jars outside of the server directory with statements in the solrconfig.xml. If you make a copy of this example server and wish to use the ExtractingRequestHandler (SolrCell), you will need to copy the required jars into solr/lib or update the paths to the jars in your solrconfig.xml What does this mean? Do I have to make some adjustment before uploading solr to my server? Also, if you know, what is Solr-nightly:s difference to regular solr? The tutorial states "solr-nightly.zip" but on their download section I cant find it.

  I too often answer the same kind of questions regarding basic topics like memory management, UITableView, Interface Orientation, MVC, etc... I understand very well that everyone starting with that SDK is too exited about getting its hand on it but a few reading would save them hours of debugging and the frustration that come along with the feeling that "We miss something here". I'd like experience users to share the few small articles, white papers, docs, book chapters that helps other save their time and avoid frustration. My first vote would be for : IOS Memory Management Guide View Controller Programming Guide Table View Guide And as a General recommendation, read the Overview section that come along with every class documention in the reference library, they contains most of what you need to know to avoid big traps !

• Is a program compiled with -g gcc flag slower than the same program compiled without -g?

  I'm compiling a program with -O3 for performance and -g for debug symbols (in case of crash I can use the core dump). One thing bothers me a lot, does the -g option results in a performance penalty? When I look on the output of the compilation with and without -g, I see that the output without -g is 80% smaller than the output of the compilation with -g. If the extra space goes for the debug symbols, I don't care about it (I guess) since this part is not used during runtime. But if for each instruction in the compilation output without -g I need to do 4 more instructions in the compilation output with -g than I certainly prefer to stop using -g option even at the cost of not being able to process core dumps. How to know the size of the debug symbols section inside the program and in general does compilation with -g creates a program which runs slower than the same code compiled without -g?

• What segments does C compiled program use?

  Hi, I read on OSDev wiki, that protected mode of x86 architecture allow you to create separate segments for code and data, while you cannot write into code section. That Windows (yes, this is the platform) loads new code into code segment, and data are created on data segment. But, if this is the case, how does program know it must switch segments to the data segment? Becouse if I understand it right, all adress instructions point to the segment you run the code from, unless you switch the descriptor. But I also read, that so colled flat memory model allows you to run code and data within one segment. But I read this only in connection to assembler. So, please, what is the case with C compiled code on Windows? Thanks.

  I have a form with 3 sections in it. Each section has a dedicated div for fairly long contextual help messages regarding the input that has focus. My question is, if I give each of these help divs a class of "form-tip" and each input that has a tip the class "has-tip", how can I get the tip to always show up in the previous "form-tip" div? Something like: $('.has-tip').each(focus(function() { var tip = $(this).attr('title'); // Find most recent $('.form-tip') in the DOM and populate it with tip })); I hope that makes sense... • Maven workspace resolution horked

  I'm using m2eclipse to manage maven projects. Somehow I did a bad thing, and now the system is behaving as if workspace resolution is disabled. I have several projects that depend on a main project. This project has a version of 4.0-SNAPSHOT, and all the dependent projects reference it in the dependencies section of their poms. Everything was working fine until I created an entirely new project and mistakenly copied the pom from the main project into the new project. Suddenly, all of the dependent projects got the error: "The container 'Maven Dependencies" references non existing library C:\users\myusername.m2\com\mydomain\myproject\4.0-SNAPSHOT\myproject-4.0-SNAPSHOT.jar I zapped the offending new project, but the error remains for all the dependent projects. I've made no changes (to my knowledge) in the main project or any of the dependent projects, so I'm guessing something got changed in the Eclipse environment. Does m2eclipse or Maven itself maintain settings anywhere that I can blow away?

  Hi there. I am using a ge_called_class hack for allowing late static binding in php version 5.2 (found here). I have the following in my code: # db_record.php $ac = "ForumThread"; $objects = $ac::find("all"); This will not work in php 5.2 for some reason, so I have done this: # db_record.php $ac = "ForumThread"; eval("\$objects = {$ac}::find('all');"); This on the other hand will not work with the get_called_class function. I get an error that the file function can't read the evaled section of code. So how do I solve this problem? Best regards.

• "Use windows xp style dpi scaling" disables automatic auto-hide of taskbar on W7. Workaround?

  We noticed that on W7 with DPI set to 125% or to 100% with ("Use windows xp style dpi scaling") turned off, our fullscreen mode (which sets the client rect of our window = desktop rect of the main monitor) no longer hides the task bar like it does for other settings. (The setting can be found in the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display section after clicking on the "Set custom text size (DPI)" link) I found the following interesting article: http://www.mathies.com/weblog/?p=908 So I set out to try to work around the bug in other means than manually hiding/restoring the taskbar visibility but so far I've failed and currently believe it's a bug in W7 (and possibly vista). The following applications also fail to work properly in fullscreen mode (the taskbar is still visible): * Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 * Microsoft Word 2007 * Adobe Reader 9.1.3 These apps work (probably by hiding the task bar through the WIN32 API): * Powerpoint Slide Show I also tried creating a brand new MFC-based app and use its "SetFullScreenMode()" functionality but it fails in the same way as all other apps on the list.   Hi! I have setup subversion 1.6.5 on Fedora. I have decided to use a single repository for multiple projects. I have added one project, projA, to the repository. I will have more projects to add to the repository in future. If I try to add next project with the command 'svn import . file:///path/to/repos' gives svn: File already exists: filesystem '/usr/local/svn-repos/proj-test/db', transa ction '1-1', path '/trunk'. The new projB is being added to the trunk directory of projA. I have read the section "Adding Projects" in http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch05s04.html In that book, projects are added at once. But,I would like to add them one by one as new projects become ready to go. What is the proper command and/or how that can be done? Thanks. Banani

  According to Google, I must "Deactivate any calls to Log methods in the source code" before publishing my Android app (section 4 of the publication checklist). My open-source project is large and it is a pain to do it manually every time I release. Additionally, removing a Log line is potentially tricky, for instance: if(condition) Log.d(LOG_TAG, "Something"); data.load(); data.show(); If I comment the Log line, then the condition applies to the next line, and chances are load() is not called. Are such situations rare enough that I can decide it should exist? This is on the official checklist, so I guess many people do this on a regular basis. So, is there a tool that removes all Log lines? Preferably one that is not tricked by code like the above.
