  • Problem deploying portlets on JBoss Portal 2.7.2: Not a canonical value

    I just downloaded the JBoss Portal Server 2.7.2 (JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2.3 bundle to be precise) and tried deploying portlets just as the SimpleHelloWorld provided in the samples. The portlet gets deployed fine but when I put it on a page I get the following exception. I tried adding other Portlets as well (such as the booking MVC portelt supplied with Spring WebFlow dist) but the same problem happens. The problem happens when the new instances are created by me, example when i create a new instance of CMS Portlet, I get the same error. If I use an existing instance it works. If I deploy a portlet that creates an instance using the "portle-instances.xml" then it works fine, but creating additional instances using the Admin and deploying them on page fails due to the following error. What am I doing wrong?   • how would you debug this javascript problem?

    I've been travelling and developing for the past few weeks. The site I'm developing was running well. Then, the other day, i connected to a network and the page 'looked' fine, but it turns out the javascript wasn't running. I checked firebug, and there were no errors, as I was suspecting that maybe a script didn't load (I'm using the google api for jQuery and jQuery UI, as well as loading google maps api and fbconnect). I would suspect that if the issue was with one of these pages not loading I would get an error, and yet there was nothing. Thinking maybe i didn't connect properly or something, i reconnected to the network and even restarted my computer, as well as trying to run the local version. I got nothing. The local version not running also hinted to me that it was the loading of an external javascript which caused the problem. I let it pass as something strange with that one network. Unfortunately now I'm 100s of miles away. Today my brother sent me an e-mail that the network he was on at the airport wouldn't load my page. Same issue. Everything is laid out properly, and part of the layout is set in Javascript, so clearly javascript is running. he too got no errors. Of course, he got on his plane, and now he is no longer at the airport. Now the site works on his computer (and i haven't changed anything). How on earth would you go about figuring out what happened in this situation? That is two of maybe 12 or so networks. But I have no idea how i would find a network that doesn't work (and living in a small town, it could be difficult for me to find a network that doesn't work). Any ideas? The site is still in Dev, so I'd rather not post a link just yet (but could in a few days). What I can see not working is the javascript functions which are called on load, and on click. So i do think it is a javascript issue, but no errors. This wouldn't be as HUGE an issue if I could find and sit on one of these networks, but I can't. So what would you do? My brother couldn't run it earlier today while I had no problems, so it was something to do with his location/network. HOWEVER, the page loads, he had a connection, it was his first time visiting the site, so nothing could have been cashed. Same with when I had the issue a few days before. I didn't change anything, and I got to a different network and everything worked fine.

  • UITableview has problem reloading

    Hi guys, I've kinda finished my application for a school project but have run into a major "bug". It's a account management application. I'm unable to insert a picture here so here's a link: http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/seelani/Screenshot2010-12-22atPM075512.png Here's the problem when i click on the plus sign, i push a nav controller to load another view to handle the adding and deleting of categories. When i add and return back to the view above, it doesn't update. It only updates after i hit the button on the right which is another view used to change some settings, and return back to the page. I did some research on viewWillAppear and such but I'm still confused to why it doesn't work properly. This problem is also affecting my program when i delete a category, and return back to this view it crashes cos the view has not reloaded successfully. I will get this error when deleting and returning to the view. To solve that problem I have created other three lists & have given only reference of those previous lists. So, now no database fetching occur.   • Core Data migration problem: "Persistent store migration failed, missing source managed object model

    The Background A Cocoa Non Document Core Data project with two Managed Object Models. Model 1 stays the same. Model 2 has changed, so I want to migrate the store. I've created a new version by Design Data Model Add Model Version in Xcode. The difference between versions is a single relationship that's been changed from to a one to many. I've made my changes to the model, then saved. I've made a new Mapping Model that has the old model as a source and new model as a destination. I've ensured all Mapping Models and Data Models and are being compiled and all are copied to the Resource folder of my app bundle. I've switched on migrations by passing in a dictionary with the NSMigratePersistentStoresAutomaticallyOption key as [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES] when adding the Persistent Store. Rather than merging all models in the bundle, I've specified the two models I want to use (model 1 and the new version of model 2) and merged them using modelByMergingModels: The Problem No matter what I do to migrate, I get the error message: "Persistent store migration failed, missing source managed object model." What I've Tried I clean after every single build. I've tried various combinations of having only the model I'm migrating to in Resources, being compiled, or both. Since the error message implies it can't find the source model for my migration, I've tried having every version of the model in both the Resources folder and being compiled. I've made sure I'm not making a really basic error by switching back to the original version of my data model. The app runs fine. I've deleted the Mapping Model and the new version of the model, cleaned, then recreated both. I've tried making a different change in the new model - deleting an entity instead. I'm at my wits end. I can't help but think I've made a huge mistake somewhere that I'm not seeing. Any ideas?

    I have N people who must each take T exams. Each exam takes "some" time, e.g. 30 min (no such thing as finishing early). Exams must be performed in front of an examiner. I need to schedule each person to take each exam in front of an examiner within an overall time period, using the minimum number of examiners for the minimum amount of time (i.e. no examiners idle) There are the following restrictions: No person can be in 2 places at once each person must take each exam once noone should be examined by the same examiner twice I realise that an optimal solution is probably NP-Complete, and that I'm probably best off using a genetic algorithm to obtain a best estimate (similar to this? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/184195/seating-plan-software-recommendations-does-such-a-beast-even-exist). I'm comfortable with how genetic algorithms work, what i'm struggling with is how to model the problem programatically such that i CAN manipulate the parameters genetically.. If each exam took the same amount of time, then i'd divide the time period up into these lengths, and simply create a matrix of time slots vs examiners and drop the candidates in. However because the times of each test are not necessarily the same, i'm a bit lost on how to approach this. currently im doing this: make a list of all "tests" which need to take place, between every candidate and exam start with as many examiners as there are tests repeatedly loop over all examiners, for each one: find an unscheduled test which is eligible for the examiner (based on the restrictions) continue until all tests that can be scheduled, are if there are any unscheduled tests, increment the number of examiners and start again. i'm looking for better suggestions on how to approach this, as it feels rather crude currently.

  • OpenCV Video capture and fps problem

    Hi to all, I'm capturing video from my webcam using OpenCV on MacOSX. It works fine but when I try to play on QuickTime my captured video it plays too fast. i.e. I capture from camera for 10 seconds but when I play on QuickTime the video is 2 seconds. I've tried to change fps from 25 to 10 and It's works quite fine, but I'm sure it's not the correct process: CvVideoWriter *writer = 0; int isColor = 1; int fps = 25; int frameW = 640; // 744 for firewire cameras int frameH = 480; // 480 for firewire cameras The problem is that for now I've to capture with WebCam but the real pourpose of program is to capture image from any external source connected to my Mac.   • Scrollbar problem with jquery ui dialog in Chrome and Safari

    I'm using the jquery ui dialog with modal=true. In Chrome and Safari, this disables scrolling via the scroll bar and cursor keys (scrolling with the mouse wheel and page up/down still works). This is a problem if the dialog is too tall to fit on one page - users on a laptop get frustrated. Someone raised this three months ago on the jquery bug tracker - http://dev.jqueryui.com/ticket/4671 - it doesn't look like fixing it is a priority. :) So does anyone (i) have a fix for this? (ii) have a suggested workaround that would give a decent usability experience? I'm experimenting with mouseover / scrollto on bits of the form, but it's not a great solution :( EDIT: props to Rowan Beentje (who's not on SO afaict) for finding a solution to this. jQueryUI prevents scrolling by capturing the mouseup / mousedown events.   • wpf 4.0 datagrid template column two-way binding problem

    Hello all! I'm using the datagrid from wpf 4.0. This has a TemplateColumn containing a checkbox. The IsChecked property of the checkbox is set via binding. The problem is that even if I specify the binding mode explicitly to be TwoWay, it works only in one direction. I have to mention that the same code works perfectly in .net 3.5 with the datagrid from the wpf toolkit. Please take a look at the .xaml and .cs contents.     I have an application that downloads/parses a big XML file and store the information using core data (approx. 4000 objects (entities)). The XML is loaded/parsed in a different thread, which has its own NSManagedObjectContext. I have a simple integer to keep track of the entities the application creates compared to the insertedObjects property in the NSManagedObjectContext before saving, and when I get the error, these numbers do not match, insertedObjects in the NSManagedObjectContext is missing about 10 entities. I do not know how I should continue to investigate this problem, anyone has any idea how to fix this? Thanks /oscar

    I have a legacy atl app that hosts a webbrowser control in an ATL window. The call to navigate2 works and if I look at the window via spy++ I have Shell Embedding - Shell DocObject View - Internet Explorer_Server. When a popup occurs (detected through NewWindow3) I launch a new window and execute the same code sequence for the new window. In the popup window the navigate2 doesnt work, and when I look at this new window in spy++ I just have Shell Embedding. I get the same problem even if I instantiate the popup window on startup, so its not related to NewWindow3 at all - it seems the second instance of the web control isnt instantiating even though all the calls return S_OK. This sequence worked fine under IE7 but now I am using IE8 and the popup window isnt working. There is clearly something I am missing but I cant guess what it may be. Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.

    I have problem with JDBC application that uses MONEY data type. When I insert into MONEY column: insert into _money_test (amt) values ('123.45') I got exception: Character to numeric conversion error The same SQL works from native Windows application using ODBC driver. I live in Poland and have Polish locale and in my country comma separates decimal part of number, so I tried: insert into _money_test (amt) values ('123,45') And it worked. I checked that in PreparedStatement I must use dot separator: 123.45. And of course I can use: insert into _money_test (amt) values (123.45) But some code is "general", it imports data from csv file and it was safe to put number into string literal. How to force JDBC to use DBMONEY (or simply dot) in literals? My workstation is WinXP. I have ODBC and JDBC Informix client in version 3.50 TC5/JC5. I have set DBMONEY to just dot: DBMONEY=.   • Complex SQL Query similar to a z order problem

    I have a complex SQL problem in MS SQL Server, and in drawing on a piece of paper I realized that I could think of it as a single bar filled with rectangles, each rectangle having segments with different Z orders. In reality it has nothing to do with z order or graphics at all, but more to do with some complex business rules that would be difficult to explain. Howoever, if anyone has ideas on how to solve the below that will give me my solution. I have the following data: ObjectID, PercentOfBar, ZOrder (where smaller is closer) A, 100, 6 B, 50, 5 B, 50, 4 C, 30, 3 C, 70, 6 The result of my query that I want is this, in any order: PercentOfBar, ZOrder 50, 5 20, 4 30, 3 Think of it like this, if I drew rectangle A, it would fill 100% of the bar and have a z order of 6. 66666666666 AAAAAAAAAAA If I then layed out rectangle B, consisting of two segments, both segments would cover up rectangle A resulting in the following rendering: 4444455555 BBBBBBBBBB As a rule of thumb, for a given rectangle, it's segments should be layed out such that the highest z order is to the right of the lower Z orders. Finally rectangle C would cover up only portions of Rectangle B with it's 30% segment that is z order 3, which would be on the left. You can hopefully see how the is represented in the output dataset I listed above: 3334455555 CCCBBBBBBB Now to make things more complicated I actually have a 4th column such that this grouping occurs for each key: Input: SomeKey, ObjectID, PercentOfBar, ZOrder (where smaller is closer) X, A, 100, 6 X, B, 50, 5 X, B, 50, 4 X, C, 30, 3 X, C, 70, 6 Y, A, 100, 6 Z, B, 50, 2 Z, B, 50, 6 Z, C, 100, 5 Output: SomeKey, PercentOfBar, ZOrder X, 50, 5 X, 20, 4 X, 30, 3 Y, 100, 6 Z, 50, 2 Z, 50, 5 Notice in the output, the PercentOfBar for each SomeKey would add up to 100%. This is one I know I'm going to be thinking about when I go to bed tonight. Just to be explicit and have a question: What would be a query that would produce the results described above?

  • Problem using FtpWebRequest to append to file on a mainframe

    I am using FtpWebRequest to append data to a mainframe file. Each record appended is 50 characters long, and I am adding them one record at a time. In our development environment, we do not have a mainframe, so my code was written and tested FTPing to a Windows-based FTP site instead of a mainframe. Initially, I was writing each record using a StreamWriter (using the stream from the FtpWebRequest) and writing each record using WriteLine (which automatically adds a CR/LF to the end). When we ran this for the first time in the test environment (in which we're writing to an actual MVS mainframe), our mainframe contact said the CR/LFs were not able to be read by his program (a green-screen mainframe program of some sort - he's sent me screen captures, which is all I know of it). I changed our code to use Write instead of WriteLine, but now my code executes successfully (i.e no thrown exceptions) when writing multiple records, but no matter how many records we append, he is only able to "see" the first record - according to his mainframe program, there is only one 50-character record in the file. I'm guessing that to fix this, I need to write some other line-delimiting character into the end of the stream (instead of CR/LF) that the mainframe will recognize as a record delimiter. Anybody know what this is, or how else I can fix this problem?
