  • AvalonDock + UserControl + DataGrid + ContextMenu command routing issue

    - by repka
    I have this kind of layout: <Window x:Class="DockAndMenuTest.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:ad="clr-namespace:AvalonDock;assembly=AvalonDock" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <ad:DockingManager> <ad:DocumentPane> <ad:DockableContent Title="Doh!"> <UserControl> <UserControl.CommandBindings> <CommandBinding Command="Zoom" Executed="ExecuteZoom" CanExecute="CanZoom"/> </UserControl.CommandBindings> <DataGrid Name="_evilGrid"> <DataGrid.Resources> <Style TargetType="DataGridRow"> <Setter Property="ContextMenu"> <Setter.Value> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Command="Zoom"/> </ContextMenu> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </DataGrid.Resources> </DataGrid> </UserControl> </ad:DockableContent> </ad:DocumentPane> </ad:DockingManager> </Window> Briefly: ContextMenu is set for each DataGridRow of DataGrid inside UserControl, which in its turn is inside DockableContent of AvalonDock. Code-behind is trivial as well: public partial class MainWindow { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); _evilGrid.ItemsSource = new[] { Tuple.Create(1, 2, 3), Tuple.Create(4, 4, 3), Tuple.Create(6, 7, 1), }; } private void ExecuteZoom(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("zoom !"); } private void CanZoom(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { e.CanExecute = true; } } So here's the problem: right-clicking on the selected row (if it it was selected before the right click) my command comes out disabled. The command is "Zoom" in this case, but can be any other, including a custom one. If I get rid of either docking or UserControl around my grid there are no problems. ListBox doesn't have this issue either. So I don't know what's at fault here. SNOOP shows that in cases when this propagation fails, instead of UserControl, CanExecute is handled by PART_ShowContextMenuButton (Button), which is part of docking header. I've had other issues with UI command propagation within UserControls hosted inside AvalonDock, but this one is the easiest to reproduce.

  • How to hide the border around child window

    - by Subhen
    Hi, I have a child Window , and I am displaying it from the code behind as below: ChildPhotoViewer PhotoViewer = new ChildPhotoViewer(); PhotoViewer.DataContext = selectedPhoto; PhotoViewer.Title = selectedPhoto.strTitle.ToString(); PhotoViewer.Show(); But While Displaying the child window I am getting the Close Button and a Border thickness arround the Window. I am able to hide the Close Button but is there a way to hide the thickness(Border) across the child window. Thanks, Subhen

  • Can I set the base path outside of my application directory when binding an image source path to a r

    - by zimmer62
    So I'm trying to display an image that is ouside the path of my application. I only have a relative image path such as "images/background.png" but my images are somewhere else, I might want to choose that base location at runtime so that the binding maps to the proper folder. Such as "e:\data\images\background.png" or "e:\data\theme\images\background.png" <Image Source="{Binding Path=ImagePathWithRelativePath}"/> Is there any way to specify either in XAML or code behind a base directory for those images?

  • When using ItemsControl ItemsControl.ItemsPanel is set to Canvas, ContenPresenter comes in and break

    - by code-zoop
    I am using an ItemsControl where the ItemsPanel is set to Canvas (see this question for more background information). The ItemsControl is performing as I want, and it works like a charm when adding a child element manually by putting it into ItemsControl.Items: <ItemsControl> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Canvas IsItemsHost="True" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.Items> <Button Canvas.Left="500" Content="Button Text" /> </ItemsControl.Items> </ItemsControl> Note the Canvas.Left property on the Button. This works like a charm, and the Button is placed 500 pixels from the left of the ItemsControl left side. Great! However, When I am defining a ItemsSource binding to a List, the Canvas.left doesn't have any effect: <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Elements}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Canvas IsItemsHost="True" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Button Canvas.Left="500" Content="Button Text" /> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> By inspecting the application during run time, I see one difference. The container ContentPresenter has been added between the Canvas and the button.. How can I set the Canvas.Left property on the ContentPresenter itself? Or is there another way to solve this problem? Thanks to all!

  • Master Details and collectionViewSource in separate views cannot make it work.

    - by devnet247
    Hi all, I really cannot seem to make/understand how it works with separate views It all works fine if a bundle all together in a single window. I have a list of Countries-Cities-etc... When you select a country it should load it's cities. Works So I bind 3 listboxes successfully using collection sources and no codebehind more or less (just code to set the datacontext and selectionChanged). you can download the project here http://cid-9db5ae91a2948485.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/PublicFolder/2MasterDetails.zip <Window.Resources> <CollectionViewSource Source="{Binding}" x:Key="cvsCountryList"/> <CollectionViewSource Source="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsCountryList},Path=Cities}" x:Key="cvsCityList"/> <CollectionViewSource Source="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsCityList},Path=Hotels}" x:Key="cvsHotelList"/> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition/> <ColumnDefinition/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0" Text="Countries"/> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="0" Text="Cities"/> <TextBlock Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="0" Text="Hotels"/> <ListBox Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="1" Name="lstCountries" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsCountryList}}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectionChanged="OnSelectionChanged"/> <ListBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" Name="lstCities" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsCityList}}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectionChanged="OnSelectionChanged"/> <ListBox Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="1" Name="lstHotels" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsHotelList}}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectionChanged="OnSelectionChanged"/> </Grid> Does not work I am trying to implement the same using a view for each eg(LeftSideMasterControl -RightSideDetailsControls) However I cannot seem to make them bind. Can you help?   • RDLC: Is there a way to print multiple tables without SubReports?

    - by Eduardo Molteni
    I'm generating the RDLC XML schema and showing the report in the ReportViewer control. No problems there. Now, I want a report with 2 tables, with 2 differents dataset. Something like this gets generated: <Body> <ReportItems> <Table Name="Table1"> .... </Table> <Table Name="Table2"> .... </Table> </ReportItems> </Body> But, when printed, both tables start from the top, printing on table over the other (not nice) Is there a way to tell that Table2 should start after Table1? Update: I've tried with List with a fake DataSource, but it does not work.

  • MVVM, ContextMenus and binding to ViewModel defined Command

    - by Simon Fox
    Hi I am having problems with the binding of a ContextMenu command to an ICommand property in my ViewModel. The binding seems to be attaching fine...i.e when I inspect the value of the ICommand property it is bound to an instance of RelayCommand. The CanExecute delegate does get invoked, however when I open the context menu and select an item the Execute delegate does not get invoked. Heres my View (which is defined as the DataTemplate to use for instances of the following ViewModel in a resource dictionary): <UserControl x:Class="SmartSystems.DragDropProto.ProductLinkView" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:Proto"> <UserControl.Resources> <local:CenteringConverter x:Key="centeringConvertor"> </local:CenteringConverter> </UserControl.Resources> <UserControl.ContextMenu> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Command="{Binding ChangeColor}">Change Color</MenuItem> </ContextMenu> </UserControl.ContextMenu> <Canvas> <Ellipse Width="5" Height="5" > <Ellipse.Fill> <SolidColorBrush Color="{Binding LinkColor}"></SolidColorBrush> </Ellipse.Fill> <Ellipse.RenderTransform> <TranslateTransform X="{Binding EndpointOneXPos, Converter={StaticResource centeringConvertor}}" Y="{Binding EndpointOneYPos, Converter={StaticResource centeringConvertor}}"/> </Ellipse.RenderTransform> </Ellipse> <Line X1="{Binding Path=EndpointOneXPos}" Y1="{Binding Path=EndpointOneYPos}" X2="{Binding Path=EndpointTwoXPos}" Y2="{Binding Path=EndpointTwoYPos}"> <Line.Stroke> <SolidColorBrush Color="{Binding LinkColor}"></SolidColorBrush> </Line.Stroke> </Line> <Ellipse Width="5" Height="5" > <Ellipse.Fill> <SolidColorBrush Color="{Binding LinkColor}"></SolidColorBrush> </Ellipse.Fill> <Ellipse.RenderTransform> <TranslateTransform X="{Binding EndpointTwoXPos, Converter={StaticResource centeringConvertor}}" Y="{Binding EndpointTwoYPos, Converter={StaticResource centeringConvertor}}"/> </Ellipse.RenderTransform> </Ellipse> </Canvas> </UserControl> and ViewModel (with uneccessary implementation details removed): class ProductLinkViewModel : BaseViewModel { public ICommand ChangeColor { get; private set; } public Color LinkColor { get; private set; } public ProductLinkViewModel(....) { ... ChangeColor = new RelayCommand(ChangeColorAction); LinkColor = Colors.Blue; } private void ChangeColorAction(object param) { LinkColor = LinkColor == Colors.Blue ?   • How to animate CornerRadius property with four distinct values - "0,0,0,0" to "0,0,10,10" ?

    - by banzai
    Hi all I have to transition the CornerRadius property of a Border from value "0,0,0,0" to value "0,0,10,10" via an animation. This must be done directly in the XAML file w/o using code behind other than a ValueConverter or similar. I think CornerRadius is animatable using an ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames - but how to animate just two of the four values of the CornerRadius structure ? Thanks in advance !

  • Channel Audio from .mp4?

    - by Kyle
    Hi there. I am at a loss here after searching around with no results. I am attempting to channel the audio specifically from an .mp4 for use in a driver. I am aware that there are programs which extract the audio from .mp4's, but I am looking for another approach without using external applications such as those.. is there any direction that someone can point me towards to solve this problem? Thanks, -K

  • Why is the SelectTemplate Method run 2 times in debug mode?

The first time the item is always null. public class PersonDataTemplateSelector : DataTemplateSelector { public override DataTemplate SelectTemplate(object item,DependencyObject container) { if (item is Person) { Person person = item as Person; Window window = Application.Current.MainWindow; if (System.ComponentModel.DesignerProperties.GetIsInDesignMode( window)) return null; if (person.Gender == "male") return window.FindResource("boysViewTemplate") as DataTemplate; else return window.FindResource("girlsViewTemplate") as DataTemplate; } return null; } }

  • ModelVisual3D vs Model3DGroup

    - by bitbonk
    Is there any disadvantage of using ModelVisual3D over Model3DGroup. How much can the resource/performance impact possibly be? ModelVisual3D gives me much more than Model3DGroup does but AFAIK everything that can be done with Model3DGroup can alos be done with ModelVisual3D. So why not just always use ModelVisual3D?

  • Change made in the Converter will notify the change in the bound property?

    - by Kishore Kumar
    I have two property FirstName and LastName and bound to a textblock using Multibinidng and converter to display the FullName as FirstName + Last Name. FirstName="Kishore" LastName="Kumar" In the Converter I changed the LastName as "Changed Text" values[1] = "Changed Text"; After executing the Converter my TextBlock will show "Kishore Changed Text" but Dependency property LastName is still have the last value "Kumar". Why I am not getting the "Changed Text" value in the LastName property after the execution?. Will the change made at converter will notify the bound property? <Window.Resources> <local:NameConverter x:Key="NameConverter"></local:NameConverter> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <TextBlock> <TextBlock.Text> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource NameConverter}"> <Binding Path="FirstName"></Binding> <Binding Path="LastName"></Binding> </MultiBinding> </TextBlock.Text> </TextBlock> </Grid> Converter: public class NameConverter:IMultiValueConverter { #region IMultiValueConverter Members public object Convert(object[] values, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { values[1] = "Changed Text"; return values[0].ToString() + " " + values[1].ToString(); } public object[] ConvertBack(object value, Type[] targetTypes, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } #endregion }

  • Performance of DrawingVisual vs Canvas.OnRender for lots of constantly changing shapes

    - by romkyns
    I'm working on a game-like app which has up to a thousand shapes (ellipses and lines) that constantly change at 60fps. Having read an excellent article on rendering many moving shapes, I implemented this using a custom Canvas descendant that overrides OnRender to do the drawing via a DrawingContext. The performance is quite reasonable, although the CPU usage stays high. However, the article suggests that the most efficient approach for constantly moving shapes is to use lots of DrawingVisual instances instead of OnRender. Unfortunately though it doesn't explain why that should be faster for this scenario. Changing the implementation in this way is not a small effort, so I'd like to understand the reasons and whether they are applicable to me before deciding to make the switch. Why could the DrawingVisual approach result in lower CPU usage than the OnRender approach in this scenario?

  • Problem with a chart with a polyline and a LinearGradientBrush

    - by Maurizio Reginelli
    I have a graph with a polyline contained into a canvas. I would like to set the stroke of the polyline starting from a color at the bottom and ending to another color on top. I tried with this xaml: <Polyline StrokeThickness="2"> <Polyline.Stroke> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0.5,1" EndPoint="0.5,0"> <GradientStop Color="Blue" Offset="0" /> <GradientStop Color="Cyan" Offset="1" /> </LinearGradientBrush> </Polyline.Stroke> </Polyline> In this way it works but the height of the gradient is equal to the height of the polyline. I mean, if I have a polyline which goes from the bottom of the canvas to its top, the gradient is applied over the entire height of the canvas. If I have instead a horizontal polyline, the gradient is applied to its thickness. I would like to have a gradient height equal to the canvas height, independently from the polyline height. How can I achieve this?

  • Is it possible to disable a ScrollViewer from inside the ScrollViewer?

    - by gehho
    From a UserControl, I would like to disable a ScrollViewer which is defined one level higher. My scenario looks something like this: <!-- ... --> <ScrollViewer VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled"> <custom:MyUserControl ... /> </ScrollViewer> Now, I would like to disable the ScrollViewer from within MyUserControl. Is this possible? Background: I have defined a custom TabControl style where I added a ScrollViewer for each item's content automatically. However, in one case, I do not want to use that ScrollViewer, but rather make the content size to the available space, whereas in all other cases I do want to use the ScrollViewer. Any ideas? Of course, I could add a ScrollViewer to every tab item manually, except for the one item, but that is not what I want.

  • Chain of DataBinding

    - by Neir0
    Hello I am trying to do follow DataBinding Property -> DependencyProperty -> Property But i have trouble. For example, We have simple class with two properties implements INotifyPropertyChanged: public class MyClass : INotifyPropertyChanged { private string _num1; public string Num1 { get { return _num1; } set { _num1 = value; OnPropertyChanged("Num1"); } } private string _num2; public string Num2 { get { return _num2; } set { _num2 = value; OnPropertyChanged("Num2"); } } public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; public void OnPropertyChanged(string e) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(e)); } } And TextBlock declared in xaml: <TextBlock Name="tb" FontSize="20" Foreground="Red" Text="qwerqwerwqer" /> Now lets trying to bind Num1 to tb.Text: private MyClass _myClass = new MyClass(); public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); Binding binding1 = new Binding("Num1") { Source = _myClass, Mode = BindingMode.OneWay }; Binding binding2 = new Binding("Num2") { Source = _myClass, Mode = BindingMode.TwoWay }; tb.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, binding1); //tb.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, binding2); var timer = new Timer(500) {Enabled = true,}; timer.Elapsed += (sender, args) => _myClass.Num1 += "a"; timer.Start(); } It works well. But if we uncomment this string tb.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, binding2); then TextBlock display nothing. DataBinding doesn't work! How can i to do what i want?

  • Using the MVVM Light Toolkit to make Blendable applications

    - by Dave
    A while ago, I posted a question regarding switching between a Blend-authored GUI and a Visual Studio-authored one. I got it to work okay by adding my Blend project to my VS2008 project and then changing the Startup Application and recompiling. This would result in two applications that had completely different GUIs, yet used the exact same ViewModel and Model code. I was pretty happy with that. Now that I've learned about the Laurent Bugnion's MVVM Light Toolkit, I would really like to leverage his efforts to make this process of supporting multiple GUIs for the same backend code possible. The question is, does the toolkit facilate this, or am I stuck doing it my previous way? I've watched his video from MIX10 and have read some of the articles about it online. However, I've yet to see something that indicates that there is a clean way to allow a user to either dynamically switch GUIs on the fly by loading a different DLL. There are MVVM templates for VS2008 and Blend 3, but am I supposed to create both types of projects for my application and then reference specific files from my VS2008 solution? UPDATE I re-read some information on Laurent's site, and seemed to have forgotten that the whole point of the template was to allow the same solution to be opened in VS2008 and Blend. So anyhow, with this new perspective it looks like the templates are actually intended to use a single GUI, most likely designed entirely in Blend (with the convenience of debugging through VS2008), and then be able to use two different ViewModels -- one for design-time, and one for runtime. So it seems to me like the answer to my question is that I want to use a combination of my previous solution, along with the MVVM Light Toolkit. The former will allow me to make multiple, distinct GUIs around my core code, while the latter will make designing fancy GUIs in Blend easier with the usage of a design-time ViewModel. Can anyone comment on this?

  • Text orientation

    - by Psytronic
    Hi Guys I know you can do this to get vertical text in a tab header: <Window x:Class="Abodemploy.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300" <Grid <TabControl Margin="0" Name="tabControl1" FlowDirection="LeftToRight" TabStripPlacement="Left" <TabItem <TabItem.Header <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" <TextBlockHomes</TextBlock </StackPanel </TabItem.Header <TabItem.LayoutTransform <TransformGroup <RotateTransform Angle="90" / </TransformGroup </TabItem.LayoutTransform <Grid / </TabItem </TabControl </Grid </Window However the text letters are sideways. What I'd like (if possible) is for the letter orientation to be correct (ie upwards), but the text flow downwards, is this possible, or am I just dreaming the impossible dream? Thanks Psy

  • How do you handle the deletion of your model working with ViewModels and keeping them in sync ?

    - by Lisa
    Hello, these could be my entity relations: 1 Pupil has 1 Chair 1 Pupil has N Documents 1 Pupil has N Marks 1 Pupil has N IncidentReports etc... So with that sample I get 4 IEnumerable from my database put each into an ObservableCollection. Now I have 4 different Views each bound to one of those 4 collections. Lets assume I delete a single PupilViewModel in the AdministrationController which is the only View where I can delete a PupilViewModel. Now I have to inform 3 other Controller and their ObservableCollections about the one deleted PupilViewModel to keep the whole application synchronized... thats stupid somehow. Do you have any good advice on that scenario? AND it gets even worse. If I delete a schoolclass I have to sync the pupils everywhere AND the documents or incidentreports or marks... gush... o_O
