Hi,
Has anyone got any suggestions on where to start with building a google map into a rails app? I would like users to be able to add a marker by clicking the map, and have spent a few days looking for a suitable tutorial or plugin (beyond ym4r), to little avail...any help would be much appreciated!
Hi, i am building a context menu for a WPF c# application and just for simplicity's sake, if i have text and then i add an image, the text is always aligned at the top of the menu items cell and i cant figure out how to align it to the center. i have tried the veticalalignment property and veticalcontentalignment property but they dont help.. any ideas?
I'm building an firebug-like inspection tool for my page. When the mouse enters an element, the element should be highlighted.
Now I'm creating an element which I position absolute on top of the target element, this however means the next mousemove event (which is bound to the document) will fire with the actual "highlight element" as the target.
Is there a way to prevent the "highlight element" from being the target element in the mousemove event? The element already has a transparant background.
Hi guys, I have a project. I need in shared library of it to use in extensions. I don't want to make copy of this project but with shared-library settings. Are there any way to build it using *.o-files from building project? As I understand, I can write makefile for this.
I'm building an internal website in Perl and I would like to get it to use Windows credentials for authentication. My research so far has turned up a lot of keywords: Kerberos, LDAP, NTLM, etc, but no solid information. Anyone got pointers or good tutorials?
Thanks.
My question is a follow-up to the issue posted here
regarding the Intellisense performance issue when building a large solution in VS2008 that has many partial static classes.
Since Microsoft does not seem to be addressing the issue for VS2008, I would like to know if there are other ways around the problem? Waiting for VS2010 is not an option at this time. The proposed solution in the previous post is not practical as some of the partial classes may be regenerated and this would be a maintenance headache.
Hi Guys,
I am building a widget for my users and trying to get it working however I keep running into a X-Domain issue with this header. httpfox gives me - NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI - and on further investigation I find that its
Access-Control-Request-Method: GET
Access-Control-Request-Header: x-requested-with
I am not sure why its not loading but I basically call a script and then I am trying to grab some html to load it but it gets blocked with the above headers.
How can I get around this prob ?
Hi all. I have a project that I have been running on IRIX that builds fine with gmake. I copied the source and make files onto a Redhat machine, and running gmake gives me the error posted in the subject. This is during a part of the make that is building .d dependency files, and they are separated by a colon, which I have read is a no-no, but why does it work on one system and not the other? What is the fix?
Thanks

I'm building a custom keyboard in android.
My input.xml:
<com.mykeyboard.MyKeyboardView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="@+id/keyboard"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:keyBackground="@drawable/keybg"
/>
All the keys do have the same background.
Now I'm trying to dynamically change the background of one single key.
Is this possible?

Im planing on building a admin Control Panel for my site and i was wondering if there is something out there which i can start working with instead of starting from scratch.
I'm building a WPF application and working with the MVVM pattern.
I have 4 projects in my solution, 3 class libraries, Data, Model and ViewModel and the WPF executable View.
Is there anything wrong with the Model referencing WindowsBase so that I can use ObservableCollection<T> for example or can I just make use of what I intuitively feel I need without worrying about the original purposes of the class in the framework e.g. collection databinding.
I am building a dashboard where I am iterating through a list of controls to render, and I need to initiate a general callback both after each control and after they are all completed. I was curious what the best way to handle this is. I can get the control specific callback fired off by placing myUserControlCallback(); in the user control itself. I'm just not sure how to run something like allControlsRendered();.
Any ideas?

I am building a python application to pull data from a website. The application has to authenticate(HTTPS/SSL) with a CAC card and pin in order to make requests.
Am I correct in my assumptions that you can't retrieve the private key from a CAC card, and am therefore stuck using a PKCS #11 Wrapper like PyKCS?
Any tips or resources for going about this?

I'm building a RESTful API using Ruby on Rails. My models have a lot of validation happening in them. I'm wondering what is the most "RESTful" way to respond to a user in the event that they make a request that fails on the model layer.
Sending a 4xx HTTP response is the first step. What's the best practice for embedding the error messages inside of XML builder?
Is there a way to circumbent google app engine sdk to allow the usage of classes that are not present in the GAE JRE white list? I know the app that I would be building will not run in appspot, but at least in my development server, I need to access a postgresql database(java.net.socket.*) and generate some files(java.io.FileWriter) in my development server.
Hi,
We building big Web Application and we use mysql, we want to make mysql database more fast.
Some of us think if we will put message html body inside table and not inside text.txt in will make database heavy and not fast.
Thanks,
*Part of main table that hold message:
option 1:hold html message body inside database
message {
id (int)
subject (varchar)
body (text)
}
option 2: hold html message body inside body1.txt file
message {
id (int)
subject (varchar)
file_body_path (varchar)
}

I'm building an XML file from scratch and need to know if htmlentities() converts every character that could potentially break an XML file (and possibly UTF-8 data)? The values will be from a twitter/flickr feed, so I need to be sure!
