    So im just playing around with PHP and the MD5 functionality, sorry if this sounds really silly, but I cant seem to understand, how is it possible to represent an unlimited number of characters of input into a 32 bit character output? Is my logic sound here? Or is there a limit to the input that a MD5 function can take? Thanks...

  • How to test unescaped &nbsps; as a whitespace

    I use apache common lang to unescape a block of html text which contains &nbsp;, I want to filter out blocks that contains only whitespaces. But I can't test the   as a whitespace. It's not in the normal whitespace list(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitespace_character), and I try to print its Hex form by calling Character.getNumericValue which return -1. &nbsp should be a whitespace,isn't? But How can I test it?

    Is there an alphanumeric sort for R? Say I had a character vector like so: > seq.names <- c('abc21', 'abc2', 'abc1', 'abc01', 'abc4', 'abc201', '1b', '1a') I'd like to sort it aphanumerically, so I get back this: c('1a', '1b', 'abc1', 'abc01', 'abc2', 'abc4', 'abc21', 'abc201') Does this exist somewhere, or should I start coding? Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string. I made this, but don`t like it..     I'm using latex commands in my html code. When I validate the at w3c validator, it is giving me inavlid markup message. Line 105, Column 31: non SGML character number 12 \begin{equation}(x^{2})^{4+(frac{1}{5})}\end{equation} Is there a way to pass validation? Can I ignore this error?

    I have a Windows CE console application that's entry point looks like this int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) I want to check the contents of argv[1] for "-s" convert argv[2] into an integer. I am having trouble narrowing the arguments or accessing them to test. I initially tried the following with little success if (argv[1] == L"-s") I also tried using the narrow function of wostringstream on each character but this crashed the application. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks

  • Line for signature in markdown

    I'm writing a document using markdown, which I'm exporting to a PDF using pandoc. At the end of the document I need to have space for signatures on a printed copy of the PDF. I've tried to find how to draw a line with a fixed width, but so far I only got to escaping the underscore character, which doesn't feel quite right. It's as if I'm missing something, this couldn't possibly be that unusual to want to do. Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Moreover I'm only interested in the text that appears between a pair of #'s on the second line. Additionally, between the hashes, another delimiter is used: ^A. It would be great if I can also break apart each part of text that is ^A-delimited (Note that ^A is SOH special character and can be typed by using Ctrl-A)

  • Hero Class, php classes

    I am going to have different classes for a character that a user play. Like "Mage, Warrior" etc. I am thinking of a method like have some CharacterBase class (abstract?) and then I have a child class which is like WarriorClass or something like that. I think the approach is called Factory pattern or something like that. Anyone got a clue of what I'm trying to achieve here, and are there perhaps any better way to do this?
