  • SpamAssassin 2010 Bug still active on my mailserver despite the offending rule being fixed - where t

    The SpamAssassin 2010 bug was supposed to be fixed not long after the bug became widely known, and indeed the offending rule in my /usr/share/spamassassin/72_active.cf has been updated. However, incoming messages are still being tagged by this eg: X-Spam-Status: No, score=3.188 tagged_above=-999 required=6.31 tests=[BAYES_50=0.001, FH_DATE_PAST_20XX=3.188, SPF_PASS=-0.001] Here is the relevant rule: ##{ FH_DATE_PAST_20XX header FH_DATE_PAST_20XX Date =~ /20[2-9][0-9]/ [if-unset: 2006] describe FH_DATE_PAST_20XX The date is grossly in the future. ##} FH_DATE_PAST_20XX I'm on spamassassin/3.2.5-2+lenny1.1~volatile1 on Debian Lenny, completely up to date. Any pointers on where to look to figure out what's going on? I don't know anything about SpamAssassin; someone else usually manages this but I'm free right now and am trying to figure out what the problem is because it's been annoying us for a while and we only just realized this bug was still affecting us. Update: I've lowered the score for the FH_DATE_PAST20XX rule to 0.1, both in /etc/spamassassin/local.cf and /usr/share/spamassassin/50_scores.cf and it's still giving 3.188 points for this rule. Any idea what's going on? This really has me stumped. Update 2: It seems that after restarting amavisd, it's been fixed. What's the difference between amavisd and spamd? It seems like both should not be running, or something.

  • Ubuntu in VirtualBox File Modified Time in Future and PHP slow file operations

    For some reason, some of my files have a last modified date in the future. In addition to this, file operations in PHP are SUPER slow. For example, rebuilding the Symfony2 cache can take over 40 seconds (its takes 1-2 on my MacBook Pro). Notice the time for ListingsCRUDController.php. It just says "2012". In order see the date more clearly I ran ls --time-style="full-iso" -l For some reason it shows that this file's last modified date is ~5 hours into the future. System time: To make things more confusing, the system will intermittently speed up. Suddenly, my app will start serving requests in 1-2 seconds (down from 40 seconds) for no apparent reason. I mean I don't do anything to my code/system config - it just changes. Also, during a slow PHP request, the php5-fpm process (nginx) uses 100% of the CPU for the duration of the request. This is the second VM this has happened on and I need to know why its doing this. It has become unusable. Information About My Setup VirtualBox 4.2.0 Host: Macbook Pro Guest: Ubuntu Server 12.04 Package dkms is installed Timezones match for Ubuntu and PHP. Things I've Tried Both Apache and Nginx. APC enabled and disabled. Xdebug enabled and disabled. 1 processor up to 4 processors. 1gb memory up to 4gb memory. I've installed Ubuntu using the regular kernel and the VM kernel.

  • Apache (Solaris 10): 2 symlinks to the same file, one works the other doesn't

    I'm seeing a strange issue with Apache I have a system that pulls a configuration file from a web server. I want to use a symlink with the name 'ocds-dpsarch01a.rules'. This doesn't work. However, if I change one character in that name and link it to the same file, it works - See below I can't think of any reason why one symlink would work when another doesn't? I would have thought either the Apache configuration is right and all symlinks work, or it isn't and no syslinks work(?)   • System Center Essentials server running out of disk space due to stored old updates

    We have a System Center Essentials (SCE) server to filter updates to our laptops. We've configured it to download the update, and then the laptops get the update from this server; this of course reduces our internet bandwidth and the time it takes for employees to receive the updates, which reduces the complaints we get about how long updates take. However we currently have a total of 2,255 updates stored on the server. SCE gives a breakdown: Updates with installation errors: 29 Updates needed by computers: 280 Updates installed/up-to-date: 0 Updates with no status: 1946 Our little server has 68gb of hard disk space, and the updates are currently taking 32gb and counting. Some of the updates date back to 2003, but we can't figure out a way to delete them to free up space on the server. Right-clicking an update and clicking Uninstall threatens to remove the update from all computers, which is not what we want. Some of the updates even inform us upon viewing: This update has been replaced by a newer update. Before declining this update, it is recommended that you approve the new update first and verify that this update is no longer needed by any computers. How do you prevent your SCE server from filling its hard drive space? Is there a way to configure the server to only keep updates that are still needed? Furthermore, why (in the above breakdown of updates) are there so many updates with "no status" and 0 updates that are "installed/up-to-date"?

  • No internet access when using static IP

    I have just upgraded to Windows 8.1, and after the upgrade process is finished, I can't connect to internet. I tried running the "Troubleshoot problems": It concluded that DHCP needs to be activated: I let it activate DHCP, and I got internet connection back. The problem is I want to set this PC to a certain IP address (the IP address that it has been using all this time). I am also using Hyper-V, which I suspect has something to do with this problem. After I regained internet connection, I tried running one of my Hyper-V VM. From inside the VM I can connect to internet. That VM has static IP address. I also noticed that in "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections", I usually have a network connection called vEthernet (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Virtual Switch). I didn't find it there after upgrade. How do I set my PC to a static IP while retaining internet access in Windows 8.1? EDIT I have managed to recreate vEthernet (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Virtual Switch) by unchecking Allow management operating system to share this network adapter in Hyper-V's Virtual Switch Manager and then checking it again. But when I changed the adapter to use static IP, it still can't connect to internet.   • Thundrbird 3: can't change column width?

    I recently installed Thunderbird 3.0.3. Just noticed a suboptimal UI setting: in the upper pane, which lists the e-mails in the current folder, the Date column is about 200px wide. So when I keep the window at 480x600, all I see in a row is: | tree icon | favourites icon | attachment icon | read icon | junk icon | Date and time, followed by 5cm whitespace | ... | P Where "P" is the first letter of the name of the sender. And the "..." is actually shown this way, I have no idea which column it is meant to be. But I don't see neither the sender, nor the message subject, which makes scrolling a folder for a certain mail rather pointless. I see these when I maximize the window, actually the columns are then not only bigger, they are arranged in another sequence. But I feel that holding a mail client permanently maximised at 1600x1200 is a waste of screen real estate. My naive solution attempt was to try to go with the mouse cursor to the right edge of the date column and try to shrink it by moving the cursor left while holding down the left mouse button. Not only is this default behaviour for all resizable columns I've ever encountered in GUIs, the cursor actually turns into a horizontal double-headed arrow. But pulling has no effect at all. I cannot make a wide column narrow, and I cannot make the narrow columns wide. I didn't find anything in the preferences either. So can please somebody explain how to get the columns arranged sensibly?

  • GeekTool logs "command not found" for commands that work fine in Terminal

    I'm trying to run simple commands so I can have GeekTool output date/time etc. to my desktop. Should be simple enough to do but it never actually outputs anything into the boxes. Console log shows it's getting spammed by GeekTool to say 'command not found', though the same command (e.g. date +"%H:%M") works fine in Terminal. All I want to achieve is the ability to output a clock displaying time/date on my desktop that fits into my wallpaper. I've tried changing the format of the commands, using the built-in editor window as well as the command line box on the Properties tab. I had a look at the permissions in '/' (because GeekTool runs commands from there) and nothing unusual comes up. None of these solved the issue. When I use a command that simply echo's a string it works (e.g. echo "hello" displays the word hello). Does anyone have experience with GeekTool, and understand why it won't run basic commands? As I say, it's spamming my console with 'command not found' despite them working in terminal... Running OS X 10.6.6 on a MacBook Pro (mid-2010).

  • Excel 2007 - Adding line breaks in a cell and no line over 50 characters

    I have notes stored in an excel cell. I add line breaks and dates every time I add a new note. I need to copy this to another program, but it has a line limit of 50 characters. I want a line break for each new date and for when each date's comment goes over 50 characters. I'm able to do one or the other, but I can't figure out how to do both. I'd prefer words not to be split up, but at this point I don't care. Below is some sample input. If needed for a SUBSTITUTE or REPLACE function, I could add a ~ before each date in my input as a delimiter. Sample Input: 07/03 - FU on query. Copies and history included. CC to Jane Doe and John Public 06/29 - Cust claiming not to have these and wrong PO on query form.   • Why is the wrong name server information at crsnic.net & gtld-servers.net ?

    Did I screw this up? I don’t even know how this might have happened, so I’d like to learn. I’m trying out HostGator’s reseller service and I bought a domain name through it, but I didn’t want the default name servers and so I changed them during the registration. After registration the domain name record is correct everywhere except at whois-servers.net and whois.crsnic.net and it looks like the DNS network is using that same information. $ whois -h whois.enom.com. example.com ...     We use sys.dm_exec_query_stats to track down slow queries and queries that are IO offenders. This works great, we get a lot of very insightful stats. It is clear this is not as accurate as running a profiler trace, as you have no idea when SQL Server will decide to chuck out a an execution plan. We have quite a few queries where the wrong execution plan is cached. For example queries like the following: SELECT TOP 30 a.Id FROM Posts a JOIN Posts q ON q.Id = a.ParentId JOIN PostTags pt ON q.Id = pt.PostId WHERE a.PostTypeId = 2 AND a.DeletionDate IS NULL AND a.CommunityOwnedDate IS NULL AND a.CreationDate @date AND LEN(a.Body) 300 AND pt.Tag = @tag AND a.Score 0 ORDER BY a.Score DESC The problem is that the ideal plan really depends on the date selected (screenshot of ideal plan): However if the wrong plan is cached, it totally chokes when the date range is big: (notice the big fat lines) To overcome this we were recommended to use either OPTION (OPTIMIZE FOR UNKNOWN) or OPTION (RECOMPILE) OPTIMIZE FOR UNKNOWN results in a slightly better plan, which is far from optimal. Executions are tracked in sys.dm_exec_query_stats. RECOMPILE results in the best plan being chosen, however no execution counts and stats are tracked in sys.dm_exec_query_stats. Is there another DMV we could use to track stats on queries with OPTION (RECOMPILE)? Is this behavior by-design? Is there another way we can for recompilation while keeping stats tracked in sys.dm_exec_query_stats? Note: the framework will always execute parameterized queries using sp_executesql

    I have never used CRON before but I want to use CRON in order to be able to perform schedule jobs for a php script. The server I am using is the university's server known as helios, does CRON need to be set up in helios, (do I have to call the admin for this) or is it something else which uses CRON. I have never used CRON before so can you explain to me how CRON can be set up for the example above with the server I am using?   • Ping results "echo'd" out to a text file on Windows XP machine has unusual character rather than the outcome

    Here is the situation. I have a Windows XP machine that I would like to ping another machine and send the output to a text file for review at a later date. This is quite a standard question with several answers on this website and others. The issue I have is that when reviewing the txt file afterwards, the outcome of the ping appears as a strange character. A screenshot of the text file output can be found at the following link. Please note its the first 8 ping outputs that have a strange character. The %%B was me hoping that would output what I wanted! (Cannot upload image to any hosting websites because the company I work for seems to be afraid of them ....) These steps are missing one very important vital step in order for FBA to work with Active Directory. A supplement to step 3 before granting access in step 5 through the people picker. You need to specify the Active Directory Provider Name to the people picker, otherwise you will not be able specify users through the Policy for Web Application. <PeoplePickerWildcards>       <clear />          <add key="ADMembershipProvider" value="%" />     </PeoplePickerWildcards> Recently we needed to use Forms Based Authentication with Active Directory from an Extranet. This is how we got it to work. 1. Extend the Web Application Instead of tweaking the internal web app, Extend the web application you want to expose to the Extranet, giving it the required host headers etc. 2. Configure SharePoint Central Admin to use FBA for the "new" Web Applications Login to SharePoint Central Admin Go to Application Management / Application Security / Authentication Providers and Change the Web Application to the one which needs to be configured for Forms Based Authentication Click zone / default, change authentication type to forms and enter ActiveDirectoryMemebershipProvider under membership provider name ( for example , "ADMembershipProvider") and save this change 3.   • Entity Framework SaveChanges error details

    When saving changes with SaveChanges on a data context is there a way to determine which Entity causes an error? For example, sometimes I'll forget to assign a date to a non-nullable date field and get "Invalid Date Range" error, but I get no information about which entity or which field it's caused by (I can usually track it down by painstakingly going through all my objects, but it's very time consuming). Stack trace is pretty useless as it only shows me an error at the SaveChanges call without any additional information as to where exactly it happened. Note that I'm not looking to solve any particular problem I have now, I would just like to know in general if there's a way to tell which entity/field is causing a problem.   • Matplotlib pick event order for overlapping artists

    I'm hitting a very strange issue with matplotlib pick events. I have two artists that are both pickable and are non-overlapping to begin with ("holes" and "pegs"). When I pick one of them, during the event handling I move the other one to where I just clicked (moving a "peg" into the "hole"). Then, without doing anything else, a pick event from the moved artist (the peg) is generated even though it wasn't there when the first event was generated. My only explanation for it is that somehow the event manager is still moving through artist layers when the event is processed, and therefore hits the second artist after it is moved under the cursor. So then my question is - how do pick events (or any events for that matter) iterate through overlapping artists on the canvas, and is there a way to control it? I think I would get my desired behavior if it moved from the top down always (rather than bottom up or randomly). I haven't been able to find sufficient enough documentation, and a lengthy search on SO has not revealed this exact issue.   • jQuery load Google Visualization API with AJAX

    Hello. There is an issue that I cannot solve, I've been looking a lot in the internet but found nothing. I have this JavaScript that is used to do an Ajax request by PHP. When the request is done, it calls a function that uses the Google Visualization API to draw an annotatedtimeline to present the data. The script works great without AJAX, if I do everything inline it works great, but when I try to do it with AJAX it doesn't work!!! The error that I get is in the declaration of the "data" DataTable, in the Google Chrome Developer Tools I get a Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DataTable' of undefined. When the script gets to the error, everything on the page is cleared, it just shows a blank page. So I don't know how to make it work.
