Hey, I'm making a simple user friendly css editor using Prototype. Anyway, I was wondering whether I could get the background-position x/y values on their own?
I wish I could do something like this but sadly it doesn't work:
element.getStyle('background-position-x);
I guess this is because position comes in different forms like 'center' rather than just being generic.
System.Windows.Forms.Form has only one scroll event-Scroll, but it is necessary to recognize scrolling up and scrolling down.Could you tell me,how to do this?
Hi,
in one of our applications we're using alocal RDLC-report (displaying using a ReportViewer control) to print some tables and text entered by the user.
We'd like to give the user the ability of formatting the text. I thought I might use the respective WPF controls (embedded into the Windows Forms application) to make things easy.
Question is: how do I print the resulting FlowDocument within the local report? Is this possible at all?
Thanks for any advice,
Thorsten
I'd like to customize the standard user controls look (buttons, dgv, txtboxs ... etc) and the layout of my forms to a state of art modern interface like any decently built application. How can I do that?. What to look for? any articles, books .. etc that might be of help!

I created a VB.NET Windows Forms Application in Visual Studio 2008. When I run my program from the command-line, I get no output (only the next prompt).
Why?
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Debug.Write("Foo")
Debug.Flush()
Console.WriteLine("foo")
Console.Beep(800, 100) 'confirm this function is called'
Me.Close()
End Sub

There is some easily available information on finding the status of a battery, or weather it's charging or not. (GetSystemPowerStatus API or System.Windows.Forms.SystemInformation.PowerStatus).
I want to be able to stop a battery from charging based on some criteria, e.g. battery power 20%.
Is there an API to do this?
I am currently applying a simple simple to my validated forms (red background and border) although jQuery validator appends some label with : Field is required.
I just dont want any text to appear.
Thankyou!
Is there a way to queue file uploads without resorting to Flash or Silverlight, just with cleverly used forms and JavaScript? Note that the upload should be executed asynchronously.
By "queuing" uploads I mean that if the user tries to upload multiple files, they should not be transferred simultaneously, but rather one at a time, in a single HTTP connection.
We have discussed keyboards. But take a look at the small piece of plastic to the right (or left :) ) of your beloved keyboard! This humble creature helps you to draw nice forms, and click all around the web. A real programmers mouse must be precise and comfortable, so which mouse would you make a companion to your keyboard?
Currently I'm in love with this fat member of mice family:
Natural wireless laser mouse 6000

I understand the gist of the code, that it forms permutations; however, I was wondering if someone could explain exactly what is going on in the return statement.
def perm(l):
sz = len(l)
print (l)
if sz <= 1:
print ('sz <= 1')
return [l]
return [p[:i]+[l[0]]+p[i:] for i in range(sz) for p in perm(l[1:])]
I am developing windows Forms application, for this i am using SmartClient. Here i click workspace close('X') event at the time i want to display messageBox based on user input (OK/Cancel) i have to decide pane has to be close or not.
Hi, I have a question regarding GridView windows forms control. As a datasource, I am using a DataTable object. When the grid view is sorted, the DataTable's row indices are not sorted. In this way, when accessing the DataTable using indices from GridView, I get the unexpected rows. How can this situation be handled?
Hi Guys,
I am using ASP.NET Web forms,
When a user submit a page, an email will be sent to many people which is slowing the post-back,
what is the best way to send the emails without slowing the reloading of the page?

I have x1,y1 and x2,y2 which forms a line segment. How can I get another line x3,y3 - x4,y4 which is parallel to the first line as in the picture. I can simply add n to x1 and x2 to get a parallel line but it is not what i wanted. I want the lines to be as parallel in the picture.
Obviously, I am a novice web designer. I'm using php and sql to do all the under-the-hood stuff, but I want a visually appealing as well as functional comment system. Right now I am just using HTML forms but they don't look very good. Should I be using javascript? Any tips to get me started?
I'm looking into using SharePoint (WSS 3.0, specifically) for the document library and discussion board functionalities.
I'd like to ask those of you who have experience in SP (MOSS or WSS, since we might upgrade in the future) for a list of the items that ticked you off or required a difficult workaround.
Here's one from me - I found when I implemented forms authentication that a lot of the built-in integration with Microsoft Office disappeared, and I was also unable to use explorer view.
I am looking for an easy to use CMS that can be used to host a multilingual website with photo galleries and few forms.
I am open to php/python excluding wordpress/joomla/drupal.
is it possible to have an html form organized/named in such a way that $foo-fromArray($_POST) would actually save relational data as well?
example:
html_form_fields:
user_name
country_name
db_table_users:
id
user_name
db_table_countries:
id
country_name
update:
forgot to say i'm trying to make this with zend framework forms
If I wanted to save a contact form submission to the database, how can I insert the form scope in as the submission? It's been some time since I used Coldfusion.
The contact forms vary depending on what part of the site it was submitted from, so it needs to scale and handle a form with 5 fields or one with 10 fields. I just want to store the data in a blob table.
I'm looking around for an open source form building package for PHP, and figured the hive-mob-mind of StackOverflow might be able to tilt me in the right direction.
Specifically, I'm looking for a form/survey builder application. I want something that lets an end user use a web based GUI to create and configure/surveys and web-based forms.
What are the de-facto standard tools/packages that people use for this kind of thing these days. I'm interested in software packages, not in hosted services.
