Why doesn't Google's Multimap's entries() method return Key/Collection pairs?

I would like to be able to retrieve from my com.google.collections.Multimap<A, B> a Collection<Entry<A, Collection<B>>> which I expected from the entries() method, but in fact it returns a Collection<Entry<A, B>>. Is there a method which does what I want?

IEnumerator: Is it normal to have an empty Dispose method?

I'm writing an IEnumerator<T> class to iterate over a COM collection I'm wrappering. I've noticed that IEnumerator<T> extends IDisposable, so I'm required to implement the Dispose method. However, I can't think of anything I would put there, as I only have a reference to the collection (which I wouldn't want being disposed at the end of a foreach), and an int for the index. Is it normal to leave the Dispose method empty?

We find a lot of concrete subclasses under Collection. While trying to add an element in a concrete collection, this collection will use a method to determine if it can accept to store the element (and eventually that this element is not already in the collection). It could use equals(), hashCode() or compareTo() of the element. Is it possible to find a summary about which method is used by each implementation of Collection ? Thanks a lot for your answers.

Had almost 300 GB worth of files with random names on my computer, and now they are gone. Any idea what they were and where they went?

A couple of days ago I noticed I had a folder on my computer with more than 15 files in it. All the files were the exact same size (215 MB). They all had different names (just a bunch of random characters like Abe327(/-38s etc. I wasn't sure what they were so I decided to try to delete them. But then I noticed they disappeared from the D drive. Then the next day I noticed a new folder, with similar names and file sizes showed up on my C drive. The timestamps on the first set of files was almost all from a few months ago. Like the timestamps were saying 3:52 AM, 403 AM, etc. all from the same date. Then the set of files on the C drive that just appeared had yesterday's date on them. But similarly, all the files had timestamps within a 24 hour period. Like they had all just been created. Now this morning, all of those files are gone, and I didn't delete them. There are now no files like this in either drive. Any idea what these files were? Why were they so large, and why are they switching drives? Why did they disappear completely now, after the initial files were there for a few months.

Java reflection

Hi people. I have a question about reflection I am trying to have some kind of eval() method. So i can call for example: eval("test('woohoo')"); Now I understand the there is no eval method in java but there is reflection. I made the following code: String s = "test"; Class cl = Class.forName("Main"); Method method = cl.getMethod(s, String.class); method.invoke(null, "woohoo"); This works perfectly (of course there is a try, catch block around this code). It runs the test method. However I want to call multiple methods who all have different parameters. I don't know what parameters these are (so not only String.class). But how is this possible? how can I get the parameter types of a method ? I know of the following method: Class[] parameterTypes = method.getParameterTypes(); But that will return the parameterTypes of the method I just selected! with the following statement: Method method = cl.getMethod(s, String.class); Any help would be appreciated !

what data structure should I use for hash lookup as well as binary search?

I am working on a school homework. I have a list of names. I want to be able to perform binary search on these names (find all names between a lower and upper bound) for first name as well as last name, and perform keyword searches as well (this will be accomplished using hashing. For example, if I have the names Garfield Cat Snoopy Dog Captain Crunch Fat Cat then a binary search of first names (C,H) will return Captain Crunch, Fat Cat, and Garfield Cat. A binary search of last names (Cr,D) will return Captain Crunch. A keyword search of 'cat' will return Fat Cat and Garfield Cat. I understand binary search will only work on a sorted list, but since I am planning on searching two different criteria, I will have to sort the list by last name or first name depending on what I'm searching for. I feel like it will be too inefficient to have to resort the list each time I want to perform a new binary search. Would it just be better for me to set up and maintain two sorted lists (one for sorted by first name, one for sorted by last name)? Also, for hashing, will I have to set up a different table of names for that as well? I understand each keyword will hash to some value determined by a hash function, and this value (or key) is a table address where the corresponding names are stored. So I just want to know what would be the best way to solve this problem? Maintaining separate structures, or is there a way to efficiently do everything I want with just one data structure?

Updated MVC 4 to 5.2.0 via Nuget Site compiles but wont run

I had the bright idea of updating my perfectly working ASP.Net MVC 4 application to the MVC 5 via nuget, Everything compiles just fine but when I try to run the application I get the following yellow screen of death. Solaris MySQL Unable to start successfully

Environment: Solaris 10 This mysql server has been up and running for 6 months now. Today all of a sudden it crashed. When typing 'mysql' as user it gives the error MYSQL" Error 2002 (HY000): Can't Connect to Local MySQL server though socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' when typing mysql as root it says mysql: not found. The server try to open mysql, it stays open for 9-10 seconds and restarts the process. Below are the application logs. I'm using ubuntu 9.10, apache 2 and mysql 5. I install ruby 1.8.7 on the server. I ran the command gem install -v 1.2.3 But then I get the error ERROR: While executing gem ... (NoMethodError) undefined method `include?' for nil:NilClass What did I do wrong?
