  Hi All, All the time we are hearing that java is enterprise. We have read many books about jpa, entity beans and other stuff. All this books explain this technology with some dummy examples. I have not seen a book that explains real problems with enterprise beans, java clients and security! I mean real book not some imaginated stupid examples . Is there any book that describes completely some enterprise system, Its architecture, communication, security, of course the client that uses the distributed components ? I need a book that will cover the flowing: server side components (ejb, jpa) client side java desktop application security (authentication and authorization) web services with complete authentication clustering (we can find for all of this a book, but there is no book that covers all this things in one piece. Also all the books are with dummy samples.) Or may be some project that is documented. Regards, Darko

  Hi, I've been a visual studio developer for long and just trying to understand how things are in linux/unix worl.   I have created a setup and deployment project in Visual Studio 2008 Professional. I'm using Visual C++, and in it I have two exe files which run under custom actions. One is running in commit and other in uninstall. Purpose is to add a registry key at install time and remove it at uninstall. It works perfectly on Windows XP but when I change to Windows 7 and run the setup, only the key-adding part works. The key doesn't get deleted at uninstall. But when I take the uninstall exe file out from the setup and run it separately on Windows 7, (not through the setup, by just double-clicking on the exe) it removes the registry entry perfectly. Any idea what the problem is?

• Loading Eclipse plug-ins from source .jar without project file

  I have a number of plug-ins meant for the OSGi framework. They have been bundled in individual .jars containing the source .java files as well as the needed MANIFEST.MF and plugin.properties files. The problem is, I wish to edit these. What is the best/easiest way to import them as plug-ins into Eclipse so that I can continue as if I had been handed an eclipse project with source files (instead of the .jar files). • Integrating CKeditor to my symfony2 project

  I was trying to integrate ckeditor to my symfony2 project so that some of the textarea will have the ckeditor html editor. I brought the ckeditor on my required textarea by calling the class="ckeditor" in my form. The issue that I am facing now is that when I use the ckeditor the submit button of my form will not work instead I will have to use the built in "Save" option of the ckeditor toolbar for submitting the form. When I remove the ckeditor from the textareas and use normal textarea the submit button seems to work. I do not want to use the "Save" button on the ckeditor toolbar to submit my form. Is there a workaround to make the submit button work? Tried googling out for possible solutions but could not find any. P.S: I would also like to know if there are other html text editors like ckeditor that would work well with symfony2 and link to implementation instructions.

• rails is loading from routes instead of the public folder

  I have a rails app. I have a file in #{RAILS_ROOT}/public/swfs/somthing.swf. Locally, when running with webrick, when I go to the url localhost:3000/swfs/something.swf, my swf loads just fine. My routes.rb file looks like the following ActionController::Routing::Routes.draw do |map| map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' end Then, I started running the app with apache. When I visit myurl.com/swfs/something.swf, I get the following error message: Routing Error No route matches "/swfs/something.swf" with {:method=>:get} It looks like, for some reason, it is loading using the rails routes, instead of going to the public folder first. Any suggestions?

• How to add a whole directory or project output to WiX package

  We decided to switch from VS integrated setup to WiX. However, what we currently do is use projects output files as the input for the setup project. This lets us easily add Application Files to a directory (for images, samples, and other resources...) and those files are automatically added to the setup when we build. I could not find any similar feature in WiX. WiX seems to require one Directory entry and one File entry for each and every directory and file. This would require us to change the WiX source everytime a file is added which, to my eyes, is prohibitive since we have so many of them. Is there any integrated way of doing that with WiX or do I have to write my own task that will create a WiX source before calling candle?

• Project name inserted automatically in url when using django template url tag

  I am applying the 'url' template tag to all links in my current Django project. I have my urls named like so... url(r'^login/$', 'login', name='site_login'), This allows me to access /login at my site's root. I have my template tag defined like so... <a href="{% url site_login %}"> It works fine, except that Django automatically resolves that url as /myprojectname/login, not /login. Both urls are accessible. Why? Is there an option to remove the projectname? This occurs for all url tags, not just this one.

  hi everyone , I am new to android. I intend to make video player which can play video from file as well as web URL. But the problem is that when my emulator runs , a sd card folder should be created in "File Explorer" tab of DDMS perspective in eclipse , which is not happening . That's why I am unable to push any file in the sd card and hence video is not being played.   Hi guys, I would like to delete all the files and subfolders inside a folder. For this purpose, I am using task in my script with property TaskAction set to "RemoveContent". However there is an inconsistent behaviour. Sometimes when I run the script, it throws IOException with the messsage The directory is not empty. But when i rerun the script it works fine.   I've been trying to convert my aspx pages to cshtml and having an issue with rendering partial pages from another folder. What I used to do: <% Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Inquiry/InquiryList.ascx", Model.InquiryList.OrderBy("InquiryId", MvcContrib.Sorting.SortDirection.Descending));%> I would think that the equivalent would be: @Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Inquiry/_InquiryList.cshtml", Model.InquiryList.OrderBy("InquiryId", MvcContrib.Sorting.SortDirection.Descending)) This is obviously not working, I am getting the following error. CS1973: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' has no applicable method named 'Partial' but appears to have an extension method by that name. Extension methods cannot be dynamically dispatched. Consider casting the dynamic arguments or calling the extension method without the extension method syntax. How would I achieve this with using the Razor view engine?

My ideal solution would be one where I could forward or copy a thread of emails into one spot, and go back after the fact to organize/categorize/add to it. Any ideas?

• Building java project with TFS

  A very small portion of our codebase is some legacy Java code. I'm trying to add a new build that would invoke ant to build this project. The first problem is that TFS doesn't allow you to create a build that doesn't build a .Net solution. I got around this by copying a previous build file and adding an EndToEndIteration task which is the entry point for the build. The problem is that none of the usual build variables are populated - $(BuildDirectory), $(SolutionRoot) - all blank. This pretty much means I can't invoke my ant task without hardcoding the paths (which I definitely can't do). Any ideas?

• Can't finish Eclipse Plug-in Project Wizard when choosing RCP

  I'm trying create a RCP Application with Eclipse, but I can't get past the 'Content' screen of the New Plug-in Project Wizard. When I select 'yes' for "Rich Client Application, Would you like to create a rich client application" it disables the Next and the Finish Button. I first thought it is due to my target platform which is Eclipse 3.2, but changing that doesn't make a difference. On the top of the screen only one task is displayed (now warnings about missing or incompatible information): Enter the data required to generate the plug-in My Eclipse Version is 3.5 Any ideas?   Let's say I have managed to hide the draftsfolder in outlook2003. I am wondering how I would be able to retreive it back without the use of 3rd party programs. (for instance as described in this article). I have the following code in outlook 2007. • Python and App Engine project structure

  Hello, I am relatively new to python and app engine, and I just finished my first project. It consists of several *.py files (usually py file for every page on the site) and respectively temple files for each py file. In addition, I have one big PY file that has many functions that are common to a lot of pages, in I also declared the classes of db.Model (that is the datastore kinds). My question is what is the convention (if there is one) of arranging these files. If I create a model.py with the datastore classes, should it be in different package? Where should I put my template files and all of the py files that handle every page (should they be in the same directory as the one big common PY file)? I have tried to look for MVC and such implementations online but there are very few. Thanks, Joel

  How can I replace the same text in folder names in linux? Say I have "Photos_Jun", "Photos_July", "Photos_Aug", etc. whats the simplest way I can rename them like "Photos Jun", "Photos July", etc (basically I want to replace the underscore with a space " ". I have about 200 of these folders. I was looking at solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1836563/how-can-i-easily-bulk-rename-files-with-perl It looks like what im looking for however, I dont know how to make a regular expression to match folders that are alphanumeric followed by a "_". • cloned project from github. heroku does not work

  I cloned a project from github over to my desktop. I used to work on it form my laptop. However, on laptop heroku does not seem to work for this app eventhough i have it installed. First problem: heroku open >No app specified. >Run this command from app folder or set it adding --app <app name> I did not have to specify the --app on my laptop. Because I guess I did command heroku create initially on the lapop. Second Probelm: git push heroku master gives errors fatal: 'heroku' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly and heroku list says ! This version of the heroku gem has been deprecated. ! Please update it by running: gem update heroku

• access denied trying extracting an archive on the windows user temp folder

  I'm trying to run a command-line process (which is extraction of a .7z archive) on a file that lies in a temporary folder on the windows user temp directory (C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp), using Process in my c# app. I think the process return error that happens because of "access denied" because I can see a win32Exception with error code 5 when I dig in the prcoess object of .NET. doing the same on some other location worked fine before, so I guess maybe it's something I'm not supposed to do ? (running a process to use a file on the the %TEMP%) perhaps I need to pass security somehow?

• Start Codeblocks project from external code

  I have C++ code that depends on boost and other libraries, and therefore this code has a makefile that invokes boost. I am now trying to start developing this code in codeblocks in linux, so in order to do that I have two basic questions: (1) How can I import the code into codeblocks as a codeblocks new project? (2) How do I invoke the makefile with codeblocks instead of codeblocks trying to compile the code (which it would fail since codeblocks does not know that it needs to invoke boost). Sorry if it's too basic but I am quite new to C++ and codeblocks. Thanks!

• VSTO Outlook project

  I currently have an Outlook 2007 VSTO plug-in which needs to write certain values into the registry. I am programmitically downloading and installing a new stationery into Outlook by saving a htm file into the users App Data folder and then updating the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings\NewTheme registry key which sets which stationery that is currently in use. So far everything is fine for 2007, but I have checked a PC that is running Outlook 2010, and this registry key is in a different spot. Instead of 12.0 as the version it is 14.0, which makes sense. Is there anyway I can determine what version the plugin is installed in, so that I can write the key based on the correct version in the correct location?!? I haven't been able to find anything on this so far, but surely there is a way..?!? Thanks in advance. Chris
