  • Best copy and paste software for windows?

    Sorry if this question exist already, I did some searches but could not find one myself. I am looking for the best programs to copy and paste stuff in windows more easily. So let's say instead of the default copy/paste one item at a time, I could have 5 different paragraphs that could all be pasted somewhere seperately. Hopefully this is not to confusing. Instead of bveing able to paste 1 item I would like to have a list of items that can be pasted or some similar functionality under windows. Please help make me more productive, I frequently need to copy and paste different sets of data. Here is a good exampl, let's say I need to be able to past my email somewhere but on another program or webpage I need to paste my home address.

    I am searching for a way to type a keyword in the start menu Search programs and files field and that it will return the application that match the keyword. An example will better explain this: Suppose that I want to start the powershell. Currently what I can type in the search field is power and the first item that appear is the 64bits powershell shortcut. Now suppose that I'd like ps to return powershell as the first item of the search list. Currently, typing ps return all files with the .ps extension, alongs with a control panel options about recording steps but not the powershell executable itself. How can I do that?

    When you take clips and turn them into computer playable files, whether .TS or .MOV or .MPG, .MP4, .VOB, etc., do you as the producer actually manually write into some field in a "Details" section of your video editor what the video length is, so that it can be read by the eventual user's video player? Or is this activity performed automatically by the video editor? I'm asking because: when a mouse is passed over a file line item in Windows 7 Shell (Windows Explorer) a little box is displayed where the mouse meets the file line item and provides simple name and size properties, one of which (if it's a media file) is run length. How does that figure get there into the file (later to be read be Windows or OS X)? Thanks for any info.

    I've migrated Reporting Services on a SCOM 2007 R2 install, and noticed that the reports have not being copied. I can create a new report, but the ones I've had because of the management packs are gone. I've tried re-applying the Management Packs however it doesn't re-deploy them and when I try to access for example: Monitoring - Microsoft Windows Print Server - Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 Print Services - State View - select any item and click Alerts on the right menu. I get the following error: Date: 12/24/2010 12:40:35 PM Application: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Application Version: 6.1.7221.0 Severity: Error Message: Cannot initialize report. Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ReportServerException: The item '/Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Report.Library/Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Report.Alert' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound) at Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ServerReport.GetExecutionInfo() at Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ServerReport.GetParameters() at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Reporting.Parameters.ReportParameterBlock.Initialize(ServerReport serverReport) at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Mom.Internal.UI.Console.ReportForm.SetReportJob(Object sender, ConsoleJobEventArgs args) The report doesn't exist on the reporting services side. how do I re-deploy this reports?   • Deleting an undeletable Directory in Windows 7

    I have encountered a problem from time to time but have not been able to resolve it without formatting. I have a directory called d:\DotNet that I want to delete. I cannot because inside this folder there is another folder called: T4 Code generation and Misc. When I try to deleting or access T4 Code generation and Misc., I get the following error: Could not find this item This is no longer located in D:\DotNet. Verify this item's location and try again. Hopefully this is a simple fix.

  • Configure Mouse Buttons for "Administrator"/Elevated privileges

    I am, for better or worse, an administrator on my Windows 7 machine. However, even then, I still need to run certain programs "as Administrator" - for example, Visual Studio 2008 when working with local IIS sites. I also like to have the extra buttons on my IntelliMouse Optical doing non-standard things, like representing Ctrl and Shift. However, when in VS running as administrator, these settings aren't picked up, just like my mapped drives aren't picked up - I would understand this if I was logging in as a different user, supplying credentials, etc, but I'm not, I'm just pressing "Yes" at the UAC prompt. Normally, I'd just right click the item in the start menu and select "Run as administrator", but that's not an option on the context menu for either the Microsoft IntelliPoint Mouse application that appears under "Programs", nor the "Mouse" control panel item. Running the control panel as administrator also doesn't seem to help. So has any one got any suggestions on how I can configure my mouse buttons for the elevated version of me that Visual Studio is running as?

  • Outlook 2003 (with Exchange 2007) error: You cannot respond to a meeting without an Organizer

    The company recently upgraded to Exchange 2007. Since the upgrade users who are still on Outlook 2003 (SP3) get the following error for some meeting requests: You cannot respond to a meeting without an organizer. You must add an Organizer field to the item. The item has an organizer field filled in. Exchange is 2007 with SP1 MS Office (incl Outlook) is 2003 with SP3 Some users are using iPhones to accept / reject meetings. The iPhones never get an error like this. There are no delegates for the user attempting to accept or reject the meeting. Sometimes the meeting was previously accepted, sometimes not. We have not detected a pattern in the meeting requests that trigger the issue. I've found a few people asking the same question on other websites but no answers. Experts Exchange claims to have an answer but from looking at the discussion at the bottom of the page I'm pretty sure they don't.

  • Force Windows 7 to pin a file with no extension to the Jump List for Notepad

    I want to add the "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" file to the Jump List for notepad.exe on a Windows 7 machine, but since the file does not have an extension there is no default program associated with it. This means it never shows up in the recent list and you also cannot drag it to the task bar to manually pin it to the start list. I've had problems with jump lists before, and there are ways to use the Registry or File system to change how Jump Lists work, but I haven't seen anything to manually edit a jump list yet. Is there any way to force an item to be pinned to the jump list when that item does not have a program associated with it?

    Hi, I'm working with Drupal for the first time and trying to figure out how to change the Menu item names through the Administer Site Building configuration menus. I have logged into the Drupal admin site and navigated to Administer/ Site Building/ Menus, select the menu item and click Edit, change the Title from , 'About' to 'About Us' however when loading the site page it still says 'About' Please pardon my lack of understanding on drupal, i am somewhat familiar with joomla another CMS however I just need some pointers in the right direction as to how to edit the links and rename them within drupal. the links are not images as far as i can tell while viewing the source and properties on the links.   • Any way to fix alphabetical selection behavior in list widgets in Windows?

    In every version of Windows I've ever used (95 through Vista), the following apparent bug has been present in every list widget, whether drop-down, multi-select, or Explorer folder view: If you use the keyboard to select some item alphabetically, the selection gets "locked" on that item. If I have a list with the contents below, and I press D, then Delta will get selected. At this point, pressing A, B, or G will do nothing unless I first switch focus to another window or control, or remove focus by pressing Esc. If, at the beginning, I press G, then I can keep pressing G to cycle through the Gamma entries, but A, B, or D will do nothing unless I clear the focus. Alpha Beta Beta2 Delta Gamma Gamma2 Gamma3 I don't think I've seen this aggravating behavior on OS X, KDE, or Gnome shells, and I can't imagine why this behavior would be "by design." Does anyone know anything about this bug or how to get around it?

    We are actively using the Follow Up mail feature to assign users to particular mail follow up items. Although mail item follow ups are generally the province of the individual user, by changing the flag value from "Follow Up" to "User name", we can see each other's follow up tasks and group on responsible party. Currently we accomplish the Flag value change manually. My sense is the easiest way to perfect the process is a separate macro for each user. Along the lines of the macro to change the star/end due date to end of month, please define the macro to re-assign the Flag value for each highlighted mail item (previously assigned by default).     from what i can gather the mailbox bit of the web interface works fine.. when any of the users go to options (top right) and try to use some of the features such as the Organise Mail Delivery Reports to find messages etc... it comes up with a message ..     I store some data in files which follow this naming convention: /interesting/data/filename-YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM How do I look for the ones with date in file name < now - 1 month and delete them? Files may have changed since they were created, so searching according to last modification date is not good.     I am looking for a board that supports 16/16/4 configurations (lga 1366 of course). For 2 graphic cards in SLI (250gts twin frozr) and a revodrive(not bought yet -20-227-578--Product"http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227578&cm_re=revodrive--20-227-578--Product ). This boards seems alright for my needs (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131665&cm_re=sabertooth--13-131-665--Product), but I am afraid it's going to be too tight for both of my graphic cards. Do anyone know any other board that would do the job? Preferably asus motherboards, as they are the most stable boards I know Thanks for your help!

  • Google Chrome in Incognito Mode still logging visits history

    I am using Incognito Mode and today I have noticed that when I frequently visit some site in that mode browser logs it and even on not incognito mode it autofills in address bar making Incognito mode useless in my case. Another fun thing is that the item is not in History so I can't manually remove it. Couldn't find anything in Settings. Why is this happening? BTW, instant search is disabled in my case.
