• javascript - Google Chrome cluttering Array generated from .split()

  Given the following string: var str = "one,two,three"; If I split the string on the commas, I normally get an array, as expected: var arr = str.split(/\s*,\s*/); Trouble is that in Google Chrome (for Mac), it appends extra properties to the array. Output from Chrome's debugger: arr: Array 0: one 1: two 2: three constructor: function Array() index: undefined input: undefined length: 3 So if I iterate over the array with a for/in loop, it iterates over the new properties. Specifically the input and index properties. Using hasOwnProperty doesn't seem to help. A fix would be to do a for loop based on the length of the Array. Still I'm wondering if anyone has insight into why Chrome behaves this way. Firefox and Safari don't have this issue.

  I've got a trouble with creating mysql Query. My PHP script executes this query on each run: INSERT INTO Executes SET UserIp='%s' (%s is user IP) Executes table is: ExecuteId UNSIGNED BIGINT AI PRIMARY Date TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP INDEX UserIp CHAR(24) ... | Some Columns I want to retrive number of Executes in each hour. The most obvious solution would be: SELECT COUNT(*) as ExecutesNum, DATE(Date) as D, HOUR(Date) as H GROUP BY D, H And it works, BUT it does not create rows for hours where there were no executes. What should I modify to get result like: 1 | 2012-09-01 | 14 **0 | 2012-09-01 | 15** 11 | 2012-09-01 | 16 1 | 2012-09-01 | 17

• How to achieve Bottom Align floated div that sizes to it's container.

  How can I achieve the following layout? Specifically the positioning of Image and DIV I've found that unless I set a specific width for the Div, it will just go on to the next line and take up the full width of the container. Additionally aligning it relative to the bottom of the image is giving me trouble. Currently they're both float:left Edit: The two solutions so far work if the image is a constant width which I guess I could work with, but it's going in a Wordpress theme for an author's profile page and it's possible that images would have slightly variable widths. Is there a solution that would have the Div right next to the image (minus padding) regardless of how wide or narrow the image is? Basically having the div adjust its width to accommodate the image width.

• Python 2.7 creating a multidimensional list

  I don't know why I am having so much trouble creating a 3 dimensional list. I need the program to create an empty n by n list. So for n = 4: x = [[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]]] I've tried using: y = [n*[n*[]]] y = [[[]]* n for i in range(n)] Which both appear to be creating copies of a reference. I've also tried naieve application of the list builder with little success: y = [[[]* n for i in range(n)]* n for i in range(n)] y = [[[]* n for i in range(1)]* n for i in range(n)] I've also tried building up the array iteratively using loops, with no success. In my rapid flurry of attempts to not post something stupidly easy to SO, I came upon a solution: y = [] for i in range(0,n): y.append([[]*n for i in range(n)]) Is there an easier/ more intuitive way of doing this?

  I am trying to put the following data from my for loop into a table formatted so that there are 11 values of F in each column, with a total of 4 columns. but I am always ending up with one long column of my data instead of the four columns I want. I was wondering if there is some way to put the data into a matrix and then reshape it, but I am having trouble. • Setting a form field's valule during validation

  Hi, I read about this issue already, but I'm having trouble understanding why I can't change the value of a form's field during validation. I have a form where a user can enter a decimal value. This value has to be higher than the initial value of the item the user is changing. During clean(), the value that was entered is checked against the item's previous value. I would like to be able to re-set the form field's value to the item's initial value when a user enters a lower value. Is this possible from within the clean() method, or am I forced to do this in the view? Somehow, it doesn't feel right to do this in the view... (To make matters more complicated, the form's fields are built up dynamically, meaning I have to override the form's clean() method instead of using the clean_() method). Thanks in advance!

• iOS - How to pass information from the VIEW to the Controller?

  I am fairly new to programming in general, and have been following the CS193p videos on iTunesU. I am currently doing assignment 3, and am having trouble getting a bit of information from the View sent to the View Controller. I believe I have set up the whole delegation thing correctly, so the question really is to how to get my View Controller to see a bit of information (such as self.bounds.size.width), which is a property that only the View has. Would this involve using self.dataSource? And if so, through what means could I pass this bit of information? Thanks!!

  Its been a long time since i've done C++ and I'm running into some trouble with classes referencing eachother. right now I have something like: a.h class a { public: a(); bool skeletonfunc(b temp); } ==================== b.h class b { public: b(); bool skeletonfunc(a temp); } since each one needs a reference to the other i've found I cant do a #include of eachother at the top or i end up in a weird loop of sorts with the includes. So how can I make it so that a can use b and vice versa with out making a cyclical #include problem. thanks!

  I'm having trouble figuring out the scope method for all the Foos that have no Bars. That is: class Foo < ActiveRecord::Base has_may :bars end class Bar < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :foo end I'd like to write a scope method that returns me all the foos that have no bars. Something like: class Foo < ActiveRecord::Base has_may :bars scope :has_no_bars, includes(:bars).where("COUNT(foo.bars) = 0") end But I don't understand the appropriate syntax. Any help?   I'm having a trouble that I can't export japanese texts to excel (xls). I feel that I'm doing this the wrong way, and it could be easier, I just don't know the syntax: $data['members'] = $this->home_model->getUser($id); $credit = $this->home_model->getCredit($id); if ($credit == '0'){stuff...} So I'm getting the user's data that has their the same information as "getCredit" does, but I don't know how to get the single variable that I need for my if statement... How can I just use the "getUser" function so that I'm not pulling redundant information?

  Having trouble installing the nokogiri gem under rvm ruby 1.9.1. gem install nokogiri I'm getting ... /usr/include/libxml2... no libxml2 is missing. try 'port install libxml2' or 'yum install libxml2-devel' *** extconf.rb failed *** but i checked: sudo apt-get install libxml2 and i got: Reading state information... Done libxml2 is already the newest version. is this a root thing perhaps? RVM runs everything in userspace.

I have the following log file, and i want to parse it and find the errors and then compare them to user expected results and if it doesnt match then error or else pass.... the part that i am having trouble with is finding error within the log.... • Remove \r from a string in C++

  Hi, in a C++ program, there is a point when it reads a string like: "NONAME_1_1\r" the \r is causing me trouble. I guess it prints or adds something like "^M". Is it right? Anyway it casues me problem, and I want to get rid of it. I can not modify the input. I wonder how could I at this point, using C++, and in the easiest way, to remove \r for this string. I know how to do it on bash but no clue on C++. Thanks.

  I'm a bit new to programming, and based on the few sources I've read both on the web and the books I'm learning to teach myself they are able to define what IF THEN and SELECT CASE conditional statements are, but have failed to give a comparison as to why I would use one over the other and what best practices decide this. If I'm understanding these conditional statements correctly, then both are based on a set of conditions with an outcome based around meeting these conditions, and if no conditions are met then an alternative outcome can be defined. I'm having trouble in understanding when I would use an IF THEN statement, and when I'd use a SELECT CASE statement, and what best practices are used to define this decision. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

I was thinking that I could extract the first n characters from s, then use that in a comparison with s, but I'm not sure how I could do that.   I'm trying to figure out how to do operations based on values in an array. The values are taken from a string and inserted into the array e.g num = TextBox.Text.Split(' '); results = Convert.ToDouble(num[0]); for (int i = 0; i < num.Length - 1; i++) { if (num[i] == "+") { results += Convert.ToDouble(num[i++]); } ... } So based on this, let's say the TextBox string value was "1 + 2". So the array would be: ------------- | 1 | + | 2 | ------------- 0 1 2 (indexes) The part I'm having trouble with is Convert.ToDouble(num[i++]).. I've tried num[1] + 1, num[i + 1], etc I'm trying to figure out how to get it to perform the operation based on the first value and the value in the index after the operator. Which is the correct way to do something like this?

• Vim: `cd` to path stored in variable

  I'm pretty new to vim, and I'm having a hard time understanding some subtleties with vim scripting. Specifically, I'm having trouble working with commands that expect an unquoted-string (is there a name for this?). For example cd some/unquoted/string/path The problem is that I'd like to pass a variable, but calling let pathname = 'some/path' cd pathname will try to change the current directory to 'pathname' instead of 'some/path'. One way around this is to use let cmd = 'cd ' . pathname execute cmd but this seems a bit roundabout. This StackOverflow question actually uses cd with a variable, but it doesn't work on my system ("a:path" is treated as the path as described above). I'm using cd as a specific example, but this behavior isn't unique to cd; for example, the edit command also behaves this way. (Is there a name for this type of command?)
