  • What tools do people use to make programming tutorial videos?

    Hi folks, I'm wanting to make some yee-run-o-the-mill tutorial video's about some programming concepts and stuff i've been doing. Nothing special ... lots of peeps been doing it. What tools are people using to record and edit these videos? What resolutions / fonts / sizes do people generally use/set? The only tool I've had experience with is Camtasia - and i didn't mind it. But i've seen vid's (or live demo's) where people zoom in to code sections.. how do they do that? For final editing, do most people just do some simple power point presentation with some video snippets mashed in. cheers!

    I have a video I need to convert to mp3 (from the command line - not GUI) video.mp4 I tried: ffmpeg -i -b 192 video.mp4 video.mp3 with no success. I get the following error: WARNING: library configuration mismatch Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 59.83 (29917/500) -> 59.75 (239/4) WARNING: The bitrate parameter is set too low.     I am building a video server application that has multiple projects in Visual Studio. One project, the video server project, needs to call a shell script to generate documentation. This works fine when you build the video server project, because the script is simply cd "$(SolutionDir)" start documentationgenerator However, there is also an SDK project that, when built, also builds the video server project. However, when it does this, it does not know where the shell script is, since it tries to use the SDK Project's Solution Directory. SDK Project Video Server Project shell script So the question is: how do I make the SDK Project find the Video Server Project? I checked the MSBuild properties and there are no properties that seem to deal with 'nested' projects.

  • Using the Onboard VGA output with a PCIe video card. Both nVidia

    I have 2 video cards, one On board, a nVidia 6150SE nForce 430 and a PCIe nVidia GeForce GT 220 1GB DDR2 RAM I have already configured the PCIe card to use the dual monitor feature, using the VGA and HDMI ports, but now I want to add a third monitor, using the On board VGA port I have managed to enable the On board graphics processor, which is taking 400MB of ram, but I cant manage to use it, nvidia-settings does not detect it, like it's not usable (but is there) My questions are the following: How can I manage to get the On board VGA display to work together with the PCIe graphics card? If possible, how can I recover those 400 MB the on board card is taking (even without being used) or how can I get it to use the PCIe card available memory? System Details: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic i686 Ubuntu 10.10 (All updates installed) NVIDIA Driver Version: 260.19.06 (Official) If more info is needed please let me know.   • Can I get my video card to output a DVI and VGA signal at the same time?

    Hey All, I've got: a lovely 24" monitor, w/both DVI and VGA inputs, a personal desktop w/a Radeon HD Pro 2400 video card (both DVI and VGA outputs) a work laptop w/both outputs, and a KVM switch that handles VGA only Right now I've got laptop connected to the monitor's VGA, and the desktop connected to the DVI. This works, but requires me to switch the KVM and monitor input sources separately, which annoys me (I switch back & forth a lot to make skype calls & manage my music). I'd like to feed both VGA and DVI signals out of my desktop so I can do quick things on my desktop & switch right back, but then when I'm done working, switch the monitor over to DVI to get the crisper picture. Alas, just attaching both VGA and DVI cables to my desktop's video card did not do the trick. Can this card be persuaded to output both signals at the same time? Many thanks! -Roy

  • How to crop black bars or zoom on Youtube and other Video websites?

    Many desktop software (VLC, MPC) and have an option to 'zoom in' , 'crop black bars', or crop to a specific aspect ratio. How can we do this in Fullscreen on Youtube or other flash Video sites? I am the viewer, NOT the video's creator/publisher. iOS Can do this (double tap to zoom, which removes black bars, zoom depth not configurable). afaik, Desktop computers (and android devices), cannot do this on the fly. The only 'workaround' I've found is F11 and zooming of the entire web page - basically a fake full screen and zooming the web page beyond the screen size. Use Case: watching 4:3 flash videos from the web on a widescreen monitor. Looking for all creative solutions, including any software that accesses YouTube without using a web browser.

    I'm thinking of setting up 4 monitors in a grid, using two video cards, one card to feed each pair of monitors through the card's two DVI ports. The most important requirement for me is to have the grid of monitors act as one single huge screen. Is this scenario possible by using two generic cards like Radeon 4870s on a Windows 7 computer? (I've heard of Eyefinity, but 4870s don't have it) Another issue is that I only have one PCI-Express slot on my computer's motherboard, therefore I'll need to use one of the lesser PCI cards as the second video card. Will this pose problems?

  • Are these symptoms of a video card is dying?

    What I am getting from my PC: Scrambled text in the boot menu. The scrambled text dissapears and everthing goes normal after several restarts, or the computer has worked for some time. Display goes blank showing, windows kernel mode driver stopped responding. Sometimes the windows just hangs, I need to restart the pc for that. There used to be some scrambled colors in my windows, so I cleaned up my video carda and port and reinstalled the video card, things are something right. The pc runs normally for hours in safe mode, as diffault display driver works at that case. My PC specs: Core 2 Duo processor 2 GB RAM NVIDIA EN210 SILENT GPU Windows 8 Drivers details: NVIDIA drivers - v331.65, told to be fully compatible with Win8 Currently I am installing Windows 7 and will be putting the older version of driver v320 to test, yet I'm really confused weather my GPU is dying or still on go.

    I've finally managed to set up my two ATI Radeon 6950 video cards in my machine, but the cards can get quite hot. Based on the arrangement of my apartment, I want to be able to SSH into the machine an execute a command to find out the temperature. What I have tried so far is this... export DISPLAY=:0.0 sudo aticonfig --adapter=0 --od-gettemperature However, when I do that via SSH, I get the following error: ERROR - X needs to be running to perform ATI Overdrive(TM) commands If I turn on X forwarding when I remote into the machine, then it just seems to affect my local machine instead of the remote machine. Am I doing this correctly? Is there a better way to monitor my video card's temperature?

    How do i render a web cam filter instead of video file? I am looking at the vmr9compositor example included in the directshow sdk. It renders a video file. I would like to stream in the feed from the webcam. It SEEMS like this should be possible, but I dont have much of a grasp on directshow. It uses this method call currently: hr = g_graph->RenderFile( pFileName, NULL ); Looking at the playcap example in the sdk which can display the web cam feed in a window, I see that it uses hr = g_pCapture->RenderStream (&PIN_CATEGORY_PREVIEW, &MEDIATYPE_Video, pSrcFilter, NULL, NULL)); to display the web cam stream. pSrcFilter is an IBaseFilter. How can I can swap the video file in the vmr app with the web cam feed? Windows XP, Visual Studio 2008 C++

I have kept some dummy image in the cell at image place and remaining space ion cell is with some labels and buttons. I need the image preview of the video with play symbol on it.   • Embedded quicktime video pause on click how to prevent?

    I embedded a quicktime video in firefox. It works, but i would like to prevent the users to stop the video by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Reading the apple documentation i didn't find any answear. I came up with a workaround, i just put an almost invisible div over the whole video. The workaround works in firefox for os X, but oddly does not for the same version of firefox in windows. I would appreciate a way, workaround or not, to achive this at least in the windows/firefox environment. Thanks!

    I'm trying to track down an example like Apple's MultipleDetailViews sample for UISplitViewController, but using storyboards. Their sample code provides functionality similar to what I'm after, I'm just having trouble getting it to work in my app that uses storyboards. It's driving me nuts! Anyone seen an example/tutorial?     I'm trying to use Zend_ProgressBar in my project (made using MVC in Zend Framework). Unfortunately, I cannot find any full example on how to use it. Zend Programmer's Reference Guide has only some code snippets, which are not enough for me. Basically, I don't know how incorporate Zend_ProgressBar with some action in a controller and associated views. Does anyone know of the simples example or tutorial of zend application that uses Zend_ProgressBar? Many thanks
