  • Updating AjaxToolKit Breaks WCF Service for AutoCompleteExtender

    I had a perfectly working WCF service that I used for a custom AutoCompleteExtender but when I updated the AjaxControlToolKit.dll the service no longer works. I changed nothing else but removing the old DLL and adding the new one. Is there something else I need to update that I am missing? I can access the service so I know it's working properly but the methods are just not getting called by the AutoCompleteExtender.

  • OSX/Darwin unresolved symbols when linking functions from <math.h>

    I'm in the process of porting a large'ish (~1M LOC) project from a Window/Visual Studio environment to other platforms, the first of which happens to be Mac OS X. Originally the project was configured as Visual Studio solutions and projects, but now I'm using (the excellent) Premake (http://industriousone.com/premake) to generate project files for multiple platforms (VS, XCode, GMake). I configured, ported and built the first few projects without any significant problems, but having ported the math lib, I ran into this weird linking error that I haven't been able to resolve: Any functions used from math.h will fail to link (causing unresolved symbols). For reference, I'm using Premake v4.2.1 to generate projects for XCode v3.2.1, which is building using gcc v4.2 for the x86_64 architecture. (All this on 64-bit Snow Leopard) I've tried to persuade gcc to link and build everything against a 'known' SDK by adding -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 to the build command line. Now under normal circumstances, adding -lm should take care of this, however in Darwin, those math libs are included in libSystem, which, as far as I can tell, gets implicitly linked by gcc/ld. I've tried creating a dummy project from within XCode which just runs: float f = log2(2.0)+log2f(3.f)+log1p(1.1)+log1pf(1.2f)+sin(8.0); std::cout << f << std::endl; and as expected, this builds just fine. However, if I put the same thing in the code inside the Premake generated project, all those math functions end up unresolved. Now comparing the linking command from the 'native' XCode project with my generated XCode project, they seem pretty identical (except that my generated project links other libs as well). 'Native' project: /Developer/usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -dynamiclib -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk -Lsomepath -Fsomepath -filelist somefile -install_name somename -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 -single_module -compatibility_version 1 -current_version 1 -o somename Generated project: /Developer/usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -dynamiclib -Lsomepath -Fsomepath -filelist somefile -install_name somename -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 somelib.a somelib2.a somelib.dylib somelib2.dylib -single_module -compatibility_version 1 -current_version 1 -o somename Any help or hints about how to proceed would be most appreciated. Are there any gcc flags or other tools that can help me resolve this?

  • Eclipse Plugin project with other project dependencies

    I have an Eclipse plugin project, and it depends on other projects that I have in my Eclipse workspace. After adding the project dependencies under "Java Build Path" - "Projects" tab, and also selecting the project in the "Order and Export" I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError. I'm assuming that the other projects have not been properly included into the plugin. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks, James

    Hi, When I try to set the header properties on a WebRequest object, I get the following exception This header must be modified using the appropriate property I've tried modifying the .Headers propery and adding them that way like so webRequest.Headers.Add(HttpRequestHeader.Referer, "http://stackoverflow.com"); But still getting exceptions. I can get around this by casting the WebRequest object to a HttpWebRequest and setting the properties such as httpWebReq.Referer ="http://stackoverflow.com" But I'd like to know if there's a way to get a finer grained control over modifying headers with a request for a remote resource.   • Cannot add Silverlight Maps Control to Windows Mobile 7 application

    I know the bits just came out today, but one of the first things I want to do with the newly released Windows Mobile 7 SDK is put a map up on the screen and mess around. I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. When I try to build I get two warnings related to the Microsoft.Maps.MapControl dll's. Warning 1 The primary reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. "Silverlight,Version=v4.0,Profile=WindowsPhone". To resolve this problem, either remove the reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" or retarget your application to a framework version which contains "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e".     I have a little bit of a problem in a multitasking java department. To work with threads I'm using public static int THREAD_NUMBER = 4; public static ExecutorServide es = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(THREAD_NUMBER); adding instances of ThreadWroker class happens here: public void recursiveMethod(Arraylist<Integers> elements, MyClass data){ if (elements.size() == 0 && data.qualifies()){ ThreadWorker tw = new ThreadWorker(data); es.execute(tw); return; } for (int i=0; i< elements.size(); i++){ // some code to prevent my problem MyClass data1 = new MyClass(data); MyClass data2 = new MyClass(data); ArrayList<Integer> newElements = (ArrayList<Integer>)elements.clone(); data1.update(elements.get(i)); data2.update(-1 * elements.get(i)); newElements.remove(i); recursiveMethod(newElements, data1); recursiveMethod(newElements, data2); { } and the problem is that the depth of the recursion tree is quite big, so as it's width, so a lot of ThreadWorkers are added to the ExecutorService, so after some time on the big input a get Exception in thread "pool-1-thread-2" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space which is caused, as I think because of a ginormous number of ThreadWorkers i'm adding to ExecutorSirvice to be executed, so it runs out of memory. Every ThreadWorker takes about 40 Mb of RAM for all it needs. Is there a method to get how many threads (instances of classes implementing runnable interface) have been added to ExecutorService? So I can add it in the shown above code (int the " // some code to prevent my problem"), as while ("number of threads in the ExecutorService" > 10){ Thread.sleep(10000); } so I won't go to deep or to broad with my recursion and prevent those exception-throwing situations. Should decimal values be quoted?

  • Populating ComboBoxDataColumn items and values

    I have a "populate combobox", and I'm so happy with it that I've even started using more comboboxes. It takes the combobox object by reference with the ID of the "value set" (or whatever you want to call it) from a table and adds the items and their respective values (which differ) and does the job. I've recently had the brilliant idea of using comboboxes in a gridview, and I was happy to notice that it worked JUST LIKE a single combobox, but populating all the comboboxes in the given column at the same time. ObjComboBox.Items.Add("yadayada"); //works just like ObjComboBoxColumn.Items.Add("blablabla"); But When I started planning how to populate these comboboxes I've noticed: There's no "Values" property in ComboBoxDataColumn. ObjComboBox.Values = whateverArray; //works, but the following doesn't ObjComboBoxColumn.Values = whateverArray; Questions: 0 - How do I populate it's values ? (I suspect it's just as simple, but uses another name) 1 - If it works just like a combobox, what's the explanation for not having this attribute ? -----[EDIT]------ So I've checked out Charles' quote, and I've figured I had to change my way of populating these bad boys. Instead of looping through the strings and inserting them one by one in the combobox, I should grab the fields I want to populate in a table, and set one column of the table as the "value", and other one as the "display". So I've done this: ObjComboBoxColumn.DataSource = DTConfig; //Double checked, guaranteed to be populated ObjComboBoxColumn.ValueMember = "Code"; ObjComboBoxColumn.DisplayMember = "Description"; But nothing happens, if I use the same object as so: ObjComboBoxColumn.Items.Add("StackOverflow"); It is added. There is no DataBind() function. It finds the two columns, and that's guaranteed ("Code" and "Description") and if I change their names to nonexistant ones it gives me an exception, so that's a good sign. -----[EDIT]------ I have a table in SQL Server that is something like code  |  text —————    1    | foo    2    | bar It's simple, and with other comboboxes (outside of gridviews) i've successfully populated looping through the rows and adding the texts: ObjComboBox.Items.Add(MyDataTable.Rows[I]["MyColumnName"].ToString()); And getting every value, adding it into an array, and setting it like: ObjComboBox.Values = MyArray; I'd like to populate my comboboxColumns just as simply as I do with comboboxes.

    I have an application where I would like to exchange information, managed via Core Data, between two iPhones. First turning the Core Data object to an NSDictionary (something very simple that gets turned into NSData to be transferred). My CoreData has 3 string attributes, 2 image attributes that are transformables. I have looked through the NSDictionary API but have not had any luck with it, creating or adding the CoreData information to it. Any help or sample code regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Jquery hasClass conditional not working

    Hey, I have my site going here: http://www.treethink.com I am trying to make it so when a navigation item is clicked, it retracts the news ticker on the right and then doesn't run any of the extracting/timer functions anymore. I got it to retract but it still extracts. How I am doing it is I am adding a "noTicker" class with the nav buttons and removing it with colorbox's close button. The function runs on the page initially and if there isn't a "noTicker" class it runs the news ticker as planned. When a nav or close button is clicked it runs the function again which checks again to see if it has that class. So if it has the class it should retract (which it is so that must mean it's adding the class properly) and then not run any of the timer functions, but it still runs the timer functions for some reason. When I try to insert/update details it stays on the same page without adding or updating anything into the database table. I really don't know what happened and don't know where start looking.
