  I am trying to use the Google Contacts API to connect to a user's contact information, on my Google apps domain. Generating an access_token using the gdata api's ContactsService clientlogin function while using the API key for my project works fine, but I would prefer to not store the user's credentials, and from the information I have found that method uses OAuth1.0 So, to use OAuth2.0 I have: Generated a Service Account in the developer's console for my project Granted access to the service account for the scope of https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/ in the Google apps domain admin panel Attempted to generate credentials using SignedJwtAssertionCredentials: credentials = SignedJwtAssertionCredentials( service_account_name=service_account_email, private_key=key_from_p12_file, scope='https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/', sub=user_email') The problem I am running into is that attempting to generate an access token using this method fails. It succeeds in generating the token when I remove the sub parameter, but then that token fails when I try to fetch the user's contacts. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

• How to test flash.message in a Grails webflow?

  I'm using webflows in Grails and I'm currently writing tests for it. Now, inside I've got something that throws an error so I set a message to the flash scope before redirecting: ... if (some_condition) { flash.message = "my error message" return error() } ... Now, I know that when I'm going to display this in the GSP page, I access the flash message as <g:if test="${message}">... instead of the usual <g:if test="${flash.message}">... So anyway, I'm writing my test and I'm wondering how to test the content of the message? Usually, in normal actions in the controllers, I follow what's written in here . However, since this is a webflow, I can't seem to find the message even if I check controller.flash.message / controller.params.message / controller.message . I've also tried looking at the flow scope... Any ideas on how to see the message then? Thanks a bunch!

• JSF Rendering Issue (Page getting cached)

  I am facing a strange issue with JSF. I have developed one controller and bind it to request scope. I need to access one jsf page like http://localhost:8080/selectRule.jsf?type=A and on the same IE session I want to issue another request like http://localhost:8080/selectRule.jsf?type=B as we can see, only the type is changing here. This is why I have a ruleController bound to request scope, so that every request, creates the controller and pulls out the data depending upon type. I have a private HtmlSelectOneMenu choices item in the page. What I see is, somehow only once in the session the getChoices() is getting called. This is what I see For each url, one new ruleController object is getting created. Only first time getChoices() are called. In the subsequent time, if I change the URL in the web browser, the getChoices() method are not getting called though a new controller is getting created. Note: I am using JSF 1.1

• Lookup function not working (RS SP2)

  Hi, I made the upgrade to SP2. I'm trying to use the Lookup function to link data from two different servers. I'm trying first a simple exercise linking data from two datasets from the same server, having one dataset with journals and the other with the account description. My Expression looks like this at a field on the table I have: =Lookup(Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTINDX.Value,Fields!ACTDESCR.Value,"ACCTINFO") I made sure of the names and using only uppercases for datasets and fields but I'm receiving the following message when I try to preview: "An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report '/DETAIL' is invalid. The Value expression for the text box 'ACTINDX' refers to the field 'ACTDESCR'. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified dataset scope". I'll appreciate any suggestions. Regards, Al

• Using report viewer, how do I pull from two seperate Datasets

  I have two datasets I need to pull from, A base that both reports use and then a separate one that only one report pulls from. I get the error Error 12 The Value expression for the text box ‘Textbox9’ refers to the field ‘Name’. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified dataset scope. My best guess is I have to associate them with the correct dataset but I have not been able to find any documentation on this. Can someone please tell me where in the rdlc document I need to code something like name.value, "dataset1" or something similar?

• Mailing list with dynamically generated addresses

  I am trying to implement a dynamic mailing list from a database that changes quite often. Conditions: Postfix is the MTA Email addresses are in a MySql Database Postfix only allows senders whose emails are in that database (via smtpd_sender_restrictions) Cron job extracts the current emails from the database nightly and puts them into an alias file, then runs postalias on it. This works well, but since the sender remains the same, many domains are rejecting the email since my server is not a DNS listed mail server for the sender's domain. So, I either have to find a way to re-write the outgoing address as "listserv@mydomain" or find some mailing list package that will use database-retrieved emails (either queried directly or in a flat file) as the subscriber list, with that list replaced daily. I've tried Sympa and am pretty much ready to give up on it - it's a nightmare to get working right - but that's the only open source listserver that I have seen that works with dynamic mail lists. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Joe

• Is it possible to use software raid in Windows 7 on the boot partition?

  I want to use RAID 1 on my workstation configuration at work, and I've been looking at using the build in mirror functionality in Windows 7. When you click on the add mirror option it presents you with the following warning. I've done some Google searching and the consensus seems to be that you cannot boot from a dynamic volume, but some forum posts seem to indicate that people have tried this with success (e.g. here). With Google searches producing contradictory information I thought I'd ask you guys for an authoritative answer. Can I use the inbuilt Windows 7 mirroring for my boot partition? Or as I suspect, will it make it unbootable due to it being converted to a dynamic disk?

• Regex - how to extract number which falls on specified ID?

  I'm trying to extract the number '1' that appears on the line with the ID I'm feeding (i.e. 12072). I've been trying for the past 2 hours to get this regex to work but I'm at a loss. So far I've got 12072.*?(\d+)(?!.*\d) but this extracts me everything from 12072 to the 1. Here's the text: <td id="12072" scope="#999999" bgcolor="#999999" style="width: 65; color:#999999" align="center" onclick="DaySelect(this)" title="">1</td> <td id="12073" scope="#999999" bgcolor="#999999" style="width: 65; color:#999999" align="center" onclick="DaySelect(this)" title="">1</td> How can I match just the number 1 from the end of the line of the specified ID, surely there's a way to do this? Help would be highly appreciated.

When is that memory cleaned up? I assume that when Factoy.GetToys() returns the ToyBox object, the only reference to the ToyBox object is the one in main(), so when that reference goes out of scope, the Toy objects and the ToyBox object are marked for garbage collection.   I have some business logic that executes within a simple TransactionScope. using (var scope = new TransactionScope()) { // does some logic. // then some more... scope.Complete(); } During execution an ado exception ocurres and the transaction is on it's way to being disposed. In the mean time the exception is captured further upstream, and I try to log it to my database, via another connection. At this point I get another error saying The operation is not valid for the state of the transaction. Eeek! Now I can see I am able to use IsolationLevel, to change the way my transactions interact, but is this the right thing to do? And which should I use?

• How to setup VPN on home network

  I am a software developer. I travel and sometimes have a need to access my files at home and tweak other family members computers. I would like to connect to my home network via VPN and then RDP into whatever machine i need to. Currently i have a Windows Server 08 machine, which is my file server, database server, web server (for development work), source control repository, etc. (and also somewhat of a workstation when i need it to be). I want to use this same machine to run my VPN through. I have a linksys WRTG54 router. My ISP is AT&T DSL, with a dynamic IP address - so i'm assuming I'll either need to request a static IP or sign up with one of those static ip services.. where it keeps your dynamic ip synced up with a static one. While I do understand software engineering I am no expert in networking. What do i need to do to setup my VPN?

  I have two projects, both of them data access layers, and both using EF. I have another project calling services related to the two different assemblies. Are there any pitfalls on using two different models on two different databases linked to the same database? I'm asking this because I've been getting this generic "EntitySqlException" could not be resolved in the current scope or context. Make sure that all referenced variables are in scope, that required schemas are loaded, and that namespaces are referenced correctly., near escaped identifier. that does not appear when are run separately but appear when under the same project.

• Can you call FB.login inside a callback from other FB methods (like FB.getLoginStatus) without triggering popup blockers?

  I'm trying to set up a pretty basic authentication logic flow with the FB JavaScript SDK to check a user's logged-in status and permissions before performing an action (and prompting the user to login with permissions if they are not)... User types a message into a textarea on my site to post to their Facebook feed and click's a 'post to facebook' button on my site. In response to the click, I check user's logged in status with FB.getLoginStatus In the callback to FB.getLoginStatus, if user is not logged in, prompt them to login (FB.login). In the callback to FB.login I then need to make sure they have the right permissions so I make a call to FB.api('/me/permissions') -- if they don't , I again prompt them to login (FB.login) The problem I'm running into is that anytime I try to call FB.login inside a callback to other FB methods, the browser seems to lose track of the origin of execution (the click) and thus will block the popup. I'm wondering if I'm missing some way to prompt the user to login after checking their status without the browser mistakenly thinking that it's not a user-initiated popup? I've currently fallen back to just calling FB.login() first regardless. The undesired side effect of this approach, however, is that if the user is already logged-in with permissions and I'm still calling FB.login, the auth popup will open and close immediately before continuing, which looks rather buggy despite being functional. It seems like checking a user's login status and permissions before doing something would be a common flow so I feel like I'm missing something.   I recently switched to Linux and wanted to compile my Visual Studio 2010 C++ source code, which uses only the STL, on G++. My Linux machine currently isn't available but I can try to tell you what is going on, first: As I try to compile my project, all global variables I use in main and which perfectly work on MSVC result in myGlobalVar is not defined in this scope errors.   Hi All These days I am reading the pdf Designing MT programs . It explains that the user MUST explicitly call detach() on an object of class std::thread in C++0x before that object gets out of scope. If you don't call it std::terminate() will be called and the application will die. I usually use boost::thread for threading in C++. Correct me if I am wrong but a boost::thread object detaches automatically when it get out of scope. Is seems to me that the boost approach follow a RAII principle and the std doesn't.   In my network there is a Cisco ASA 55x0 with "inside" interface (network 192.168.79.0/24) and "outside" interface (network 89.x.x.48/29) There is this nat rule: object network NAToutside nat (inside,outside) dynamic interface and the static route route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 89.x.x.49 1 and all ACL rules. Now I have another new outside network by another ISP called "outside2", this network is already natted and the Cisco ASA in in the network 192.168.70.0/24. I would use this network as a fallback one. So I set the nat rule: object network NAToutside2 nat (inside,outside2) dynamic interface and the static route with a different metric route outside2 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.70.1 2 Clearly it doesn't work: when I disconnect the outside ethernet cable no workstation can connect to the Internet throught the outside2 network... What do I need more?

• SSH tunnel doesn't work

  I am trying to use my server as a "proxy" with ssh. However, setting up tunneling with ssh -D localhost:8000 user@myserver does not work. I tested this on various machines with ssh and putty - It connects just fine, but when I set my browser settings accordingly, I just get an error "Connection has been reset". I tried monitoring the traffic with wireshark, but I didn't even see some tunnel-traffic. I explicitly set AllowTcpForwarding to "yes" but I still can't use the tunnel. When running ssh in verbose mode, I don't get any errors but debug1: Connection to port 8000 forwarding to socks port 0 requested. debug1: channel 3: new [dynamic-tcpip] debug1: channel 3: free: dynamic-tcpip, nchannels 4 What am I doing wrong?

• Boost Shared Pointer: Simultaneous Read Access Across Multiple Threads

  I have a thread A which allocates memory and assigns it to a shared pointer. Then this thread spawns 3 other threads X, Y and Z and passes a copy of the shared pointer to each. When X, Y and Z go out of scope, the memory is freed. But is there a possibility that 2 threads X, Y go out of scope at the exact same point in time and there is a race condition on reference count so instead of decrementing it by 2, it only gets decremented once. So, now the reference count newer drops to 0, so there is a memory leak. Note that, X, Y and Z are only reading the memory. Not writing or resetting the shared pointer. To cut a long story short, can there be a race condition on the reference count and can that lead to memory leaks?

  Hi, I had created a web part on MOSS 2007 which displays a organizational chart by searching (Full Text) the user profiles. To identify the subordinates of a user, I used to search for users with the particular user in Manager property. The query looked like this: SELECT AccountName, PreferredName, Manager, WorkEmail FROM scope() WHERE ("SCOPE" = 'People') AND Manager = 'domain\parent_user' But, the same query does not run in SharePoint 2010 as Manager crawled property does not exists. So, I created a new crawled property and mapped it to People:Manager(Text) now, the Manager property is always empty. Even a full crawl after clearing the indexes also not helping. Can anyone please help me in getting manager information in Full Text Search? Thanks in advance!
