• Hostname Problem On WHM / cPanel Installation

  My CentOS 5.6 server's hostname was "centos" . And then i change it to my domain : hostname domain.com And i started to installing WHM / cPanel as explained in here : http://etwiki.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/InstallationGuide/InstallingCpanel It's installed very well. And the i reboot my server. After rebooting, i was execute this command for open WHM's 2087 port : iptables -I RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 2087 -j ACCEPT Now i'm trying to browse domain.com:2087 i'm getting Server (centos) not found .I noticed it's forwarding to my old hostname (centos) . And then execute this command to verify me hostname hostname it's returned "centos" again. I'm not sure, why it's returned to old hostname. (I think it returned to old hostname after rebooting) . I'm changed it one more time : hostname domain.com Finally, now my hostname is domain.com . BUt still i'm getting centos server not found error. This is result of iptables -L command. P.S. : domain.com/cpanel is working

• Password problem while creating domain

  Hi, I'm freshman so far in server management stuff but this seems to be clearly against logic. After updating my Windows Server 2008 Standard 32bit, installing DNS server and AD DS I wanted to create domain via using CMD and dcpromo.exe setup. But no matter if I disable demand for comlex password in Password policies or create a password which fully comply with requirements for strong and complex password, still I can't get any further and it says that my password doesn't meet requirements. I'm also asked there to activate password demand by NET USER -passwordreq:yes and when I do so, this password doesn't work any more and I have to remove it from other admin account to be at least able to login with proper Administrator account.

• i7 overclocking problem

  Hi everyone, I've got an overclocked system that seems to be misbehaving. When trying to boot up from cold the system just hangs and nothing is output to the screen. Fans are on as they should but nothing happens to finish the boot. From here I have to switch it off then on again and the boot completes. If I go into the tweak menu in the BIOS I'm informed that a boot has failed I've been in touch with Overclockers UK support a bit and theres not yet been a solution. We've mainly been tweaking the voltage for the CPU. Any suggestions? I'm new to Overclocking which is why I got a bundle with OCUK. With this issue happening on Cold Boot too its tricky to test as I have to make a change then wait till the next day. My system is here: Intel Core i7 930 2.80Ghz overclocked to 4GHz Gigabyte X58A-UD3R (BIOS Version: FC) 6GB RAM Power Supply - CoolerMaster Silent Pro M series 700W One suggestion made by OCUK was that maybe its the power supply but I'm not sure and dont have a spare - it's brand new and a pretty expensive piece of kit. Any thoughts on this? Other recomendations for Power? thanks Ben

  I'm trying to update my ubuntu desktop. When it tries to update mysql-server-5.1, it freezes up saying preparing to update mysql-server-5.1. It won't let me do any other updates, because it says that things are broken, and tells me to reinstall this. I don't use mysql-server, so i would be happy to just remove the whole thing. But it won't let me do a remove.

  I am migrating a bunch of sites which each use an Access database (or whatever an MDB file is). If I try to load the site, I get the following error: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005' [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied If I rename the MDB file, I get a complaint that the file does not exist, which makes sense. If the file is named correctly, the site tries to load for about 30 seconds or so, and then just fails with the above message. During this waiting period, I can see a lock file being created (and then at some point removed). The MDB file and it's parent dir have full permissions granted to all users. Given that the lock file is successfully created and removed, I don't think that this is a "real" permission issue. The OS is Windows Server 2003 SP2. I am not sure about much more detail on it's config wrt Access databases. I also don't know what version it is expected to be.   Whenever I use my iPod Touch G4 (iOS 4.1) at home, I cannot play Youtube videos using the Youtube app. The lists of videos shows correctly, but when I tap to play a video and the video toolbar shows up, a dialog box shows "The server is not correctly configured" and the video is not played. When I turn off my Privoxy (v3.0.15) proxy, the video plays correctly. How can I use Privoxy as the global default proxy while still retaining Youtube App functionality?

  Hello, A DAS box is attached to my linux box using LSI SCSI HBA. Volume is properly detected on the linux box and filesystem is created using mkfs.ext2 /dev/sdc #No partition table I can not mount the volume using mount/dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 But I can mount it using mount /dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 -o loop Can anybody please tell me what "-o loop" option does internally? • Problem hosting server behing personal router

  I recently bought the domain name lucidcontraptions.com and want to host the website from home. I have a D-Link router in which I have set up my personal virtual server correctly. My application server is Apache 2.2. The server works perfectly with the following settings: External IP: 207.172.xx.xx. Public port: 8888 Internal IP: 192.168.xx.xx. Private port: 80 If I go to 207.172.xx.xx:8888/ the server works perfectly and my Apache page shows up without any issues, both from inside the intranet as well as outside. This setting would not work out for me as I am not allowed port numbers in my DNS management. Now when I tweak the settings to the following: External IP: 207.172.xx.xx. Public port: 80 Internal IP: 192.168.xx.xx. Private port: 80 If I go to 207.172.xx.xx/ the server works perfectly and my Apache page shows up without any issues, BUT ONLY FROM INSIDE THE INTRANET. This page does not show up for people outside the intranet.

  After upgrading a computer from Centos3 to Centos5 an application that does a lot of scrolling took a very high performance hit. top tells me that X is using a lot of CPU and that was not happening before. The machine has an ATI Rage XL with 8MB and X is using the ati driver as there is no proprietary ATI driver for this board on linux. • SQL Server Backup problem when browsing to the directory

  I want to allow a group (eg. 'BackupManagers') who can only preform backup and restore operations on certain databases. When creating the BackupManagers user account I checked db_backupoperator. When the user logs in to create a backup they get an error message similar to the following when the select Tasks - Backup - Click on Add in the destiantion block - click on the "..." button to browse TITLE: Locate Database Files - MYSERVER\SQL2005 E:\MSSQL\Backup Cannot access the specified path or file on the server. Verify that you have the necessary security privileges and that the path or file exists. If you know that the service account can access a specific file, type in the full path for the file in the File Name control in the Locate dialog box. I have confirmed that the user has permissions to the folder. I have even created a share to this folder and had them access it through explorer. They are able to create and delete files within the folder. I have found that if they type in the path to the file instead of using the "..." button to browse the directory tree then they can create a backup file fine. Why is the browse button not working as expected? Thanks!

  I have an Iomega Network Attached Storage device on my Windows network. I am trying to use a clonezilla live USB flash drive to backup my netbook to my Iomega Network Attached Storage device. The clonezilla USB flash drive runs linux. I'm having trouble getting the Network Attached Storage unit to mount using the following command: mount -t cifs -o username="myUsername" //192.168.1.100/backup /home/partimg The response from linux is: [134.730738] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -6 retrying with upper case share name [134.788461] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -6 mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) I also tried adding the following to my username: username="myUsername,domain=workgroup" but that did not change the error. I am able to ping the network attached storage unit from linux on my netbook. I also booted from a Slax Live USB Flash Drive and Slax auto-mounted my network attached storage unit via Samba. Unfortunately, I don't believe that I can run clonezilla from inside the Slax installation. Does anyone have any insight about what is wrong with my mount statement? Or is there something peculiar about Iomega drives which makes this impossible?

I want b.org emails to forward to users at a.org emails . My sendmail is getting confused and is delivering all b.org emails locally instead of forwarding them to a.org (which is specified in the .forward) .   Im converting lots of .doc files into .pdf using nitro pdf express.The program isn't finish converting the 37 files yet maybe 10 are converted and are in the output directory already.
