• Is there any way to force an iPhone application to relaunch?

  Basically -[UIApplication openURL:] would be perfect, if it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't work within the same application (at least on simulator -- if this works on device someone please tell me). It's not a super big deal though if it just relaunches w/o URLness since I can obviously just persist some data. The goal of this is to essentially free all memory in the application and call all of the loading procedures.

  hi, I'm loading from my main page an external js file, with a function. I have a flash file in the main page invoking the javascript function. Everything worked very well until when the javascript code was in the main file, but when I moved javascript to an external file the function seems not called anymore. So... there is no way to move the javascript code to an external file ? Or any other solution ? thanks

  I've just made a program with Eclipse that takes a really long time to execute. It's taking even longer because it's loading my CPU to 25% only (I'm assuming that is because I'm using a quad-core and the program is only using one core). Is there any way to make the program use all 4 cores to max it out? Java is supposed to be natively multi-threaded, so I don't understand why it would only use 25%.

• Quicktime logo! Can it be hidden / disabled?

  Hi there, just wondering if it is possible to hide/disable the quicktime logo when displaying .MOV video on my site? Because the size of the video is large (3MB), I have included a rotating loading animation, however once the video player loads, the Quicktime logo hides the animation, which makes the user less likely in my opinion to wait for the movie to load?   i have a parent window and a child window. in javascript, i want a function in child window to be called whenever the parent window loads a new page. i'd like to use something similar to jQuery's $(document).ready() so that I don't have to worry about whether the parent is done loading yet - but ready() only appears to fire when the window loads the first page - but not when, say, a link is clicked in the parent and it loads a second page. any suggestions? thanks.

My user control just has two textboxes for now, but I am not able to persist my inputs across postbacks. My ids are same everytime.   I'm using the 'poster' attribute on a video tag and the way it seems to work at least in webkit browsers is that it loads the poster image and then once enough of the video has loaded, it replaces that poster with an auto-generated poster from the video file itself. However, my poster images don't match the auto-generated posters which results in a weird experience of one image loading, then being replaced in a few seconds by the auto-generated image. Is there any way to prevent the auto-generated image from being used?

  Here is my test: I access a servlet to get the JVM to load (absorb the loading request). Then i access a JSP that has <%= 5+7 %> in it and nothing else. The first access to this JSP uses 350ms of CPU time and has latency of 200ms. Subsequent accesses only have latency and cpu time of about 20ms. Why does the first access to the jsp after starting the servlet container take longer?

As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)

  good day we are developing game for android and have some trouble with resource loading on high dpi devices. our resources are located in res/drawable directory on a standart dpi device the game work properly, but on hdpi (tested on HTC Desire) all resources which located in res/drawable-hdpi load are loaded correctly, but the resources which miss in drawable-hdpi directory but present in res/drawable are ignored but everything works fine on the virtual device with hdpi. does anybody encounter this problem and know how to solve it?

• TableView Background image going over cell textLabel

  Currently my tableview looks like this: as you can see, cell.textLabel and cell.detailTextLable both load this background, and i can't work out how to get them to stop loading the background, and for it only to be the backing on the cell.
