    I have the follow structure which is created with a nested sortable: <UL id="container"> <LI id="main1"> <input type="checkbox" /> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur <UL> <LI id="child2"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI id="main3"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> <LI id="main4"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> <LI id="main5"> <input type="checkbox" /> In hac habitasse platea dictumst. <UL></UL> </LI> </UL> Where I'm stuck is how to send this back to the database. I"m guessing that it needs to be serialized, does that sound right to? so that is looks something like: item[]=main1&item[]=221&item_221[]=21&item_221[]=2&item_221[]=211&item[]=22 I'm a little lost at this point and appreciate any tips to move me in the right direction. (I. e. if the loginid in the function corresponds to any of the usernames that currently appear in editorlist.php.) Appearing on editorlist.php is something that is dynamic. How can I do this?     Hi all, I am learning java. I am trying to use composite design pattern. I am trying to use following logic. ( Don't laugh I know it is very basic :) ) Item -> interface Folder -> class File -> class In folder class, can I create an arraylist of Item to store files information? ArrayList<Item> info = ArrayList<Item>(); Or should I use Folder Arraylist? ArrayList<Folder> info = ArrayList<Folder>(); I don't know if interface can store real data as there is no variable just function definitions. Thanks for helping a newbie :)

    I currently have the following function to get the divisors of an integer: -- All divisors of a number divisors :: Integer -> [Integer] divisors 1 = [1] divisors n = firstHalf ++ secondHalf where firstHalf = filter (divides n) (candidates n) secondHalf = filter (\d -> n `div` d /= d) (map (n `div`) (reverse firstHalf)) candidates n = takeWhile (\d -> d * d <= n) [1..n] I ended up adding the filter to secondHalf because a divisor was repeating when n is a square of a prime number. This seems like a very inefficient way to solve this problem. So I have two questions: How do I measure if this really is a bottle neck in my algorithm? And if it is, how do I go about finding a better way to avoid repetitions when n is a square of a prime?

  • Play bitmap animation list in reverse order?

    I have a bitmap animation defined in XML, to open a door. I also need to animate closing the door, which contains the same frames but in reverse order. I don't want to create a second XML for this. The only reverse parameter I found in the documentation is related with repeating, and this doesn't apply, since I want the opening animation to finish when the door is closed and not continue to closing animation. I also found some threads about using a custom interpolator, but can I use / makes sense with a bitmap animation? How can I play the XML animation in reverse order?

For the sake of completeness, let me also quote the parts of the Handle class template that I think are relevant to my question (I think I don't need to show the Item_base class): template <class T> class Handle { public: // unbound handle Handle(T *p = 0): ptr(p), use(new size_t(1)) { } private: T* ptr; // shared object size_t *use; // count of how many Handles point to *ptr }; I would have expected something like either: a) Sales_item(): h(0) { } which is a convention the authors have used repeatedly in earlier chapters, or b) Handle<Item_base>() if the intention was to invoke the default constructor of the Handle class. Instead, what the book has is Sales_item(): h() { }. My gut reaction is that this is a typo, since h() looks suspiciously similar to a function declaration. On the other hand, I just tried compiling under g++ and running the example code that uses this class and it seems to be working correctly. Any thoughts?

  • Command or tool to display list of connections to a Windows file share

    Is there a Windows command or tool that can tell me what users or computers are connected to a Windows fileshare? Here's why I'm looking for this: I've run into issues in the past where our deployment team has deployed BizTalk applications to one of our environments using the wrong bindings, leaving us with two receive locations pointing to the same file share (i.e. both dev and test servers point to dev receive location uri). When this occurs, the two environments in question tend to take turns processing the files received (meaning if I am attempting to debug something in one environment and the other environment has picked the file up, it looks as if my test file has disappeared into thin air). We have several different environments, plus individual developer machines, and I'd rather not have to check each individually to find the culprit. I'm looking for a quick way to detect what locations are connected to the share once I notice my test files vanishing. If I can determine the connections that are invalid, I can go directly to the person responsible for that environment and avoid the time it takes to randomly ask around. Or if the connections appear to be correct, I can go directly to troubleshooting where in the process the message gets lost. Any suggestions?

I don't know what framework is responsible for this and thus I have no clue what to search for. Is there a more optimal solution that can traverse the accounts?

  • My list item's child label elements disappear in IE on accordion menu opening

    I've got an app that's working pretty flawlessly in Chrome and FF, however, when I view it in IE, all is well until I click on a header element to activate it (jQuery accordion). What happens then is that I see a brief flash where the content is there, then suddenly the entire left column disappears. This column is generated by a floated label element with a class of ".left" as seen below... <ul class="menu collapsible"> <li class='expand sectionTitle'><a href='#'>General Settings</a> <ul class='acitem'> <li class="section"> <label class="left">This item if floated left with a defined width of 190px via css. This is the item that's disappearing after a brief display</label> <input class="input" value="input element here" /> <label class="description">This element has a margin-left:212px; set via css in order to be positioned to the right of the label element as if in an adjacent table cell. When I add a max-width property to this element, it disappears in IE too!</label> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> As you can see from the comments in the code above (for the two label elements) the description label disappears once I set a max-width on it (I don't have a max-width on the left label element, but it disappears nonetheless). The initial view of this UL menu is fine (note the expand class declaration which makes this part of the accordion open at startup. Its not until I click the "General Settings" to toggle it closed, then back open, that the left class elements disappear (and only in IE)

    Okay I got this function who prints the name of all files in a directory recursively problem is that it's very slow and it gets the stuff from a network device and with my current code it has to access the device time after time. What I would want is to first load all the files from the directory recursively and then after that go through all files with the regex to filter out all the files I don't want. Unless anyone got a better suggestion. I've never before done anything like this. public static printFnames(String sDir){  File[] faFiles = new File(sDir).listFiles();  for(File file: faFiles){ if(file.getName().matches("^(.*?)")){   System.out.println(file.getAbsolutePath()); }   if(file.isDirectory()){     printFnames(file.getAbsolutePath());   }  } } This is just a test later on I'm not going to use the code like this, instead I'm going to add the path and modification date of every file which matches an advanced regex to an array.

    I was thinking of writing a function to normalize some data. A simple approach is def normalize(l, aggregate=sum, norm_by=operator.truediv): aggregated=aggregate(l) for i in range(len(l)): l[i]=norm_by(l[i], aggregated) l=[1,2,3,4] normalize(l) l -> [0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4] However for nested lists and dicts where I want to normalize over an inner index this doesnt work. I mean I'd like to get l=[[1,100],[2,100],[3,100],[4,100]] normalize(l, ?? ) l -> [[0.1,100],[0.2,100],[0.3,100],[0.4,100]] Any ideas how I could implement such a normalize function? Maybe it would be crazy cool to write normalize(l[...][0]) Is it possible to make this work?? Or any other ideas? Also not only lists but also dict could be nested. Hmm... EDIT: I just found out that numpy offers such a syntax (for lists however). Anyone know how I would implement the ellipsis trick myself?

    Hi all, I have a sql query which is executing a LEFT JOIN on 2 tables in which some of the columns are ambiguous. I can prefix the joined tables but when I try to prefix one of the columns from the table in the FROM clause, it tells me Unknown column. I even tried giving that table an alias like so ...From points AS p and using "p" to prefix the tables but that didn't work either. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.   • Absolute positioning error in IE6 with dropdown list

    I have a div, that I'm using JavaScript to position, so that when someone hovers over an image, it displays a tooltip message that follows along with the pointer. (Using tooltip-0.2.js ) The problem is that when a user goes to the page in IE6, a disabled dropdown box on the page is showing through this absolutely positioned tooltip when it tries to hover over it. How can I get this dropdownlist to know its proper place? ;)
