  • replica set with multiple primary nodes

    I am trying to configure a replica set with three nodes: node A, B and C. I execute the rs.add()'s from node A and after that rs.status() shows that the three nodes are PRIMARY. Moreover node B and C have 0 pingMs. If I execute rs.status() from node B or C the only node listed is the self (As PRIMARY). I tried adding an arbiter but it didn't work (it behaved as the nodes B and C). I think this can be a networking problem but I can't figure it out.   • Tomcat and IIS6 on one server, multiple websites

    Windows Server 2003 with IIS6 and Tomcat 6.0.26. Three sites running on this server. One is PHP, one is ASP and the third uses Tomcat. The first two work flawlessly. The third is being a pain. Tomcat is installed and if called on the server itself by IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 shows the welcome page. Calling the same address from an external machine gives a 'could not connect' error. Calling the ip address from within the server on standard port 80 gives me an error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE). Have tried using httpcfg to force listening only on ports within the ip range I'm using in a manner similar to question 35650 located here on serverfault but with no success. There are actually ten ip addresses on this machine but I'm only using three of them at this point. Any pointers on troubleshooting this would be appreciated!

    I have a small server with a single NIC that I am trying to get a bridge functioning on so that I can run KVM. On this NIC I have a couple IPs statically assigned to it: eth0 = 192.168.1.1 eth0:1 = 192.168.1.2 eth0:2 = 192.168.1.3 eth0:3 -> Assign the bridge to this I am attempting to set up a bridge using the following instructions: sudo brctl addbr br0 sudo brctl addif br0 eth0:3 sudo ifconfig br0 192.168.1.120 netmask 255.255.255.0 up sudo route add -net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 br0 sudo route add default gw 192.168.1.1 br0 sudo tunctl -b -u root -t tap0 > /dev/null sudo ifconfig tap0 up sudo brctl addif br0 tap0 However, when I do the second command: sudo brctl addif br0 eth0:3 It puts the ENTIRE eth0 device into promiscuous mode. This knocks the server offline and inaccessible by anything other than locally. Is there a way to bridge JUST eth0:3 to br0 and not put the entire device into promiscuous mode?

  • Bind a users role to dropdown?

    Hi... I'm trying to bind a selected user's role to a dropdown-list. The purpose of this is to be able to change said user's role. I'm attempting this inside a formview hooked up to a linqdatasource which contains a row from the aspnet_User table. The dropdown list is hooked up to a linqdatasource of all the roles in the aspnet_Roles table (with DataValueField="RoleID", DataTextField="RoleName"). I figured it would be possible with something like: SelectedValue='<%# Bind("aspnet_UsersInRole[0].aspnet_Role.RoleID") %>' But this throws a parser exception, about the bind call not being correctly formatted. The roles are there, they show up when I remove the "SelectedValue" Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Amazon RDS Pros/Cons of Multiple DBs per instance

    I run two completely independent websites. I am moving their MySQL databases to Amazon RDS. I'm not going to do Multi A/Z deployment - let's remove that variable from this question. I'm not sure whether to create a single RDS instance with two databases, or two Amazon RDS instances with a single database. Ignore cost for the sake of this question. I will not hit the 1 TB data limit so let's ignore that. However, it is extremely important that crashing one of the websites doesn't impact the other. Based on this document - http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/Concepts.DBInstance.html I'm assuming that if I write terrible code that crashes one of the databases in a given RDS instance, it could possibly take down the entire RDS instance (and thus inadvertantly affect the other database).     I have 5 webservers behind Load balancer and we have a client server at other end. Client has white listed my 5 webserver public ip so that my webservers will post a file to the client server. Here the problem is my webservers is going to increase and i cannot always ask client to make my new webserver ip's white list. So i would like to make my infra this way, my webservers will post data to the client server routing from a single server. Like assume that web-1 is main server and the remaining 4 web servers will post data to client server routing through main web-1. I was told that this can be achieved by doing IP Tunneling. But i have no idea how to do that. Would be great for any kind of help.

  • Multiple PXE server same subnet

    I've been struggling with this for some time. I have a few test machines that boot from the network, they receive the boot data from the DHCP server, this tells them who is the boot server where is the file they'll boot etc. However, I need to add a second PXE server in the same subnet (create another Vlan is not an option right now). I read somewhere that I may be able to send certain parameters to certain machines based on their MAC address (this way choosing what computers boot from what server) however I cannot find how to do this, anyone knows how? this will be my solution but I cannot find the answer. My DHCP is a windows server 2003 I have 2 servers running custom flavors of Linux server as TFTP servers. Some machines use data to boot from server 1, and the others must bu able to boot from server 2. Thx

  • What is the correct configuration for multiple apache2 vhosts and multiple php5-fpm pools?

    I have a group of sites (group A) which I would like to run using one php5-fpm pool and a second group of sites (group B) which I would like to run using a second php5-fpm pool. I can effectively define/create the pool in the fpm.conf file and I confirmed that it is running with the different user/group I've defined. However I am unclear as to how to setup the apache virtual host config. I've tried a few apache2 configurations but I seem to not be able to add the second pool. If you've done this please help.

  • Multiple apps in one "icon" on the iPod touch [closed]

    I have researched but can't find any discussion about moving several apps into one "icon" on the iPod touch screen. I have moved 5 apps (all the same category) into one what is normally one app icon. The title on the icon reads "games" - all are games. I have all the apps jiggling and drag one game app on top of another game app - They move to be side by side and the title automatically reads "games" - is this "OK" to do - you can have nine apps in each of the 16 spaces available on each screen. Will this hurt the touch? As long as you have space (GBs) is this ok? Has anyone done or heard of this? Any help is appriecated.

    I have a Mac (OS X 10.5) that I would like to connect to a dedicated/isolated Internet connection (one that is not connected to the LAN), and a LAN. The LAN is set up with its own, separate, Internet connection which is shared by several dozen computers (and is quite slow). I want to set it up so that the Mac uses its own dedicated Internet connection (on a different account with a different company) for its Internet access, but can still access the local area network as well. I have googled around and found a thing called the custom HttpHandler for WSS 3.0. It sounded like something that I can use to capture the URL the user enters (the most malicious way to get to a page that should really be redirected) and redirect them to another page/web.     If you're a Firefox user you know that if you have 10 tabs open and say you're in the tab #5. If you open a new tab which will become #11 in order and search something, after you finish and close this #11 tab Firefox will direct you the the last active tab you were in which is #5. Using Vimperator You won't get the similar effect. In the same scenario, while you're in tab #5 you can go t and search for something which will lead to opening a tab at #11. Now you press d and where you are now ? #10 and you need to ctrl+p all the way back to #5. So in this case I am looking for one of these solutions. to be able to open a tab straight after the current tab (which closing it will capital D will put me back to my active tab) a way to close a tab and being brought back to the last active tab that I worked on. Will appreciate it if somebody got a solution for this. thanks
