  Greetings all, I need help combining some htaccess rewrites, these crazy regular expressions screw with my head. So I have a folder structure something like this: /www/mysite.com/page/member/friends.php /www/mysite.com/page/video/videos.php /www/mysite.com/page/messages/inbox.php The URLs get rewritten to this: mysite.com/member/friends.php mysite.com/video/videos.php mysite.com/messages/inbox.php (Notice the /page/ folder is hidden in the url, but I keep it on the server for better file organization) The rewrite rules look something like this: (I'm new so correct me if they are flawed) RewriteRule ^video/(.*)$ /page/video/$1 [NC] RewriteRule ^member/(.*)$ /page/member/$1 [NC] RewriteRule ^messages/(.*)$ /page/messages/$1 [NC] Now, I also need to do a completely different rewrite to a file called lobby.php inside of the member folder: After the original rewrites, a sample url looks like: mysite.com/member/lobby.php?member=pws5068 I need a new rewrite to make it look like this: mysite.com/pws5068 Thank you for bearing with my super-long question here. How can I make this happen?

  My htaccess redirect knowledge is somewhat weak, so I was hoping to get some help here. I currently have the following redirect, which works well: # remove trailing slash RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ /$1 [L,R=301] # redirect to clean URL RewriteCond /%{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-\s]+)$ /$1.php This takes a URL like www.mysite.com/about to www.mysite.com/about.php Now I would like to keep this behavior, but add parameters (if applicable), as such: www.mysite.com/about = www.mysite.com/about.php www.mysite.com/gallery/1 = www.mysite.com/gallery.php?id=1 If possible, I might like to expand this system to 2 or more parameters, as such: www.mysite.com/gallery/1/2 = www.mysite.com/gallery.php?id=1&section=2 So the pattern would be: First URL segment redirects to a PHP file (Optionally) the second segment gets added as the id parameter (Optionally) the third segment gets added as the section parameter

I want visitor that visit a.com will be referred to url with www (http://www.a.com). As for the visitor of http://b.com will be referred to the www url (http://www.b.com).   Hi guys, i have a problem with a simple apache configuration. When the user ask for https://mydomain.com i have to redirect it to https://www.mydomain.com, becose my https certificate is valid just for the domain with www. I create the vhost.conf into my /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/conf/ directory, with inside: <Directory /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpsdocs> AllowOverride All </Directory> And my .htaccess file into the /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpsdocs/ is: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTPS_HOST} ^mydomain\.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] But seem like the .htaccess is completely ignored. Any idea?

  I have a website, call it http://sub.example.com, hosted on, say, 72.xx.xx.x. There is a certificate for https://sub.example.com. Now I go into the DNS management tool in my hosting provider, and I set up the standard subdomain forwarding wherein https://sub.example.com forwards to 72.xx.xx.x. Now when I try to browse to https://sub.example.com, I get a certificate error saying it is for the wrong website. I have also tried forwarding http://sub.example.com to 72.xx.xx.x, and tried it with domain masking in both cases. I am still getting the certificate error no matter what. Additional wrinkle: if someone types in https://sub.example.com then the domain forwarding does not seem to work and IE just spins endlesssly and finally fails. How can I domain forward the https://sub.example.com to 72.xx.xx.x?

  Hello, What i'm trying to achieve here is lets say we have two example urls: url1 "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa//////////" & url2 = "http://www.example.com/". How can I extract the striped down urls? url1 : "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa" & url2 to "http://http://www.example.com"? URI.parse in ruby sanitizes certain type of malformed url but is ineffective in this case. If we use regex then /^(.*)\/$/ removes a single slash (/) from url1 & is ineffective for url2. Is anybody aware of how to handle this type of url parsing? The point here is I dont want my system to have "http://www.example.com/" & "http://www.example.com" being treated as two different urls. And same goes for "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa////" & "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa/" cheers, -dg

  I am using JavaMail to connect to a POP3 server. Further, I set the following properties, so that JavaMail won't wait to long if an email server doesn't respond: props.setProperty("mail.pop3.connectionpooltimeout", "3000"); props.setProperty("mail.pop3.connectiontimeout", "3000"); props.setProperty("mail.pop3.timeout", "3000"); However, in some cases the timeout works properly but sometimes JavaMail freezes for minutes(!) with the following debug message: DEBUG POP3: connecting to host "pop3.yahoo.com", port 110, isSSL false Changing ports or protocols (SSL, TLS..) has no effect. I assume that the host simply doesn't exist. For example, if I poll pop3.yahoo.com instead of pop.mail.yahoo.com (which would be the right host name), I have to wait very long til a timeout exception occurs. After several minutes, I get the following exception and the application continues to run: java.net.ConnectException: Operation timed out pop3.yahoo.com seems to exist but won't respond: localhost:~ me$ ping pop3.yahoo.com PING pop3.yahoo.com (206.190.46.10): 56 data bytes Request timeout for icmp_seq 0 Request timeout for icmp_seq 1 Request timeout for icmp_seq 2 Request timeout for icmp_seq 3 ^C You might be asking why I use pop3.yahoo.com instead of pop.mail.yahoo.com. Well, I simply wanted to test what happens if the user of my application inserts a wrong host name.   Hello, I am using djano-cms for my site, but instead of language alias /en/ /de/ I need to use another domain. I would like to avoid running multiple django instances, and instead I would like to use lighttpd redirects if possible. I would like requests coming to domain2.com getting data from domain.com/en . The best would be if the user entering: domain2.com/offer got transparently data from domain.com/en/offer Tried many solutions with url.redirect, url.rewrite but none seems to work as desired. Also tried with: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/261904/matching-domains-with-regex-for-lighttpd-mod-evhost-www-domain-com-domain-com but that didn't work. Please help.   I'm having troubles using SSL for 2 different websites on my IIS 7 server. Please see my setup below: website1: my.corporate.portal.com SSL certificate for website1: *.corporate.portal.com https/443 binded to my.corporate.portal.com website2: client.portal.com SSL certificate issued for: client.portal.com When I try to bind https in IIS7 with the client's certificate, I don't have an option to put host name(grayed out) and as soon as I select 'client.portal.com' cert, I'm getting the following error in IIS: At least one other site is using the same HTTPS binding and the binding is configured with a different certificate. Are you sure that you want to reuse this HTTPS binding and reassign the other site or sites to use the new certificate? If I click 'yes' my.corporate.portal.com website stops using the proper SSL cert. Could you suggest something?

I use mail.domain.com as reverse-DNS, POP3 and SMTP clients use mail.domain.com (some use pop3.domain.com and smtp.domain.com) for sending and receiving e-mails. The SSL-Submission asks me for a domain - is it mail.domain.com or domain.com as I do not have a Wildcard-SSL? I just want to use it for Mail.   Here's what I've got: siteA.com and siteB.com are hosted on hostgator. They're hosted on the same account of a shared hosting server (not VPS or dedicated). script.php is an external site that each of these 2 sites are accessing. I noticed that when siteA.com or siteB.com access the outside script.php, the script identifies them both as 1a.12.12ab.static.theplanet.com (apparently because hostgator uses theplanet.com servers). The fact that they're identified as the same value isn't surprising because after all they're hosted on the same account /home/user123/public_html. What I'm wondering about is how about other websites that are hosted on the same shared hosting server, but under other accounts. Basically other websites that are under another developer's control, but just happen to share the same hardware (hosting server). Do they also have the exact same identifier 1a.12.12ab.static.theplanet.com or that changes by account?

  Suppose that I am creating a Java project with the following classes com.bharani.ClassOne com.bharani.ClassTwo com.bharani.helper.HelperOne com.bharani.helper.support.HelperTwo with files put immediately under the folder 'src' src/ClassOne.java src/ClassTwo.java src/HelperOne.java src/HelperTwo.java and compile them using the command $ javac src/*.java -d classes (assuming that classes directory exists) The compiler compiles these files and put the class files in appropriate sub-directories inside the 'classes' directory like this classes/com/bharani/ClassOne.class classes/com/bharani/ClassTwo.class classes/com/bharani/helper/HelperOne.class classes/com/bharani/helper/support/HelperTwo.class Because the spec mandates that the classes should go inside appropriate directory structure. Fine. My question is this: When I use an IDE such as Eclipse or NetBeans, they create the directory structure for the source code directory ('src' directory here) also. Why is that? Is it mandatory? Or, is it just a convention? Thanks.

  I want to forward my root domain(yourdomain.com) to www.yourdomain.com Should I delete the A record of the root domain and then setup 301 permanent forwarding to www.yourdomain.com? I am hosting my app on heroku. So I don't really have an IP address to setup an A record. The thing is I first deleted the A record of my root domain and then forwarded it. I pinged it and here is the result - ping yourdomain.com ping: cannot resolve yourdomain.com: Unknown host Update and some more information - I am hosting a static website. And managing the DNS on cloudflare.com I added an A record for yourdomain.com - 184.168.221.51 Just an random IP.

• curl cookie problem in PHP

  hi as my client needs, I developed a code to login via cURl. login to www.web1.com and store cookies in cookie.txt go to www.web2.com and browse a page using that cookie.txt no problem with www.web2.com so when i want to do this with www.web3.com, the problem appears. the www.web3.com uses session and cookies itself and I have to gather and use them. it means I should have tow series of cookies, first those from www.web1.com , and second those from www.web3.com , then request the www.web3.com/somepage how I can do that?

• Have main website hosted on 3rd party while keeping Google Sites for Users

  Hi, I want a third party hosting my main site with PHP, MySQL, etc... I don't know which DNS records to modify. Is it possible to have the following mappings: www.example.com = 3rd party hosting blog.example.com = other 3rd party hosting mail.example.com = Google Mail docs.example.com = Google Docs sites.example.com = Google Sites sites.example.com/internal-site = Google Sites internal site ... Right now in TotalDNS, I have www = ghs.google.com. If I modify only this record to point to the IP provided by the 3rd party hosting, is it going to work ? Do I also need to add NameServers, remove the ones Google added ? Thx for the help
