• Facebook Like Button for a Facebook video

  Today, i created an iframe-Tab on our Facebook Page as a landingpage. On this tab we display a video, implemented from Facebook. • MSForms.ListBox Type Mismatch in Access

  I have an Access database where I use a Tab control (without tabs) to simulate a wizard. One of the tab pages has an MSForms.ListBox control called lstPorts, and a button named cmdAdd which adds the contents of a textbox to the List Box. I then try to keep the contents of the ListBox sorted. However, the call to the Sort method causes a type mismatch. • jQuery arrays - newbie needs a kick start

  I've only really started using this site and alredy I am very impressed by the community here! This is my third question in less than three days. Hopefully I'll be able to start answering questions soon instead of just asking them! I'm fairly new to jQuery and can't find a decent tutorial on Arrays. I'd like to be able to create an array that targets several ID's on my page and performs the same effect for each. For example I have tabs set up with the following: $('.tabs div.tab').hide(); $('.tabs div:first').show(); $('.tabs ul li:first a').addClass('current'); $('.tabs ul li a').click(function(){ $('.tabs ul li a').removeClass('current'); $(this).addClass('current'); var currentTab = $(this).attr('href'); $('.tabs div.tab').hide(); $(currentTab).show(); return false; }); I've used the class .tag to target the tabs as there are several sets on the same page, but I've heard jQuery works much faster when targetting ID's How would I add an array to the above code to target 4 different ID's? I've looked at var myArray = new Array('#id1', 'id2', 'id3', 'id4'); And also var myValues = [ '#id1', 'id2', 'id3', 'id4' ]; Which is correct and how do I then use the array in the code for my tabs...?

• Cannot use Java 7 instalation if Java 8 is installed

  I normally still use Java 7 for all my coding projects (it's a company "politics" issue), but I installed Java 8 for one third-party project I am contributing to. Now, it seems I cannot have Java 8 installed in Windows 7 x64, and still use Java 7 by default: C:\>"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe" -version java version "1.7.0_55" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_55-b13) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.55-b03, mixed mode) C:\>java.exe -version java version "1.8.0_05" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_05-b13) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.5-b02, mixed mode) As you can see, JAVA_HOME is completely ignored. I also have Java in the path, using "%JAVA_HOME%\bin", which resolve correctly to Java 7 when I check the path in a DOS box, but it still makes no difference. I checked in the "Java Control Panel" (not sure if this affects the default command-line Java version). Under the "Java" tab, the "View..." button, you get to see "registered" Java versions. I can add all the versions under the "User" tab, but under "System" there is only Java 8, and no way to change it. Am I missing something, or did Oracle just make it impossible to use Java 7, unless I de-install Java 8? I don't want to have to specify the "source" and "target" everywhere, and I don't even know if it is possible for me to specify it everywhere, where Java is used. EDIT: What I did is I de-installed all Java. Then installed the latest Java7 (both 86 and x64), and then the latest Java8 (both 86 and x64). After I did that, I noticed that the x64 JDK was gone. It seems Java8 killed it. So I re-installed the JDK 7 x64, after the JDK 8 x64. Still, JDK7 x64 did not seem to "replace" the "java.exe" which is copied into the "Windows" directory itself (I assume THAT is the problem).

• Textmate, open file at Caret

  I bet this is really obvious but I can't find how to open the linked file that the Caret is currently on in Textmate. For example in the likes of Dreamweaver you can click in the index.html portion of <a href"index.html" hit cmd-D and it opens this file in a new tab. Is this possible? Would also be good to do this with <img src="image.jpg" to open the file directly into Photoshop. Solved! Solution for Patrick below. I used a modified version of Daustin777's example above to create a Command called OpenatCaret. The command is: open "$TM_PROJECT_DIRECTORY"/"$TM_SELECTED_TEXT" I then extended this by installing a macro which allowed you to select a path between double quotes but not including the quotes. I got this from the macromates board here. http://lists.macromates.com/textmate/2009-June/028965.html To wrap them both together I put my cursor in a path and recorded a new macro where I run the "Select within double quotes" macro and then the OpenatCaret command. I then named this OpenProjectFileAtCaret and bound this macro to cmd-D. Works a treat and is used all the time. Just make sure you have the correct default apps setup for each file type you are opening eg. Textmate for php, asp, html and it will open them in a new tab.

• Jquery Dialog - Is there a way to open it without registering it using .dialog?

  This is my problem. I have a page with multiple tabs. I load those tabs dynamically and one of those tabs is a message container (mail). Every time I click a folder link (Inbox, Sent Mail etc) I reload just that tab alone with appropriate content. I use Jquery dialog to pick contacts and I have to load contacts everytime. Since I reload the whole tab content every time JQuery Dialog registers (or creates) the whole div content. • IE7 & 8 not fireing jQuery click events for elements appended inside a table

  I have an IE bug that I'm not sure how to fix. Using jQuery I'm dynamically moving a menu to appear on an element on mouseover. My code (simplified) looks something like this: $j = jQuery.noConflict(); $j(document).ready(function() { //do something on the menu clicks $j('div.ico').click(function() { alert($j(this).parent().html()); }); setUpActions('#tableId', '#menuId'); }); //on mouseover set up the actions menu to appear on mouseover function setUpActions(tableSelector, menuSelector) { $j(tableSelector + ' div.test').mouseover(function() { //note that append will move the underlying //DOM element with all events from it's old //parent to the end of this one. $j(this).append($j(menuSelector).show()); }); } This menu doesn't seem to register events correctly for the menu after it's been moved in IE7, IE8 and IE8-as-IE7 (yeah MS, that's really a 'new rendering engine' in IE8, we all believe you). It works as expected in everything else. You can see the behaviour in a basic demo here. In the demo you can see two examples of the issue: The image behind the buttons should change on hover (done with a CSS :hover selector). It works on the first mouseover but then persists. The click event doesn’t fire – however with the dev tools you can manually call it and it is still subscribed. You can see (2) in IE8's dev tools: Open page in IE8 Open dev tools Select "Script" tab and "Console" sub-tab Type: $j('#testFloat div.ico:first').click() to manually call any subscribed events There will be an alert on the page This means that I'm not losing the event subscriptions, they're still there, IE's just not calling them when I click. Does anyone know why this bug occurs (other than just because of IE's venerable engine)? Is there a workaround? Could it be something that I'm doing wrong that just happens to work as expected in everything else?

• Why does my DIV clip its child DIV when jQuery moves it in IE?

  I have two divs, both with position:absolute;, one inside the other. The parent isn't in a place where it can be set as position:relative without an extra layer of complexity (there are a lot of other elements around it that I'd have to account for to put it where it needs to be, which is at the very top of the page, over everything). The child element is made to stick off the bottom of the parent. In Chrome, Safari, Firefox, it all works splendidly. In IE, it works until jQuery moves the parent element - at which point the parent element clips the child, so you can barely see the top of the child. I feel like I've read about this, about IE clipping child elements, but I can't seem to find an answer that applies to my case. • Setting UITabBarItem title from UINavigationController?

  I have setup a UITabBarController with two tabs, one is a simple UIViewController and the other is a UINavigationController using second UIViewController as its rootController to set up a UITableView. My question is with regard to naming the tabs (i.e. UITabBarItem) For the first tab (simple UIViewController) I have added the following (see below) to the controllers -init method. - (id)init { self = [super init]; if(self) { UITabBarItem *tabBarItem = [self tabBarItem]; [tabBarItem setTitle:@"ONE"]; } return self; } For the other tab I have added (see below) to the second controllers init (rootController). - (id)init { self = [super init]; if(self) { UITabBarItem *tabBarItem = [[self navigationController] tabBarItem]; [tabBarItem setTitle:@"TWO"]; } return self; } Am I setting the second tabBarItem title in the right place as currently it is not showing? • Can I share code & resources between Android projects without using a library?

  The standard advice for sharing code & resources between Android projects is to use a library. Personally I find this works poorly if (a) the shared code changes a lot, or (b) your computer isn't fast enough. I also don't want to get into deploying multiple APK's, which seems to be necessary when I use dependent projects (i.e. Java Build Path, Projects Tab). On the other hand, sharing a folder of source code by using the Eclipse linked source feature works great (Java Build Path, Source tab, Link Source button), but for these two issues: 1) I can't use the same technique to share resources. I can create the link to the resources parent folder but then things get wonky and the shared resources don't get compiled (I'm using ADT 21). 2) So then I settle for copying the shared resources into each project, but this doesn't work because either. The shared code can't import the copy of its resources because it doesn't know the package name of the project that uses it. The solution I've been using is to access the resources dynamically, but that has become cumbersome as the number of resources grows. So, I need a solution to either (1) or (2), or I'll have to go back to a library project. (Or maybe there is another option I haven't thought of?)

• Evaluating creation of GUI via file vs coding

  I'm working on a utility that will be used to test the project I'm currently working on. What the utility will do is allow user to provide various inputs and it will sends out requests and provide the response as output. However, at this point the exact format (which input is required and what is optional) has yet to be fleshed out. In addition, coding in Swing is somewhat repetitive since the overall work is simple though this should be the safest route to go as I have more or less full control and every component can be tweaked as I want. I'm considering using a configuration file that's in XML to describe the GUI (at least one part of it) and then coding the event handling part (in addition to validation, etc). The GUI itself shouldn't be too complicated. For each type of request to make there's a tab for the request and within each tab are various inputs. There seems to be quite a few questions about this already but I'm not asking for a 3rd party library to do this. I'm looking to do this myself, since I don't think it'll be too overly complicated (hopefully). My main consideration for using this is re-usability (later on, for other projects) and for simplifying the GUI work. My question is: are there other pros/cons that I'm overlooking? Is it worth the (unknown) time to do this? I've built GUI in VB.NET and with Flex3 before.

• Programmatically Update UITableView in Response to Button Press

  I have a completely custom view that holds a UITableView and a Custom Tab Bar (basically a UIView that contains 6 UIButtons). I am loading data from a plist file, and then I am sorting the data into multiple arrays based on categories (an array for misc items, and array for mail items, etc.) Each button in the tab bar represents a category, and when I press the button I call the custom function "miscSelected" and so on. How can I have the table view completely reload and then display the tableview based on the array selected (select the misc category and the tableview clears itself and loads the misc array data, same for any other category)? The method I have experimented with is created and NSString named "selection" and then in each button function I set selected to equal whatever section I am selecting. In my cellForRoxAtIndexPath method I have this: if ([self.selection isEqualToString:@"All Items"]) { NSArray *mainDataArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:self.plistFile]; NSSortDescriptor *brandDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"name" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [NSArray arrayWithObject:brandDescriptor]; self.sortedData = [mainDataArray sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; } else if ([self.selection isEqualToString:@"Misc Items"]){ self.sortedData = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:self.plistFile]; } cell.itemTitle.text = [[self.sortedData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] objectForKey:@"name"]; For the sake of example and testing I am simply displaying the same data, just one button displays it in alphabetical order and the other does not. This code works only when I start to scroll down and back up, but it does not actually update on button press. Calling myTable reloadData does not do anything either. • Set JTabbedPane width to constant

  I'm implementing an UI in Java Swing. Therefore I use a JTabbedPane. The tabbedPane has no components at startup. When i add a tab to the tabbedpane, the width of the tabbedpane increases, when i remove the tab, the width resizes to the width at the startup. This should not happen. The tabbedpane is placed on a JPanel which has a gridbag layout. • Most efficient way to make an activity log

  I am making a "recent activity" tab to profiles on my site and I also am going to have a log for moderators to see everything that happens on the site. This would require making an activity log of some sort. I just don't know what would be better. I have 2 options: Make a table called "activity" and then every time someone does something, add a record to it with the type of action, user id, timestamp, etc. Problem: table could get very long. Join all 3 tables (questions, answers, answer_comments) and then somehow show all these on the page in the order in which the action was taken. Problem: this would be extremely hard because I have no clue how I could make it say "John commented on an answer on Question Title Here" by just joining 3 tables. Does anyone know of a better way of making an activity log in this situation? I am using PHP and MySQL. If this is either too inefficient or hard I will probably just forget the Recent Activity tab on profiles but I still need an activity log for moderators. • Frame sizing of tableview within nested child controllers/subviews

  I'm a bit confused by the proper frame sizing of a table view to fit within my screen. Here's my setup of view controllers within view controllers: UITabBarController UINavigationController as one of the tab bar viewcontrollers; title bar hidden ViewController - a container view controller because I need the option to place some controls beneath the UITableView, sometimes (but not in the current scenario) UITableViewController Now, my question is what the proper frame dimensions of the UITableview should be. Here's what I've got in the ViewController viewDidLoad method. I used subtracted 49.0 (the size of the tab bar) from 480.0. However, this leaves a black bar at the bottom. 20.0 appears to do it (coincidentally?) the size of the status bar, but I don't understand why that would be. • Trying to join two independent forms

  Hi, i'm trying to join two independent forms (login and register) in the same page. If i execute LoginAndRegister and submit incorrectly the signin form and open another browser tab, i will find the submiting error messages in the signin form of the second tab... Any idea? any better approach?

• My HTML5 web app crashes and I have no clue how to debug

  Hi All, I have written a word game using HTML5 canvas tag and a little bit of audio. I developed the application on the chrome web browser on a linux system. Recently during the testing phase it was tried on safari 5.0.3 on Mac and the webpage froze. Not just the canvas element, but interactive element on the page froze. I have at some times experienced this problem on google chrome when I was developing but since the console did not throw any error before this happened, I did not give it much credence. Now as per requirements I am supposed to support both chrome and safari but this dismal performance on safari has left me shocked and I cannot see what error can be thrown which might lead to such a situation. Worse yet the CPU usage on using this application peaks to 70-80percent on my 2yr old macbook running ubuntu... I can only but pity the person who uses mac to operate this app, which undoubtedly is a heavier OS. Could someone help me out with a place I can start with to find out what exactly is causing this issue. I have run profiles on this webapp on google chromes console and noticed that in the heap spanshot value increases steadily with the playing of the game, specifically (root) value which jumps up by 900 counts. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks EDIT: I don't know if this helps, but I have noticed that even on refreshing the page after the app becomes unresponsive the page reloads and I am still not able to interact with the page elements but the tab scroll bar continues to work and I can see my application window completely. So to summaries the tab stops accepting any sort of user interaction inside the page. Edit2: Nop. It doesn't work still... The app crashes on double click on the canvas element. The console is not throwing any errors either! =/ I have noticed this problem is isolated only to safari!

• Which Android hardware devices should I test on? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: What hardware devices do you test your Android apps on? I'm trying to compile a list of Android hardware devices that it would make sense to buy and test against if you want to target an as broad audience as possible, while still not buying every single Android device out there. I know there's a lot of information regarding screen sizes and Android versions available elsewhere, but: when developing for Android it's not terribly useful to know if the screen size of a device is 480x800 or 320x240, unless you feel like doing the math to convert that into Android "units" (i.e. small, normal, large or xlarge screens, and ldpi, mdpi, hdpi or xhdpi densities). Even knowing the dimensions of a device, you cannot be sure of the actual Android units as there's some overlap, see Range of screens supported in the Android documentation Taking into account the distribution of Platform versions and Screen Sizes and Densities, below is my current list based on information from the Wikipedia article on Comparison of Android devices. I'm fairly sure the information in this list is correct, but I'd welcome any suggestions/changes.   I have this code below. I randomly ran across that it will work if I have that alert message exactly where it is. If I take it out or move it to any other spot the tabs will not appear. What exactly is that alert doing that allows the code to work and how can I make it work without the alert?   I am having totally 20 links.First 10 links directly visible to user and remaining 10 links shown when user hover the down arrow image(used for hover). When user click any one hover link, the link till the currently clicked are moved to left side(another down arrow used for add the right side links to left side dynamically by creating li). This one working fine.But this is not working as vice versa. (i.e)When i click left side link it should navigate to right side.Click event not working for li element that i created dynamically.
