  • How to display recently view items in iphone

    - by Pugal Devan
Hi friends, I have created tab bar and have three views. Tab-1 --> table view and it navigates to detail table view. Tab-2 --> map view. Tab-3 --> table view.(Recent view for Tab-1 items). Now i have displayed the names in the table view in tab-1. The names are changed dynamically and displayed using XML parsing. In tab-3 is the recent view. Now i want to display the details in recent view those who visit recently in tab-1 view. I want to display only 10 items in the recent view. So i have used NSMutableArray and i have set deleagtes due to get the items in recent view from tab-1 view. How to avoid the duplicate recent items and how to remove the older items and inserts the new recent items in recent view. Here my sample code, In Recent view class, stories = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:10]; items = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; NSString *preferName = [devDelegate getCurrentAuthor]; //(get name dynamically) [items setObject:preferName forKey:@"preferName"]; [stories addObject:[items copy]]; cell.textLabel.text = [[stories objectAtIndex:storyIndex] objectForKey:@"preferName"]; So please guide me to how to achieve this. Thanks.

  • Android - getting data from a server

    - by jonhobbs
I've read lots about using local storage for android but how would I connect to an SQL database online to send and get data? For example, if I was making a game and wanted to create a worldwide high score table, how would I store that online and make sure it was only available to that app? Thanks, Jon

  • Android as SIP to GSM gateway

    - by user346034
Soon I could use a SIP to GSM gateway, because I'll need to make phone calls from Germany to a mobile phone in Czech Republik. Hence, I thought about implementing one. Now, the questions are: Does such a solution already exist (for a reasonable price)? Is it possible to redirect a (voice) stream to a GSM connection with the available Android APIs (SDK or NDK)? Ideas, suggestions, comments are highly welcome.

  • Can't Get ANT build to work in eclipse

    - by Travis
Long story short: I want to add the --core-library flag at compile time to include a library that depends on some javax libraries that aren't included in the android platform. I have attempted the walkthrough here: http://commons.apache.org/scxml/usecases/scxml-stopwatch-on-android.html but nothing ever changed on the emulator. I don't think I can repackage the libraries I'm after because I cannot amend the callers to call the new packages without violating a license agreement. Please, someone, point me in the right direction.

  • Style first 2 TextViews in Android ListView differently

    - by Kurtis Nusbaum
I have a ListView and I want the first two entries in it to be displayed differently than the rest. Nothing fancy, I want them all to just be text views. But the first two entries need to have different sizes and weights than the rest. I tried modifying the ArrayAdapter class like so: private class BusStopAdapter<T> extends ArrayAdapter<T>{ public BusStopAdapter( Context context, int textViewResourceId, List<T> objects) { super(context, textViewResourceId, objects); } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { TextView toReturn = (TextView)super.getView(position, convertView, parent); if(position == 0){ toReturn.setTextSize(12); toReturn.setText("Previous Bus: " + toReturn.getText()); toReturn.setPadding(0,0,0,0); } else if(position == 1){ toReturn.setTextSize(20); toReturn.setPadding( toReturn.getPaddingLeft(), 0, toReturn.getPaddingRight(), 0 ); toReturn.setText("Next Bus: " + toReturn.getText()); toReturn.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER_HORIZONTAL|Gravity.TOP); } return toReturn; } } But this inadvertantly causes some of the other textviews to take on these special attributes. I think it's because cause textviews get "recycled" in the AbsListAdapter class.

  • Strange problems with the Spring RestTemplate in Android application

    - by HarryCater
I begin to use RESTful api of the Spring Framework in my android client application. But I have encountered with problems when I tried to execute HTTP request via postForObject/postForEntity methods. Here is my code: public String _URL = "https://noticemed.com/app/mobile/login"; public void BeginAuthorization(View view) { HttpHeaders requestHeaders = new HttpHeaders(); requestHeaders.setContentType(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON); HttpEntity<String> _entity = new HttpEntity<String>(requestHeaders); RestTemplate templ = new RestTemplate(); templ.setRequestFactory(new HttpComponentsClientHttpRequestFactory()); templ.getMessageConverters().add(new MappingJacksonHttpMessageConverter()); ResponseEntity<String> _response = templ.postForEntity(_URL,_entity,String.class); //HERE APP CRASHES String _body = _response.getBody(); And here is a stack trace in logcat after app crashing. As you see there is no definite error message. So the question what am I doing wrong? How to fix this? May there is other way to do it?I really need a help. Thanks in advance!

  • Logging broadcast Intents and manually trigger them (Android)

    - by poeschlorn
Hey guys, during my development in android I've missed a function that can log every broadcast intent that occur. Sometimes it had been very useful to have a function like that... I'm also wondering how to trigger those broadcast intents manually on the emulator. Is there an entire overview of available broadcast intents? Would be great if someone would have some answers, greets, poeschlorn

  • Android TimePicker hour field disappears after orientation change

    - by sosiouxme
I am using a TimePicker under API 1.5 and when the orientation is changed on my device (a stock G1 running 1.6 - though NOT on the 1.5/1.6 emulator), the hour field goes blank. It still remembers the hour, it just doesn't show it. Is there any workaround for this? The same problem was described by someone else here: http://groups.google.com/group/android-beginners/browse_thread/thread/b4288004021b876/de5899a2bb291ab5 Nothing helpful was forthcoming - can StackOverflow do better?

  • Is MobiForms for Android worth investigating ?

    - by Alan B
I'm working my way through the NotePad tutorial, and that's all fine - I'm not a Java programmer but it's close enough to C# (or vice versa) to make it easy to pick up. I'm surprised that there aren't any RAD tools for Android apart from Mobiforms. Is there anyone out there with experience of Mobiforms ?

I'm looking to get a device (phone, tablet, etc.) for developing Android applications. I know I can use the emulator to get me started, but I feel like that will only get me so far along. I'm looking for something reasonably priced, and I don't want a phone contract, data plan, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?
