    I need to calculate modulus with large number like : <?php $largenum = 95635000009453274121700; echo $largenum % 97; ?> It's not working... beacause $largenum is too big for an int in PHP. Any idea how to do this ?

  • I'm tired of JButtons, how can I make a nicer GUI in java ?

    So far I've only build "small" graphical applications, using swing and JComponents as I learned at school. Yet I can't bear ugly JButtons anymore. I've tried to play with the different JButton methods, like changing colors, putting icons etc. but I'm still not satisfied. How do you make a nicer GUI in java ? I'm looking for not-too-heavy alternatives (like, without big frameworks or too complicated libraries).

    Hi, I have one asp.net Ajax Login using webservices. In this login i call the loogout() client side from hyperlink: Sys.Services.AuthenticationService.logout(null,onLogoutCompleted,null,null); return false; My Webservice make : [WebMethod] public void Logout() { FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); } logout work but my page make one big postback. Some way to make NO postback at logout? Thanks

    I want to transfer big files (1GB) over unreliable transport channels. When connection is interrupted, I don't want start file transfering from the begining. I can partially store it in a temp table and store last readed position, so when connection is reestablished I can request continue uploading of file from this position. Is there any best-practice for such kind of things. I'm currently use chunking channel.

    Hi, I'm working on a hash function which gets a string as input. Right now I'm doing a loop and inside the hash (an int variable) is being multiplied by a value and then the ASCII code for the current character is added to the mix. hash = hash * seed + string[i] But sometimes, if the string is big enough there is an integer overflow there, what can I do to avoid it while maintaining the same hash structure? Maybe a bit operation included inside the loop?

    Hi , i am doing one small application , wheich have login functionality, in the user table am maintaining the AVAILABLE status for the logged USER, example : i have three user called foo1,foo2,foo3 , When foo1 logged then his AVAILABLE STATUS WILL UPDATE AS 1 IN THE USERTABLE, if he logged out then his AVAILABLE STATUS goes to 0, like the foo2, and foo3 , for this available status flasg , amsimply using the update operation ..no other big functionality , Now What i want is, If somthing happened when user logged in , then i want to make the available status as 0, Somthing means , I WANT TO CHANGE THE AVAILABLE STATUS TO 0 , WHEN system CRASH OR browser crash Thanks Bharanikumar

  • How to avoid sshfs freezing?

    So the issue is this: I've installed sshfs on Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm trying to connect to a couple of remote servers. So initially the mount seams successful. Sometimes Gnome even picks it up and displays the "new device found" box at the bottom of the screen. but from here on there is not much that works. Or at least not any more. The first couple of times i connected it seamed to work fine, and I was able to transfer some files, then i disconnected using fusermount -u <folder> and after reconnecting a little later the trouble started. Now after executing sshfs -o ServerAliveInterval=15 -o reconnect -C -o workaround=all -o idmap=user root@<host>:/ <folder>, when I change directory into the mount-point, the shell just freezes. Strangely ls -al <folder> works when listing just the root of the remote system, but nothing more. Also every file-explorer I've tried freezes just like cd <folder>. To me it seamed like there was some kind of zombie thread or something hanging around my system, due to the fact that it did work the first time, so I have tried rebooting but no luck. sshfs -V gives this: SSHFS version 2.3 FUSE library version: 2.8.6 fusermount version: 2.8.6 using FUSE kernel interface version 7.12 So yea, any ideas?

  • WPF windows locked when calling webservice. Even when run asynchronously

    Hi there. I'm having a big problem when calling a web service from my WPF application. The application/window locks until the process has completed. I've attempted to run this asynchronously but the problem still persists. Currently, the web service call I'm making can last 45-60 seconds. It runs a process on the server to fetch a big chunk of data. As it take a little while I wanted to have a progress bar moving indeterminately for the user to see that the application hasn't stalled or anything (you know how impatatient they get).     I was hoping it was as easy as referencing my existing libraries to use them with WP7. However, it complains about not able to load them because of .Net CF when I actually use them. Do i need to recompile them to .NET CF or something? I thought the big plus of WP7 was: leveraging your existing codebase...? How can I leverage my existing codebase if I need to strip everything out of it and maintain multiple versions?

I would like to know if there is a way to get the preview used by windows explorer. For example windows explorer creates a small thumbnail for a pdf document for example, and displays it when the user chooses to view "big icons". Is there a way to retrieve that preview?
