The revisions span the better part of a decade and I need to preserve as much branch and tag information as possible.     Hi, I need to implement browser plugin which can register it's own protocol (like someprotocol://someurl ) and be able to handle calls to this protocol (like user clicking on 'someprotocol' link calls function inside my plugin). As far as I undesrtand Skype does something simmilar, except I need to handle links within page context and not in separated app. Any advices on how this can be done? Can this be done without installing my own plugin, with help of flash/java?

    How do I pass the identity of the logged on user in an a webapplication to a service beeing called by the webserver? My idea her is to set som kind of EndpointIdentity on the cahnnel. In my case this will be an GUID identifing the user's session on the webserver. Anyone got any exprience on this.. Maybe I have misunderstood the concept? Any idea's or links would be apriciated.

  • Microsoft Windows 64-bit application development best practises installation folder.

    My problem is that a vendor is providing me with a 64bit application (packed in a 64bit installer) but it goes and installs to the x86 (Program Files) Folder and he keeps telling me its OK but I want it to install in the Program Files directory; as the 32 bit version does that and scripts for the app are developed based on this assumption. Can someone direct me to the Microsoft recommended best practices for 64bit applications(links). Thanks in advance.

  • Does calling a click method effect the HtmlPage object if there is a 404?

    If I call a click method on a HtmlAnchor, and say that page returns a 404, does that mean the HtmlPage will effect, so searching for another link on the page will result in an error because the page's HTML is the error page (assuming the link is NOT on the error page). Can I manually set the page's HTML, and then locate and click on links and continue on from this approach? (other than connecting via a URL)

However, I really feel like I'm reinventing the wheel here, and it's driving me nuts. Shouldn't this already exist somewhere? However, when I click on translate, the link admin/node/65/translate just takes me to the homepage, while admin/node/65/edit lets me edit the article. Is there a Pathauto setting I'm missing to allow me to translate the page?

    Hi all, I have set up AuthLogic almost exactly as per the AuthLogic example app at http://github.com/binarylogic/authlogic_example. After someone logs in as User, they can click on links that send them away into the system and away from the users controller. This is an incredibly noob question, but how can I access that User's ID and other attributes from anywhere else, such as an unrelated view or unrelated controller? An example of what I'd like to do: #matchings controller @matching = Matching.find_by_user_id(user.id)

    I have several PDF files stored in Amazon S3. Each file is associated with a user and only the file owner can access the file. I have enforced this in my download page. But the actual PDF link points to Amazon S3 url, which is accessible to anybody. How do I enforce the access-control rules for this url?(without making my server a proxy for all the PDF download links)
