• Problem with images in upload directory after upgrading WordPress to 3.0

  I've developed a WordPress plugin and it wordked well from WP 2.0 and up to WP 3.0rc1 (haven't tried rc2) but now with rc3 and milestone 3.0 a strange and irritating error appeared. If you check out my demo page you will se that none of the cover-images is working. they are in the same place as before but they can not be hotlinked or show up when i enter the correct url. if i move the img-directory from /wp-content/uploads/my-record-collection/ to /wp-content/uploads/ the images show up if i enter the url, but not if i move it back inside my "my-record-collection"-folder. anyone know what change in rc3(or maybe rc2) that made this bug appear and what can be done to fix it?

• [grails] setting cookies when render type is "contentType: text/json"

  Is it possible to set cookies on response when the return render type is set as json? I can set cookies on the response object when returning with a standard render type and later on, I'm able to get it back on the subsequent request. However, if I were to set the cookies while rendering the return values as json, I can't seem to get back the cookie on the next request object. What's happening here? These two actions work as expected with 'basicForm' performing a regular form post to the action, 'withRegularSubmit', when the user clicks submit. // first action set the cookie and second action yields the originally set cookie def regularAction = { // using cookie plugin response.setCookie("username-regular", "regularCookieUser123",604800); return render(view: "basicForm"); } // called by form post def withRegularSubmit = { def myCookie = request.getCookie("username-regular"); // returns the value 'regularCookieUser123' return render(view: "resultView"); } When I switch to setting the cookie just before returning from the response with json, I don't get the cookie back with the post. • Does a PHP library exist to work with PRC/.mobi files?

  I'm writing a WordPress plugin to create an eBook from a selected category in most major eBook formats. I would like to support MobiPocket since that's the format used by the Kindle but I'm not sure how to go about it. From what I've read .mobi files are actually Palm Resource Databases (PRC) but I haven't been able to find a PHP class to work with these. I thought about using exec along with KindleGen but that would be undesirable as it would complicate initial setup. I've also thought about hosting a web service somewhere and using XML-RPC to accomplish this but that also complicates things. My question is: is there a PHP class/library (PHP-only preferred) that can work with PRC or even better, a class that specialises in creating MobiPocket ebooks? (needs to be open source since I'm releasing under the GPL) I've tried searching but haven't been able to find anything.

  If I have lots of pages... page_ids 1-100... how do I link between the two in the editor?? I guess I can use <a href="/index.php?page_id=x">Link</a> but that's not user friendly... I want to do something like <a href="<?= get_permalink(x); ?>">Link</a> but that doesn't work either... help please... is there a handy plugin...

• JQuery Validation using Remote posts empty data to webservice

  I'm using the JQuery Validation plugin. I'm using the remote option to make a call to my webservice to check if a company name exists. The webservice only accepts JSON data. I pass the data to the webservice from the Company Input Field in my Form as follows: data: "{'company': '" + $('#Company').val() + "'}" But this always returns a blank value for company so the response is {'company':''} i.e. correct JSON but missing the Company Input Field value. Can anyone shed some light on why I always get a blank value here? Thanks for the help, Ciaran

• Is there a way to send a blog post to wordpress via an api?

  In more details: I want to build a web service to which users register and by browsing my site, users can send blog posts to their own blogs. Initially wordpress.org is discussed. However, I'll be happy to hear solutions for typepad or wordpress.com as well. The ideal solution would be a way for my server to simply "tell" their blog what to post (as a draft of course for them to confirm). A good solution would be for my users to install a plugin in their blog that will allow my server the above functionality. Lacking any other solution, I would give my users text to copy-paste into their blog editor. Help me find a solution and feel free to be creative!

To help me write crappy code faster is there a way to have a View that has a web page in it?   I'm using WordPress as CMS for a site I'm developing. When I'm browsing posts, I can use Next/Previous links to walk between posts. I want to have the same thing on pages. Page A Page B Page C Page A should link to next sibling Page B. Page B should link to previous sibling Page A and next sibling Page C. Page C should link to previous sibling Page B. Is there any plugin you can recommend that generates these links? I know there are some plugins that do this, but I specifically want one that hooks into my current theme automatically. I know how to edit the theme, but that would brick my site whenever a theme update is available. I'm using the LightWord WordPress theme.

  Hi guys, I'd like to create a website with similar concept as 'Hot or Not' where users need to sign up to the website and then upload photos. Each photo can be given a description and some additional fields. Other users may comment and rate the photo entries. On top of that, users may favourite/bookmark (and remove) any photo entries and they're accessible via their profile page That's generally how the website will be. Can't decide on a CMS to use Somehow I'm at a crossroad here. I've done some research and found that Joomla has an extension that is able to pull this website off but the thing is I'm not that comfortable with using Joomla. I work with WordPress most of the time, but I can't seem to figure out how would I build this website with WordPress. Would using BuddyPress make it work? Would hiring a plugin developer to customize some plugins work? What do you guys think?

  Hi there. I have a program that is extendable by plugins using the Microsoft Extensibility Framework. But i dont want untrusted sources to give out plugins that may be insecure. So i want to sign the plugins (maybe with Visual Studio's built in signing) and check if the plugins are trustworthy at program start. I didn't find a way to check DLL signing from inside C#. And also there is the problem, that I load the plugins with a DirectoryCatalog. There is no way to tell, which plugin is from which file. Anyone knows a way to do this? Thanks for any help, Marks

• How to programmatically fetch posts matching a search query in WordPress?

  In my plugin code I would like to perform a WP_Query (or similar) which returns all posts matching a given query string, as if the user typed that same string into the WordPress search form. Perhaps I'm just being dense, but I cannot seem to find a way to do so. I would expect to have a special parameter for WP_Query, such as matching, but I see no evidence of one. I'll start going through the WordPress codebase to see how it's done internally, and I'll post the answer here if I find it. I just thought someone might happen to know offhand.

• Image gets slightly erased on SWT/Windows

  I have an Eclipse plugin which includes a view. The view has several icons in the toolbar. I'm experiencing a very strange problem: on Windows, in some occasions (after prolonged use), one of the icons gets slightly erased. This does not happen on other platforms. This looks like a memory leak or some other resource misuse, but I just can't figure out where. The rest of the icons, which are initialized and used in the exact same manner are not affected. I tried working with Sleak, but I really don't see anything out of the ordinary. Any help would be appreciated.

• How do I fix JavaHL (JNI) Not available after I have changed the logon password on my Mac?

  I have installed Eclipse 3.5.2 and the plugin Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter 1.6.9.2 and this worked without any problems. However, this morning I was forced to change the password to logon to my Mac and since then I get the message that "Subversion native library not available" when I try to save any changes. Can anyone help? I have tried to add this line (-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni) to the eclipse.ini file but this didn´t seem to make any difference. Can anyone help?

• Eclipse content assist with maven project not picking up all classes

  I'm using Eclipse 3.5.0, and have imported a maven project using the import maven project from SCM wizard (M2 plugin). I have a jar file as a dependency in my pom. and inside the jar is a complicated schema - with quite a number of XSD's. But the content assist doesn't seem to pick up the schema at all, nor a number of other classes in the dependency list. yet for another module in the same project it seems to work ok. Does anyone know why this is? it's driving me mad!

• Maven release prepare without prompts?

  I want to automate the execution of Maven release:prepare with Perl so that the user doesn't have to answer the prompts for version names etc. Are there a -D arguments that can be supplied so that no prompting is done? I tried the obvious solution which is to feed the prompt answers to mvn via perl code like this: my $cmd = qq(mvn release:prepare -DautoVersionSubmodules=true-DpreparationGoals="clean install"); open MVN, "| $cmd"; print MVN "\n"; # default print MVN "$cur_version"; print MVN "\n"; print MVN "$next_version"; print MVN "\n"; close MVN; but mvn ignores such input and winds up using the defaults (and doesn't prompt either). • Grails: No tag library for namespace. Cannot use any plugins with custom taglibs.

  I can't seem to use any of the grails ui plugins such as richui or grails-ui. I used grails install-plugin to install them, and grails list-plugins shows that they are correctly installed. However, whenever I use their provided taglibs in my views, I get this exception: Tag [tabview] does not exist. No tag library found for namespace: gui or Tag [tabview] does not exist. No tag library found for namespace: richui I'd really like to use these features, but cannot figure out how to get grails to recognize that the tag libraries are installed.

  Hi, i am currently trying to implement a "third party framework" (FeedbackReporter.Framework) into my preferencepane. Unfortunately I am getting the following error all the time when trying to launch my preference pane: 16.05.10 23:13:30 System Preferences[32645] dlopen_preflight failed with dlopen_preflight(/Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/myPane): Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/FeedbackReporter.framework/Versions/A/FeedbackReporter Referenced from: /Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/myPane Reason: image not found for /Users/me/Library/PreferencePanes/myPane.prefPane As far as I read so far, this problem is probably caused because my prefPane is no actual app, but a "plugin" of "System Settings.app" and thus @executable_path resolves to a path within the bundle of this app, instead of the bundle of my prefpane. But I don't really picked up howto fix this problem. I guess it must be fairly easy since it should be a usual case that people use non-apple-frameworks in PreferencePanes. Thanks for your hints!

• xterm not wrapping text properly

  I'm configuring both my gnome-terminal and xterm columns (i still haven't picked which of these I will be using) and I have a couple of issues I would like to fix: the typing area seems to be smaller (fewer columns) than the display area the typed text is not wrapping to the next line when it reaches the end - it just continues back around on the same line, overwriting the prompt (i have set a custom bash prompt with PS1 in case this is relevant) $ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. I have found that I can get the desired result by setting the columns to a very large number, eg: $ stty cols 1800 this fixes both problems. Is it the right way to go about solving this problem? Will this "break" any of the output from programs? • Yahoo Webmail - Garbled Quote Text

  I've encountered a very strange problem when trying to reply to e-mail via my Yahoo Web Mail from a family member's computer. She received an e-mail from a client who is using Microsoft Outlook. When I receive the message it looks perfectly fine in my browser and I can read it. It doesn't happen with all e-mails except this particular one. At a glance it almost looks like raw CSS code that's being displayed, but I really can't understand why. So far I have tried the following: Try a different browser, both IE11 and Google Chrome Check the browser encoding settings Check Yahoo Web Mail's encoding/font settings My only other guess is that the client used some weird font or formatting on the e-mail that is throwing the message body out of sync. Unfortunately for my family member, she is a contractor working with a medium-sized company that refuses to provide her with a domain e-mail address, so she is forced to conduct business this way. Simply asking the sender to use a more widely supported font wouldn't be an acceptable solution here. Any thoughts?

• jQuery programmatically removing validation highlighting

  The form has two check boxes (cbDeclined & cbIsOOfFac), two text fields and a drop down (txtHeight, txtWeight, ddlDevice). If either check box is checked, then the other controls are disabled and the rules for the other do no apply. The user clicks on either cbDeclined & cbIsOOfFac. The highlight is NOT going away. I am trying to figure out how to get the highlighting around the height and drop down to go away. I tried to create a fully working jsFiddler, but I cannot get anything to work, though everything looks correct. here is the link (I cannot post links, so I expanded it a bit) jsfiddle dot net/scarleton/9hDZQ/12/ If you remove the last /12/, you will see my first version that is a cut/paste from the real thing. Per a suggestion I tried adding $('form').valid(); a number of places. When I added it to the end of the UpdateTextBoxes() function, they started out highlighted, not what I want. When I added it after the click() event of either of the radio button, the text would go away, but the actual controls stayed highlighted. It looks like the function on the required property of the rule is not fully working, maybe. What is really interesting is this: When I enter a height, click , then weight and device are highlighted and have the error message under them. When I click on one of the radio buttons, the text goes away, but the highlight does not. But... The height is NOT highlighted, it stays normal.

• Truncating long strings with CSS: feasible yet?

  Is there any good way of truncating text with plain HTML and CSS, so that dynamic content can fit in a fixed-width-and-height layout? I've been truncating server-side by logical width (i.e. a blindly-guessed number of characters), but since a 'w' is wider than an 'i' this tends to be suboptimal, and also requires me to re-guess (and keep tweaking) the number of characters for every fixed width. Ideally the truncation would happen in the browser, which knows the physical width of the rendered text. I've found that IE has a text-overflow: ellipsis property that does exactly what I want, but I need this to be cross-browser. This property seems to be (somewhat?) standard but isn't supported by Firefox. I've found various workarounds based on overflow: hidden, but they either don't display an ellipsis (I want the user to know the content was truncated), or display it all the time (even if the content wasn't truncated). Does anyone have a good way of fitting dynamic text in a fixed layout, or is server-side truncation by logical width as good as I'm going to get for now?
