I have a ForeignKey relationship between TextPage and Paragraph and my goal is to make front-end TextPage creating/editing form as if it was in ModelAdmin with 'inlines': several field for the TextPage and then a couple of Paragraph instances stacked inline. • C#.NET Forms programing - Modal and Non-Modal forms problem

  Hello, I have a problem with modality of the forms under C#.NET. Let's say I have main form #0 (see the image below). This form represents main application form, where user can perform various operations. However, from time to time, there is a need to open additional non-modal form to perform additional main application functionality supporting tasks. Let's say this is form #1 in the image. On this #1 form there might be opened few additional modal forms on top of each other (#2 form in the image), and at the end, there is a progress dialog showing a long operation progress and status, which might take from few minutes up to few hours. The problem is that the main form #0 is not responsive until you close all modal forms (#2 in the image). I need that the main form #0 would be operational in this situation. However, if you open a non-modal form in form #2, you can operate with both modal #2 form and newly created non modal form. I need the same behavior between the main form #0 and form #1 with all its child forms. Is it possible? Or am I doing something wrong? Maybe there is some kind of workaround, I really would not like to change all ShowDialog calls to ShowDialog... Thanks, Povilas

  I have a list of items in my form which are named like this... <input type="text" id="ListItem1"> <input type="text" id="ListItem2"> <input type="text" id="ListItem3"> I want to create a custom model binder which converts these in to model with this structure... public class MyModel { public IEnumerable<MyModelItem> Items {get; set;} } public class MyModelItem { public int Id { get; set; } public string Value { get; set; } } So each ListItem should be converted to a MyModelItem with id equal to the number at the end of the input id and value set to the value on the input field. In ASP.Net MVC 1.0 I could iterate over the bindingContext.ValueProvider.Keys collection and check for key.StartsWith("ListItem") to find all input items in this format. The new IValueProvider interface in ASP.Net MVC 2 does not have a keys collection and I cannot iterate over that interface. How can I access these values which I only know the prefix for at design time in ASP.Net MVC 2?

  I want to create a display group generated from foreach() clause output. I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Here's the business logic: for each category row find the associated fees output the category description as a label and the fees as radio buttons then create a display group with the fees as the group elements and the category description as the legend.   So I have some C++ code for back-tracking nodes in a BFS algorithm. It looks a little like this: typedef std::map<int> MapType; bool IsValuePresent(const MapType& myMap, int beginVal, int searchVal) { int current_val = beginVal; while (true) { if (current_val == searchVal) return true; MapType::iterator it = myMap.find(current_val); assert(current_val != myMap.end()); if (current_val == it->second) // end of the line return false; current_val = it->second; } } However, the while (true) seems... suspicious to me. I know this code works, and logically I know it should work. However, I can't shake the feeling that there should be some condition in the while, but really the only possible one is to use a bool variable just to say if it's done. Should I stop worrying? Or is this really bad form. EDIT: Thanks to all for noticing that there is a way to get around this. However, I would still like to know if there are other valid cases.

• Mutating PDF editable fields programatically

  Out of tons of questions and answers here about manipulating PDF's with PHP, but none of them seem to fit my requirement. Programmatically, I want to be able to update the content of editable fields. Preferably with PHP. If it matters, the PDF files will be initially hand crafted (as sort of 'template' files that will be copied and filled in over and over again). The list of PDF_* functions on php.net doesn't give me anything that looks (directly) promising. Is this possible with PHP? How?

• Django inlineformset validation and delete

  Hi, Can someone tell me if a form in an inlineformset should go through validation if the DELETE field is checked. I have a form that uses an inlineformset and when I check the DELETE box it fails because the required fields are blank. If I put data in the fields it will pass validation and then be deleted. Is that how it is supposed to work, I would have thought that if it is marked for delete it would bypass the validation for that form. Regards Andrew Follow up - but I would still appreciate some others opinions/help What I have figured out is that for validation to work the a formset form must either be empty or complete(valid) otherwise it will have errors when it is created and will not be deleted. As I have a couple of hidden fields in my formset forms and they are pre-populated when the page loads via javascript the form fails validation on the other required fields which might still be blank. The way I have gotten around this by adding in a check in the add_fields that tests if the DELETE input is True and if it is it makes all fields on the form not required, which means it passes validation and will then delete. def add_fields(self, form, index) #add other fields that are required.... deleteValue = form.fields['DELETE'].widget.value_from datadict(form.data, form.files, form.add_prefix('DELETE')) if bool(deleteValue) or deleteValue == '': for name, field in form.fields.items(): form.fields[name].required= False This seems to be an odd way to do things but I cannot figure out another way. Is there a simpler way that I am missing? I have also noticed that when I add the new form to my page and check the Delete box, there is no value passed back via the request, however an existing form (one loaded from the database) has a value of on when the Delete box is checked. If the box is not checked then the input is not in the request at all. Thanks Andrew

  I'm developing a form, and using jQuery UI Autocomplete. When the user selects an option, I want the selection to pop into a span appended to the parent <p> tag. Then I want the field to clear rather than be populated with the selection. I have the span appearing just fine, but I can't get the field to clear. How do you cancel jQuery UI Autocomplete's default select action? Here is my code: var availableTags = ["cheese", "milk", "dairy", "meat", "vegetables", "fruit", "grains"]; $("[id^=item-tag-]").autocomplete({ source: availableTags, select: function(){ var newTag = $(this).val(); $(this).val(""); $(this).parent().append("<span>" + newTag + "<a href=\"#\">[x]</a> </span>"); } }); Simply doing $(this).val(""); doesn't work.   Zend_Validate_Alpha doesn't fit 100% to that what I want and I don't get Zend_Validate_Regex working. I want that the validator just allows a-z/A-Z, 0-9, _ and -. I tried to add the following to one of my inputs: addValidator('Regex', true, array('pattern' => '/^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]/')) but for example abc§$%& is a valid input says the Zend Validator. What am I doing wrong?

• PHP PayPal IPN - Getting drop down menu

  I'm using Paypal's buy it now buttons along with an IPN handler written in PHP to send me an e-mail whenever a purchase is made. The e-mail is properly being sent and is passing much of the data, but it's not capturing the drop down list for selecting a clothing item's size. Here's my button code fields: <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Test Shirt"> <input type="hidden" name="item_number" value="001"> <input type="hidden" name="on0" value="sizes"> Select a size: <select name="os0"> <option value="Small">Small </option> <option value="Medium">Medium </option> <option value="Large">Large </option> <option value="Extra Large">Extra Large </option> </select> My PHP IPN script that captures the data into variables looks like this: $item_name = $_POST['item_name']; $item_number = $_POST['item_number']; $size = $_POST['on0']; $sizeChoice = $_post['os0']; The e-mail properly displays the item name and item number, but nothing for the $size and $sizeChoice variables.   Can you validate just a single property with the Fluent Validation Library, and if so how? I thought this discussion thread from January of 2009 showed me how to do it via the following syntax: validator.Validate(new Person(), x => x.Surname); Unfortunately it doesn't appear this works in the current version of the library. One other thing that led me to believe that validating a single property might be possible is the following quote from Jeremy Skinners' blog post: "Finally, I added the ability to be able to execute some of FluentValidation’s Property Validators without needing to validate the entire object. This means it is now possible to stop the default “A value was required” message from being added to ModelState. " However I do not know if that necessarily means it supports just validating a single property or the fact that you can tell the validation library to stop validating after the first validation error.
