  • Image processing: smart solution for converting superixel (128x128 pixel) coordinates needed

    Hi, i am searching for a smart solution for this problem: A cancer ct picture is stored inside a unsigned short array (1-dimensional). I have the location information of the cancer region inside the picture, but the coordinates (x,y) are in superpixel (128x128 unsigned short). My task is to highlight this region. I already solved this one by converting superpixel coordinates into a offset a can use for the unsigned short array. It works fine but i wonder if there is a smarter way to solve this problem, since my solution needs 3 nested for-loops.     so, let's say i have the long/lat or address of many buildings can get satellite images, "street view", and perhaps 3d/perspective views of buildings. want to find: height, number of floors, floor area (max building footprint) of the building. about 200k buildings. Is there a library for recognizing buildings from satellite shots or pictures? Kind of like face detection I suppose. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

    Example CSS File: .testClass { color: black; background: red; } Now in an HTML file, I would like to have something like <span class="testClass:color">Text in black but without red background</span> to only apply the color property of that class. Is there a way to do this? The purpose behind it (for people asking themselves "Why the hell would he want that, that's not clean CSS usage!") is that I use jQuery UI themes, and I would like the entire page to fit a theme upon change. As not all kinds of elements (e.g. the color of a link) are covered by those themes, in those cases I would like to "steal" the color property (but not more) of some other CSS class of the jQuery UI theme. If there is another way to do this, of course I'm glad to hear it as well!

    I have tried multiple solutions for replacing broken images (both JS & jQuery) and all work perfectly with IE but not in FF, is there a reason for this? Are images handled differently in FF that may cause this? JQuery Example: $("img").error(function(){ $(this).unbind("error").attr("src", "nopic.jpg"); }); Javascript Example: (triggered by onError event in img tag) function noimage(img){ img.onerror=""; img.src="nopic.jpg"; return true; } Both of these examples work perfectly in IE but not at all in FF.     hello there , i know that there is some rules and standards in css handling but i mean which one is closer to a human thinking. for example : when i give a DIV tag a height property of 100px i just want it to be 100px! but in Firefox i should work on min-height or max-width and so on ! there is many like this examlpe , i think IE read css more humanestic against Firefox. i have several experiences in this case , your final nice design in IE can be a mess in Firefox thats because of the way they handle css. Firefox act as a robot but IE act as a human-half robot ! its just my idea. i will be glad to hear and learn from you proffesionals and other friends here. thank you.

    i'm a student and i am bad at programing. I saved the images in my mysql database for each player. I created a program where I can list some soccer players from my database. When i click on a listed player in datagrid, a new window appears with the information about the player. Everything works, but now i want a picture of the selected player to be displayed on the information window from the database. Can anybody help me? My english is not the best (i'm 17) so i hope you can understand what i mean. This is what i tried to do but i don't know how to continue. PS. It's in WPF.   • Can I distort a bitmap image in Flash?

    Hi, what I would like to do is to take a loaded GIF file as a Bitmap, and then distort it by stretching and shrinking parts of it, so it would look like it got squished up against the screen. I'm pretty sure that there's no easy way in Flash to go beyond scaling and shearing, but I wonder if there might be some simple techniques to accomplish this kind of effect. By the way, I've also thought of pre-deforming the images in GIMP and saving them there, but I can't find a simple way to do it without learning their scripting language. Thanks for your help!

    I have a table, with 10 columns. I want to control the width of each column. Each column is unique, right now I create an external CSS style for each column: div#my-page table#members th.name-col { width: 40px; } I know there is a best practice to avoid inline style. I do approve using external CSS for anything look'n'feel related: fonts, colors, images. But is it really better to use external CSS in this case? It does not incur extra maintenance cost. It is easier to produce. Cons I can think of: If you have separate designers and development team - using inline styles will force designers to modify content-file (aspx in my case). It might use more bandwidth. Anything else I've missed?

  • CSS float problems, works in IE, doesn't work in Chrome/FF.. I'm probably doing something wrong

    I'm not terribly well-versed in CSS.. and don't know all of the major quirks yet. Maybe someone can help me. I've set up an image showing my code, a diagram of my DIVs, and examples of how it looks in IE versus Chrome/FF Can someone direct me to the proper way to go about this? It works fine in IE, but in Chrome and FF, one of the images is escaping its container, and the "content block" as I call it is going underneath the image it's supposed to be next to. Each of the components has a css class despite my diagram saying there's no css.. currently there's just some basic styling for those (padding, text-indent, etc). Thank you

    I'm developing a game with AS3 and AIR. I will have a large-ish quantity of images that I need to load for display elements. It would be nice not to embed all of the images that the game needs, thereby avoiding having them all in memory at once. That's okay in smaller projects, but doesn't make sense here. I'm curious about strategies for loading images during run time. Since all of the files are quite small and local ( in my current project ) loading them on request might be the best solution, but I'd like to hear what ideas people have for managing this. For bonus points, I'm also curious about solutions for loading images on-demand server-side as well.

    I can't change Firefox's menu background color using userChrome.css on Windows 7. menubar, menubutton, menulist, menu, menuitem { color: red !important; background-color: orange !important; } This seems to work as the menubar changes to red and orange. But the background-color on the actual drop down menu stays the same (that Windows 7 menu look), although the text color does change to red. Any ideas??
