  • Jqeury Validate() special function

    - by kevin
    Hi there, i'm using the Jquery validate() plugin for some forms and it goes great. The only thing is that i have an input field that requires a special validation process. Here is how it goes: The Jquery validate plugin is called in the domready for all the required fields. Here is an exemple for an input: <li> <label for="nome">Nome completo*</label> <input name="nome" type="text" id="nome" class="required"/> </li> And here is how i call my special function: <li> <span id="sprytextfield1"> <label for="cpf">CPF* (xxxxxxxxxxx)</label> <input name="cpf" type="text" id="cpf" maxlength="15" class="required" /> <span class="textfieldInvalidFormatMsg">CPF Inv&aacute;lido.</span> </span> </li> And at the bottom of the file i call the Spry function: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sprytextfield1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1","cpf"); //--> </script> Of course i call the Spry css and js files in the head section as well as my special-validate.js. When i just use the Jquery validate() plugin and click on the send button, the page goes automatically back to the first mistaken input field and shows the error type (not a number, not a valid email etc.). But with this new function, this "going-back-to-the-first-mistake" feature doesnt work, of course, because the validate() function sees it all good. I already added a rule for another form (about pictures upload) and it goes like this: $("#commentForm").validate({ rules: { foto34: { required: true, accept: "jpg|png|gif" } } }); Now my question is, how can i add the special validation function as a rule of the whole validation process ? Here is the page to understand it better: link text and the special field is the first one: CPF. Hope i was clear explaining my problem. Thanks in advance. kevin

  • Multiplying field value with retreived value jQuery

    - by Efe
    I pull product price from another page. Then I multiply it with quantity entered in the quantity input field. The problem is, if I forget to enter quantity value before I pull product price data or if I change the quantity field later, the final total price is not updated. I hope I clearly explained it. javascript: $('#AddProduct').click(function() { var i = 0; var adding = $(+(i++)+'<div class="row'+(i)+'"><div class="column width50"><input type="text" id="PRODUCTNAME" name="PRODUCTNAME'+(i)+'" value="" class="width98" /><input type="hidden" class="PRODUCTID" name="PRODUCTID" /><input type="hidden" class="UNITPRICE" name="UNITPRICE'+(i)+'" /><small>Search Products</small></div><div class="column width20"><input type="text" class="UNITQUANTITY" name="UNITQUANTITY'+(i)+'" value="" class="width98" /><small>Quantity</small></div><div class="column width30"><span class="prices">Unit Price:<span class="UNITPRICE"></span><br />Total Price:<span class="TOTALPRICE"></span><br /><a href="#" id="RemoveProduct(".row'+(i)+'");">Remove</a></span></div>'); $('#OrderProducts').append(adding); adding.find("#PRODUCTNAME").autocomplete("orders.cs.asp?Process=ListProducts", { selectFirst: false }).result(function(event, data, formatted) { if (data) { adding.find(".UNITPRICE").html(data[1]); adding.find(".PRODUCTID").val(data[2]); adding.find(".TOTALPRICE").html(data[1] * $('.UNITQUANTITY').val()); } }); return false; }); $('#RemoveProduct').click(function() { $().remove(); return false; }); my html: <fieldset> <h2>Order Items</h2> <div id="OrderProducts"> <a href="#" id="AddProduct"><img src="icons/add.png" alt="Add" /></a> </div> </fieldset> edit Now I totaly messed it up. Removing a row is not working anymore as well... Test link: http://refinethetaste.com/html/cp/?Section=orders&Process=AddOrder#

  • Why is my file being cleared if I don't save it?

    - by Kat
    My program is suppose to maintain a collection of Photos in a PhotoAlbum. It begins by reading a folder of photos and adds them to my PhotoAlbum. It then prints a menu that allows the user to list all the photos, add a photo, find a photo, save, and quit the program. Right now if I run my program it will add the 100 photos to the PhotoAlbum, but if I quit the program without saving, it clears the file I am reading from even if I haven't added a photo or done anything to the PhotoAlbum and I'm not sure why. Here is my method for printing to a file: private static void saveFile(PrintWriter writer) { String result; ArrayList<Photo> temp = album.getPhotoAlbum(); for (int i = 0; i < temp.size(); i++){ result = temp.get(i).toString() + "\n"; writer.println(result); } writer.close(); } And where the PrintWriter is instantiated: File file = new File(args[0] + File.separator + "album.dat"); try { PrintWriter fout = new PrintWriter(new FileWriter(file)); fileWriter = fout; } catch (IOException e){ System.out.println("ReadFromFile: Folder " + args[0] + " is not found."); System.exit(0); } And where it is called in my runMenu Method: private static void runMainMenu(Scanner scan) { String input; do { showMainMenu(); input = scan.nextLine().toLowerCase(); switch (input.charAt(0)) { case 'p': System.out.println(album.toString()); break; case 'a': album.addPhoto(readPhoto(scan, t)); break; case 'f': findMenu(scan); break; case 's': saveFile(fileWriter); System.exit(0); break; case 'q': break; default: System.out.println("Invalid entry: " + input.charAt(0)); break; } } while (!input.equalsIgnoreCase("q")); }

  • Merge Mutliple Excel Workbooks

    - by IRHM
    I wonder whether someone may be able to help me please. I'm trying to use the code below to allow the user to select multiple Excel Workbooks, amalgamating the data into one 'Summary' sheet. Sub Merge() Dim DestWB As Workbook, WB As Workbook, WS As Worksheet, SourceSheet As String Set DestWB = ActiveWorkbook SourceSheet = "Input" startrow = 7 FileNames = Application.GetOpenFilename( _ filefilter:="Excel Files (*.xls*),*.xls*", _ Title:="Select the workbooks to merge.", MultiSelect:=True) If IsArray(FileNames) = False Then If FileNames = False Then Exit Sub End If End If For n = LBound(FileNames) To UBound(FileNames) Set WB = Workbooks.Open(Filename:=FileNames(n), ReadOnly:=True) For Each WS In WB.Worksheets If WS.Name = SourceSheet Then With WS If .UsedRange.Cells.Count > 1 Then dr = DestWB.Worksheets("Input").Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row + 1 lastrow = .Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row For j = lastrow To startrow Step -1 Select Case .Range("E" & j).Value Case "Manager", "Lead", "Technical", "Analyst" 'do nothing Case Else .Rows(j).EntireRow.Delete End Select Next lastrow = .Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row If lastrow >= startrow Then .Range("B" & startrow & ":AD" & lastrow).Copy DestWB.Worksheets("Input").Cells(dr, "B").PasteSpecial xlValues .Range("AF" & startrow & ":AQ" & lastrow).Copy DestWB.Worksheets("Input").Cells(dr, "AF").PasteSpecial xlValues .Range("AS" & startrow & ":AS" & lastrow).Copy DestWB.Worksheets("Input").Cells(dr, "AS").PasteSpecial xlValues End If End If End With Exit For End If Next WS WB.Close savechanges:=False Next n End Sub The code works fine except for one issue which I've been trying to solve for the last few weeks. The following line of code looks in column E of the Source file, and if any of the entries match the values shown in the code it copies that row of data to paste into the Destination file. If Range("E" & j) <> "Manager" And Range("E" & j) <> "Lead" And Range("E" & j) <> "Technical" And Range("E" & j) <> "Analyst" Then Rows(j).Delete The problem I have is that if none of these values are found in the Source file, I receive the following error: Run time error '1004': Delete method of range class failed and in Debug mode it highlights this part of the line as the source of the error, but I've no idea why. Rows(j).Delete I just wondered whether someone may be able to look at this please and let me know where I'm going wrong, or perhaps even suggest a more efficient process of allowing the user to merge the workbooks. Many thanks and kind regards

  • Cannot interact with checkbox in FireFox or Chrome. Works in IE.

    - by Darxide
    Title says it all. Here's the code: <div id="regpage"> <form action="" method="post"> <fieldset style="border:none;"> <div class="label">Username:</div> <input type="text" name="username" class="item" value="" /><br /> <div class="caption">Must be 5-15 characters</div><br /> <div style="clear:both;"></div> <div class="label">Password:</div> <input type="password" name="password" class="item" value="" /><br /> <div class="caption">Must be 6-20 characters</div><br /> <div style="clear:both;"></div> <div class="label">Email:</div> <input type="text" name="email" class="item" value="" /><br /> <div class="caption">Valid email address is required</div><br /> <div style="clear:both;"></div> <input name="terms" type="checkbox" id="terms" value="agree" /><div class="caption2"><label for="terms">I agree to the terms and conditions</label></div> <p><input type="submit" name="register" value="Register" id="register" style="float:left;border:1px solid #999;background:#E4E4E4;margin-top:5px;" /></p><br /> </fieldset> </form> </div> And the id "regpage" is definded in the style.css as: #regpage { width: 356px; height: 150px; color: #000000; font-family: "Tahoma", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; } If I move the checkbox OUT of it works just fine. But inside it will not interact in Mozilla. I've even tried adding onclick='this.checked="checked"' and it still does not interact. You can click until your blue in the face and nothing will happen. What's the deal! This is REALLY driving me batty.

  • How to program and calculate multiple subtotal and grandtotal using jquery?

    - by Victor
    I'm stump figuring out how to do this in jquery, I need to do it without any plug-in. Imagine a shopping cart for books, each change of quantity (using select dropdown) will update the total price, grandtotal and then the hidden input value. <table> <tr> <td class="qty"> <select class="item-1"> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> ... </select> </td> <td class="product"> Book 1 </td> <td class="price-item-1"> $20 </td> <td class="total-item-1"> $20 </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="qty"> <select class="item-2"> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> ... </select> </td> <td class="product"> Book 2 </td> <td class="price-item-2"> $10 </td> <td class="total-item-2"> $10 </td> </tr> ... ... <tr> <td colspan="3" align="right"> <strong>Grand Total:</strong> </td> <td class="grandtotal"> </td> </tr> </table> <input type="hidden" id="qty-item-1" value="0" /> <input type="hidden" id="total-item-1" value="0" /> <input type="hidden" id="qty-item-2" value="0" /> <input type="hidden" id="total-item-2" value="0" />

  • Weird javascript problem...

    - by Silvio Iannone
    Hi there, i'm building a page that is dinamically loaded with ajax. This is what the '$.get' jQuery function calls (this is located on an external HTML page): <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('button').sb_animateButton(); $('input').sb_animateInput(); $('#settings_security_error').hide(); }); function check_passwords(password, password_confirm) { $('#settings_security_error').show(); alert('I\'m in funcion!'); // This works... if(password.length < 4) // ... this doesn't { $('#settings_security_error').innerHTML = 'Password too short'; } else { password = hex_md5(password); password_confirm = hex_md5(password_confirm); $.get('/engine/ajax/check_password.php?password=' + password + '$password_confirm=' + password_confirm, {language: "php", version: 5}, function(result) { $('#settings_security_error').innerHTML = result; }, 'html'); } } </script> <div class="title">Security</div> <table class="sub_container"> <tr> <td><label>Old password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="old_password"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><label>New password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="new_password" id="settings_security_new_password" onkeyup="check_passwords(this.value, getElementById('settings_security_password_confirm').value)"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><label>Confirm password</label></td> <td class="td_input"><input type="password" name="new_password_confirm" id="settings_security_password_confirm" onkeyup="check_passwords(getElementById('settings_security_new_password').value, this.value)"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="td_error" id="settings_security_error"></td> </tr> </table> And this is where the external HTML is placed...: <div id="settings_appearance"> </div> ... from this javascript snippet: function get_page_content(page, target_id) { $.get('engine/ajax/get_page_content.php?page=' + page, null, function(result) { $("#"+target_id).html(result); // Or whatever you need to insert the result }, 'html'); } Well... the problem is that the javascript in the first snippet is executed when it's loaded by the $.get function, but i still can't understand the reason why when i type into the input boxes nothing happen. It should write the output of the javascript function check_passwords(password, password_confirm) in <td class="td_error" id="settings_security_error"></td>. Thanks for helping. Silvio

  • Code golf - hex to (raw) binary conversion

    - by Alnitak
    In response to this question asking about hex to (raw) binary conversion, a comment suggested that it could be solved in "5-10 lines of C, or any other language." I'm sure that for (some) scripting languages that could be achieved, and would like to see how. Can we prove that comment true, for C, too? NB: this doesn't mean hex to ASCII binary - specifically the output should be a raw octet stream corresponding to the input ASCII hex. Also, the input parser should skip/ignore white space. edit (by Brian Campbell) May I propose the following rules, for consistency? Feel free to edit or delete these if you don't think these are helpful, but I think that since there has been some discussion of how certain cases should work, some clarification would be helpful. The program must read from stdin and write to stdout (we could also allow reading from and writing to files passed in on the command line, but I can't imagine that would be shorter in any language than stdin and stdout) The program must use only packages included with your base, standard language distribution. In the case of C/C++, this means their respective standard libraries, and not POSIX. The program must compile or run without any special options passed to the compiler or interpreter (so, 'gcc myprog.c' or 'python myprog.py' or 'ruby myprog.rb' are OK, while 'ruby -rscanf myprog.rb' is not allowed; requiring/importing modules counts against your character count). The program should read integer bytes represented by pairs of adjacent hexadecimal digits (upper, lower, or mixed case), optionally separated by whitespace, and write the corresponding bytes to output. Each pair of hexadecimal digits is written with most significant nibble first. The behavior of the program on invalid input (characters besides [a-fA-F \t\r\n], spaces separating the two characters in an individual byte, an odd number of hex digits in the input) is undefined; any behavior (other than actively damaging the user's computer or something) on bad input is acceptable (throwing an error, stopping output, ignoring bad characters, treating a single character as the value of one byte, are all OK) The program may write no additional bytes to output. Code is scored by fewest total bytes in the source file. (Or, if we wanted to be more true to the original challenge, the score would be based on lowest number of lines of code; I would impose an 80 character limit per line in that case, since otherwise you'd get a bunch of ties for 1 line).

  • Check my anagram code from a job interview in the past.

    - by Michael Dorgan
    Had the following as an interview question a while ago and choked so bad on basic syntax that I failed to advance (once the adrenalin kicks in, coding goes out the window.) Given a list of string, return a list of sets of strings that are anagrams of the input set. i.e. "dog","god", "foo" should return {"dog","god"}. Afterward, I created the code on my own as a sanity check and it's been around now for a bit. I'd welcome input on it to see if I missed anything or if I could have done it much more efficiently. Take it as a chance to improve myself and learn other techniques: void Anagram::doWork(list input, list &output) { typedef list SortType; SortType sortedInput; // sort each string and pair it with the original for(list<string>::iterator i = input.begin(); i != input.end(); ++i) { string tempString(*i); std::sort(tempString.begin(), tempString.end()); sortedInput.push_back(make_pair(*i, tempString)); } // Now step through the new sorted list for(SortType::iterator i = sortedInput.begin(); i != sortedInput.end();) { set<string> newSet; // Assume (hope) we have a match and pre-add the first. newSet.insert(i->first); // Set the secondary iterator one past the outside to prevent // matching the original SortType::iterator j = i; ++j; while(j != sortedInput.end()) { if(i->second == j->second) { // If the string matches, add it to the set and remove it // so that future searches need not worry about it newSet.insert(j->first); j = sortedInput.erase(j); } else { // else, next element ++j; } } // If size is bigger than our original push, we have a match - save it to the output if(newSet.size() > 1) { output.push_back(newSet); } // erase this element and update the iterator i = sortedInput.erase(i); } }

The object I'm posting has a child collection of another complex type and the way I format my id's for the model binder is as follows: <div class="childContainer" > <!-- There's one of these for each property for each child collection item --> <%= Html.TextBox("ChildCollectionName[0].ChildPropertyName", /* blah blah */ ) %> <%= Html.TextBox("ChildCollectionName[0].OtherChildPropertyName", /* blah blah */ ) %> <!-- ... --> </div> This gets rendered as <div class="childContainer" > <input id="ChildCollectionName[0]_ChildPropertyName" ... /> <input id="ChildCollectionName[0]_OtherChildPropertyName" ... /> ... </div> <div class="childContainer" > <input id="ChildCollectionName[1]_ChildPropertyName" ... /> <input id="ChildCollectionName[1]_OtherChildPropertyName" ... /> ... </div> For each entry in the chlid collection. This collection is dynamically created in the form using jQuery, so entries can be added, removed etc. and whenever there's an operation on the collection I need to update the indexes so that it's bound correctly on the server side. What's the best way to replace all the html input id's when I'm updating the index within the child e.g. replace all [*] -- [N] where N is the correct index. using jQuery / JavaScript ? I have something coded now, but its buggy and I think there is a simpler solution. Also, if you have an easier way to identify the child collection I'll take any advice on that as well. Thanx!

  • Multiple checkbox values search javascript

    - by JV10
    I have a list of keywords, and I've created a checkbox for each. My template has a form wrapping the content, so I can't have a nested form around the checkbox list. How can I send the selected checkbox values to my search results page? The form that wraps the content doesn't have any actions or methods applied: <form id="BoostMasterForm" runat="server"> This the HTML markup of my checkbox list: <div class="checkboxes"> <ul> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="one"> <label>one</label> </li> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="two"> <label>two</label> </li> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="three"> <label>three</label> </li> </ul> <input type="submit" value="Submit"/> </div> How can I use javascript or jQuery to submit the values of the multiple checkbox selections and on submit action them to the following URL: '/imagery/image-search.aspx' The resulting URL for a search where option 1 and 3 are submitted should be: '/imagery/image-search.aspx?search=one%20three' I'm using this javascript that I found on another post, however I need it to append the form an the action and the method. My website is ASP, where this post is for a PHP site: Sending multiple checkbox options $('.options').click(function() { var selectedItems = new Array(); $(".checkboxes input:checkbox[name=search]:checked").each(function() {selectedItems.push($(this).val());}); var data = selectedItems.join('|'); $("#opts").val(data); }); If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated. Cheers, JV

  • JQuery - Pass variables to PHP script via AJAX call and then display file

    - by hfidgen
    Hiya, I'm trying to generate Outlook event files for my events, doing so on the fly as and when someone requests it by pressing a link on the page. Here's what i've got so far, but I can't find out how to get the browser to download the content which is returned. I know how I could do this if I sent everything via _GET, but I'd prefer to do it via _POST, hence I'm going down this route.. Any thoughts? Thanks! I got this code from phppro.org tutorials site and i tried to run it. It gives Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() [function.mysql-real-escape-string]: A link to the server could not be established. .... Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() [function.mysql-real-escape-string]: Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO).... I went to php.net and look it up "Note: A MySQL connection is required before using mysql_real_escape_string() otherwise an error of level E_WARNING is generated, and FALSE is returned. If link_identifier isn't defined, the last MySQL connection is used." My questions are: 1-why they put single quotation around mysql_real_escape_string ? 2-They should establish a connection first, then use the $filter array statement with mysql_real_escape_string ?

  • ASP.Net MVC Ajax form with jQuery validation

    - by Tomas Lycken
    I have an MVC view with a form built with the Ajax.BeginForm() helper method, and I'm trying to validate user input with the jQuery Validation plugin. I get the plugin to highlight the inputs with invalid input data, but despite the invalid input the form is posted to the server. How do I stop this, and make sure that the data is only posted when the form validates? My code The form: <fieldset> <legend>leave a message</legend> <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("Post", new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "GBPostList", InsertionMode = InsertionMode.InsertBefore, OnSuccess = "getGbPostSuccess", OnFailure = "showFaliure" })) { %> <div class="column" style="width: 230px;"> <p> <label for="Post.Header"> Rubrik</label> <%= Html.TextBox("Post.Header", null, new { @style = "width: 200px;", @class="text required" }) %></p> <p> <label for="Post.Post"> Meddelande</label> <%= Html.TextArea("Post.Post", new { @style = "width: 230px; height: 120px;" }) %></p> </div> <p> <input type="submit" value="OK!" /></p> </fieldset> The JavaScript validation: $(document).ready(function() { // for highlight var elements = $("input[type!='submit'], textarea, select"); elements.focus(function() { $(this).parents('p').addClass('highlight'); }); elements.blur(function() { $(this).parents('p').removeClass('highlight'); }); // for validation $("form").validate(); }); EDIT: As I was getting downvotes for publishing follow-up problems and their solutions in answers, here is also the working validate method... function ajaxValidate() { return $('form').validate({ rules: { "Post.Header": { required: true }, "Post.Post": { required: true, minlength: 3 } }, messages: { "Post.Header": "Please enter a header", "Post.Post": { required: "Please enter a message", minlength: "Your message must be 3 characters long" } } }).form(); }

  • Not able to get siblings value from table row

    - by Sullan
    Hi All, I am trying to get values from adjacent columns, when a radio button is clicked for that row. I'm able to do so, but the problem I'm facing, when there are more elements in the radio button column, then i am getting null values(i.e 2nd row is not working). • Format form fields for bootstrap using rails+nokogiri

    - by user1116573
    I have the following in an initializer in a rails app that uses Twitter bootstrap so that it removes the div.field_with_errors that rails applies when validation fails on a field but also the initializer adds the help/validation text after the erroneous input field: require 'nokogiri' ActionView::Base.field_error_proc = Proc.new do |html_tag, instance| html = %(<div class="field_with_errors">#{html_tag}</div>).html_safe form_fields = [ 'textarea', 'input', 'select' ] elements = Nokogiri::HTML::DocumentFragment.parse(html_tag).css("label, " + form_fields.join(', ')) elements.each do |e| if e.node_name.eql? 'label' html = %(#{e}).html_safe elsif form_fields.include? e.node_name if instance.error_message.kind_of?(Array) html = %(#{e}<span class="help-inline">&nbsp;#{instance.error_message.join(',')}</span>).html_safe else html = %(#{e}<span class="help-inline">&nbsp;#{instance.error_message}</span>).html_safe end end end html end This works fine but I also need to apply the .error class to the surrounding div.control-group for each error. My initializer currently gives the following output: <div class="control-group"> <label class="control-label" for="post_message">Message</label> <div class="controls"> <input id="post_message" name="post[message]" required="required" size="30" type="text" value="" /><span class="help-inline">&nbsp;can't be blank</span> </div> </div> but I need something adding to my initializer so that it adds the .error class to the div.control-group like so: <div class="control-group error"> <label class="control-label" for="post_message">Message</label> <div class="controls"> <input id="post_message" name="post[message]" required="required" size="30" type="text" value="" /><span class="help-inline">&nbsp;can't be blank</span> </div> </div> The solution will probably need to allow for the fact that each validation error could have more than one label and input that are all within the same div.control-group (eg radio buttons / checkboxes / 2 text fields side by side). I assume it needs some sort of e.at_xpath() to find the div.control-group parent and add the .error class to it but I'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone help? PS This may all be possible using the formtastic or simple_form gems but I'd rather just use my own html if possible. EDIT If I put e['class'] = 'foo' in the if e.node_name.eql? 'label' section then it applies the class to the label so I think I just need to find the parent tag of e and then apply an .error class to it but I can't figure out what the xpath would be to get from label to its div.control-group parent; no combination of dots, slashes or whatever seems to work but xpath isn't my strong point.

  • jQuery - Show field based on value of a type-hidden on refresh.

    - by Sebhael
    Hello, I'm trying to create something in jQuery and having a bit of problems with it. I'm not too adept on the framework, so I'm sure this is all wrong. Anyways, the ultimate goal is a full form that contains 3 radio buttons - depending on the value of the button, a LI is shown. I have all of that done, but my problem is coming with validation. If something fails then the page is reloaded and the div that was selected doesn't show without clicking another radio first, then back to the original. This process is basically the same as someone came up with here. Here's what I got so far. HTML <li> <label> License (radio) </label> <label for="commercial" class="checkBox"> Commercial </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="commercial" id="commercial" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'commercial'); ?> /> <label for="abandonware" class="checkBox"> Abandonware </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="abandonware" id="abandonware" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'abandonware'); ?> /> <label for="freeware" class="checkBox"> Freeware </label> <input type="radio" name="license" value="freeware" id="freeware" class="checkBox" <?php echo set_radio('license', 'freeware'); ?> /> </li> This is followed by three LI's that contain id="commercial, abandonware, and freeware" and class="licenseli" My jQuery is, as said, something from here. $('li.licenseli').hide(); $('input[name=license]:radio').change(function(){ var Type = $(this).val(); // Get value of radio $('li.licenseli').slideUp(); // Hide non-selected $('li#'+Type).slideDown(); // Show Selected }); So what I need help with is I have a hidden input that retrieves the value of the radio box from validation - I want to take this value (or the radio's if possible?) and have the original selected option's LI already visible.

  • Sending string to wcf service using jquery ajax. why can i only send strings of numbers?

    - by Robodude
    Hi Guys, For some reason, I'm only able to pass strings containing numbers to my web service when using jquery ajax. This hasn't been an issue so far because I was always just passing IDs to my wcf service. But I'm trying to do something more complex now but I can't figure it out. In my interface: [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] DataTableOutput GetDataTableOutput(string json); My webservice: public DataTableOutput GetDataTableOutput(string json) { DataTableOutput x = new DataTableOutput(); x.iTotalDisplayRecords = 9; x.iTotalRecords = 50; x.sColumns = "1"; x.sEcho = "1"; x.aaData = null; return x; } Javascript/Jquery: var x = "1"; $.ajax({ type: "POST", async: false, url: "Services/Service1.svc/GetDataTableOutput", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: x, dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { //alert(XMLHttpRequest.status); //alert(XMLHttpRequest.responseText); } }); The above code WORKS perfectly. But when I change x to "t" or even to "{'test':'test'}" I get a Error 400 Bad Request error in Firebug. Thanks, John EDIT: Making some progress! data: JSON.stringify("{'test':'test'}"), Sends the string to my function! EDIT2: var jsonAOData = JSON.stringify(aoData); $.ajax({ type: "POST", async: false, url: sSource, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: "{'Input':" + jsonAOData + "}", dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { //alert(XMLHttpRequest.status); //alert(XMLHttpRequest.responseText); } }); EDIT3: I modified the code block I put in EDIT2 up above. Swapping the " and ' did the trick! $.ajax({ type: "POST", async: false, url: sSource, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: '{"Input":' + jsonAOData + '}', dataType: "json", success: function (msg) { }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { //alert(XMLHttpRequest.status); //alert(XMLHttpRequest.responseText); } }); However, I have a new problem: public DataTableOutput GetDataTableOutput(DataTableInputOverview Input) { The input here is completely null. The values I passed from jsonAOData didn't get assigned to the DataTableInputOverview Input variable. :(
