• Change my MX record on my server to google MX?

  Hi. I got a windows server 2008 where I host a site, now I decided to have the email on google apps. I did add the MX records I get from them to my DNS settings on the server but with no luck. I recently started doing server stuff so I did like this. Server Manager / Roles / DNS Server / DNS / SERVERNAME / MYDOMAIN / Forward Lookup / New MX Host or child domain: What goes here? FQDN: here is my domain name, i think because I named the ns my domain? FQDN MX: here is the google MX record I got from them MSP: 10 I have no Idea where I go wrong but I thought I would ask you guys if any of you can maybe give me some tips on what to look for or any newbee mistake I do that you see from this little info. I really appreciate all help I could get on this.

• Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

  Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike). • SVN problems after migration with CVS2SVN

  We´ve migrated from CVS on AIX to SVN on Linux via CVS2SVN. The migration seems to have went well but when working in SVN we get a lot of Tree Conflicts that doesn´t seem to be conflicts at all? Looking at the revision graphs, one can see that the graph for e.g. trunk and a branch isn´t the same, i.e. they contain different sets of revisions of the file. Either of the 3 ways to resolve this conflict when merging in TortoiseSVN leaves the revision graphs separate, they cannot be "melted" together. Could it be that CVS2SVN didn´t understand that a file in different branches is the same even if the file system path is the same? Anyone who has experienced this? Thanks, Bjorn

  Hi! I need to insert a Flash movie in a Visual Basic 2008 express form and send parameters to the movie, but am a newbie to VB. The flash movie will plot points sent by VB in a graph. I tried to insert the Shockwave Flash control in the form but cannot find it anywhere. So I inserted the webbrowser control, which I understand can be used to a similar purpose. But how would I send the values of X and Y (coordinates to plot in Flash) to the flash swf? Thanks for any help!

  Hi, I'm using flot library to show plot graph. I need to show the legend in a separate div. Quoted from flot api. If you want the legend to appear somewhere else in the DOM, you can specify "container" as a jQuery object/expression to put the legend table into. So i wrote the legend options as below. "legend":{"show":true,"container":"jQuery("#placeholder")"}} Unfortunately it is not showing anything? is this the correct way of writing legend option? One good thing is it not showing default legend. so i guess the problem is with way i wrote the container . Any thoughts? Thanks

• Have SkyDrive not sync some subfolders of "SkyDrive"

  I am working with SkyDrive for a while now and it is GREAT! The only downside is that I am syncing my laptop and my desktop and that they don't have the same files. Example: For recording, I have Cubase installed on my laptop. This programme creates a folder "Cubase LE" in "My Documents". "My Documents" is being sync'd. This means, that on my desktop a folder will appear, named "Cubase LE". But it is not needed there at all! So what I'm looking for is an option to disable some folders from being sync'd. Can this be done? Like, right-clicking on a folder and selecting an option "Don't sync with SkyDrive". Thanks.

  Hello All, I am doing dynamic plotting using core plot library and i have placed that plot on UIScrollView so that i can scroll the plot. Now i want to do Pinch Zooming on that, means when i m doing pinch zooming that that part where i have pinched will be zoomed,other part will also be zoomed but we can see certain par of the graph at one time so wherever i have pinched that part will be shown in zoomed state in focused view and when i am doing scrolling i can see other part also in a zoom state.   I want to write a shell script which will attach to a named tmux session, select a window (or pane) in that session and run a command in that selected window (or pane). How do I do this from a bash script? I know tmux new-window -n:mywindow 'exec something' allows you to send commands to a freshly created window. But I need something like tmux select-window -t:0 'my command' I suppose I could use send-keys but seems like their should be something that takes a command or list of commands that get run.

• Multiple gcc on Mac OS X

  I did a port install for gcc version 4.7.1 (MacPorts gcc47 4.7.1_2) I named the executable as g+ and placed it in one my $PATH. I use gcc 4.7.1 when I need c++11 standard. I haven't changed the original g++ so as not messup XCode. I am using eclipse-cdt and running the make all from the window. • Linux Mint does not start after renaming home directory

  I am new to linux and was just trying to rename the only directory in home from rk to rhk. I messed up the whole thing and the settings. Created some new thing named rhk which I can't remember as it got all messed up and Now I am getting nothing after Linux Mint 10(julia) boots up - no start menu, no panel, no taskbar nothing. I tried to work in the recovery mode and got some(downloaded) 216mb of something(in the repair broken packages) hoping that it might help but didn't help. Moreover whenver I have booted in it shows messages like Could not update ICEauthority file /home/rk./.ICEauthority there is a problem with the configuration server. (usr/lib/libconfig24/gconfsanitycheck2 exited with status 256) The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID: GNOME_mintMenu" The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID: GNOME_IndicatorApplet" Naulitis could not create the following reqiured folders: /home/rk/Desktop, /home/rk/. Naulitis Moreover Alt+F2 gives Run application or run with file and nothing seems to be working.

• how do I import a targa sequence as a composition in after effects cs4 ?

  I am a complete n00b with After Effects now, but I want to achieve something basic. I have a sequence of TARGA(.tga) files named alphanumerically(name_0000, where 0000 is the frame). I want to import those as a composition. What I'm after is having each .tga file siting in the timeline in sequence. I tried File Import File, selected the first, then selected the last, holding Shift, and ticked sequence, but I cannot select Composition from that Dialog, I can only select Footage and I don't knwow why. Hints ?

This is on Server 2008 R2, my SQL database (on localhost) instance is named SQLEXPRESS. There is an instance of SQL Express 2008 on the system (hence client 10.0). The database is configured to use a trusted connection, and the .net desktop software deployed on our network PCs is able to access the database without any problem. Am I missing something obvious here, I've done a fair amount of searching for this error message, and haven't found anything that has been particularly useful so far.

• Need help setting up OpenLDAP on OSX Mountain Lion

  I'm trying to get OpenLDAP manually configured on OSX Mountain Lion. I'd prefer to do it manually instead of installing OSX server, but if that's the only option (i.e., OpenLDAP on OSX isn't meant to be used without server) then I'll just install it. I've seen guides that mostly just say to change the password in slapd.conf and then start the server and it should work. However, whenever I try to do anything with the client it tells me this: ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49) I've tried encrypting the password as well as leaving it plain it doesn't seem to matter. The version is 2.4.28 and I've read as of 2.4 OpenLDAP uses slapd.d directories, but that doesn't seem to be the case in OSX. There was mention of an 'olcRootPW' I should use (instead of 'rootpw' in slapd.conf), but I only found that in a file named slapd.ldif. So ... I'm really confused. Has anyone got OpenLDAP working on OSX Moutain Lion without the server tools?

• Implementation of a general-purpose object structure (property bag)

  We need to implement some general-purpose object structure, much like an object in dynamic languages, that would give us a possibility of creating the whole object graph on-the-fly. This class has to be serializable and somehow user friendly. So far we have made some experiments with class derived from Dictionary<string, object> using the dot notation path to store properties and collections in the object tree. We have also find an article that implements something similar, but it doesn't seem to fit completely into our picture either. Do you know about some good implementations / libraries that deal with a similar problem or do you have any (non-trivial) ideas that could help us with our own implementation ? Also, I probably have to say that we are using .NET 3.5, so we can't take advantage of the new features in .NET 4.0 like dynamic type etc. (as far as I know it's also not possible to use any subset of it in .NET 3.5 solution).

• CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

  When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.   I have a user named 'user' which I use to login to the ftp of my website. However, this presents me with a problem. If I want to allow my user to access to ftp, I have to typ the following: chown -R user:ftpusers /var/www/ By doing this, my website is no longer available when surfing to it. To make it available again, I have to typ the following command: chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/ the user 'user' is in both the ftpusers and www-data group. How can I fix this so I wouldn't have to typ this anymore? I'm using apache2 and vsftpd on ubuntu

  I'd like to implement a rolling graph showing new users by day over the last 7 days using Seer. Anyone done this or similar with Seer? Anyone smarter than me able to explain this after looking at the Seer sample page (linked above)?

• Update mysql database with arpwatch textfile database

  I'm looking to keep arpwatch entries in a mysql database to crossreference with other information I'm storing based on mac addresses. I've manually imported the arpwatch database into my mysql database, but being a novice with databases I'm not sure what the best way to continually update the database with new entries without creating duplicates would be. None of the fields can be unique, as even the time is duplicated frequently. I'm not interested in the actual arpwatch events like flip flop or new station, just the mac/ip/time pairings. Would a simple bash (or sql) shell script do the trick? Would it be possible to make the mac address plus the time be a composite key of some sort? the database is called utility, table is arpwatch, columns are mac, ip, time a seperate table named 'hosts' with columns mac, ip, type, hostname, location, notes has mac as the primary key. This table will correlate different ip addresses that a mac had over time using the arpwatch column initial import was done with MySQL Workbench using INSERT INTO commands with creative search and replace on the text file

• Launch Apple's Stocks app, with a particular stock selected

  I would like to launch Apple's Stocks app to show information for a particular stock, on a non-jailbroken phone. I'm not interesting in how to get a quote or graph a stock myself, just opening Stocks.app. I was hoping that the Stocks app would have a custom URL format, so opening a URL like stocks://AAPL would do the trick. But I haven't found anything documenting such a scheme, and suspect it doesn't exist. Any other ideas, or is it impossible to integrate with the native Stocks app?

Recursion is working but forwarding is not working. can u guide me to set it. i've given the following in the options: options { directory "c:\named\zones"; allow-transfer { none; }; forward only; forwarders { 8.8.8.8 ; }; recursion no; }; is the format for forwarding correct in the above. if not what is the format. Am i to give any port number in the forwarders line? Does forwarding have any particular port number? Thank You in advance....

• PHP page load seems to be requesting itself and misinterpreting the result

  I'm working on a messy PHP page by another developer and I was analyzing the resource view in the Webkit developer tools and noticed that the page (index.php) makes an HTTP requests for itself and then interprets the results as an image despite it being sent with the text/html header. Because of this it throws the warning: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. Looking at the time graph the call comes after the <head> because it has already requested images for the body. Sometimes there are even two 'bad' requests. Can anyone explain what might be happening and/or suggest how to fix this? Could these be related to PHP includes?

• Good default for XDG_RUNTIME_DIR?

  The XDG Base Directory Specification is a very interesting spec for user directories. It also provides good default values, except for XDG_RUNTIME_DIR. Now I am writing a software that needs to create named pipes. It is a per-user client-server framework (there is a FIFO for the server and a FIFO per client). If XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is not defined, I am currently using a per-user subdirectory in /tmp — but it does not ensure all the specified conditions (viz. the paragraph starting with "The lifetime of the directory MUST be bound to the user being logged in…") Is /tmp/myserver-$USER good enough? Edit I saw elsewhere a few suggestions: . is quite unsatisfactory (at least because it is not an absolute path). I also saw /var/run/user/$USER — not bad, but that directory does not exist (at least on my box running a Debian testing)
