  • jQuery Validator's "required" not working when value is set at statup

    Hello, I have a problem with jQuery Validator. I want to use "required" property on a text input. It doesn't work when input has set value attribute by HTML code (tested on Firefox (3.5), and on IE 8 - on IE it works a bit better). Story: 1. Page loads; 2. value is cleared; 3. focus is changed. 4. Nothing happens but the error message should be displayed; 5. getting back to the field and typing some characters. 6. changing focus; 7. getting back to the field; 8. clearing the field. 9. Error is displayed even before leaving the field.     I've an access database table with 3 fields : Purchase date Warranty time Warranty expiry Warranty time has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in it which corresponds to years. How can I auto-populate the 'Warranty expiry' field (which is a date field) by looking at the 'Purchase date' and then adding on the 'Warranty time' (warranty time will be 1 = 365 days, 2 = 730 days, etc)?

    So I am trying to change the number of fields in my dataset in SSRS and the refresh button is not picking up the added field from the SQL server. The query is definitely returning the correct data, as I have double checked in the server engine itself. Also, I have tried manually adding the field using the SSRS menu, but as soon as I execute it disappears. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

    I recently played with MongoDB in Rails using Mongoid. I like the ability to define attributes for models within the model file (as opposed to in migrations): class Person include Mongoid::Document field :name, :type => String field :birthday, :type => Date end For projects that cannot use a schema-less database, does a similar feature exist? Any gems or plugins that generate schemas from a similar syntax would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi! I have view with text field -- subclassed from UIAlertView. In the textFieldShouldReturn delegate I call resignFirstResponder for text field and dismissWithClickedButtonIndex for view. On the 3.x version everything fine, but on 4.0 keyboard still present on screen after view dismissing and doesn't disappear while app running. App compiled for 3.0 target and tested on 4.0 iPhone OS. One more thing - sometimes after dismissing alert - Done button on the keyboard replaces with Return button.. Any suggestions ?

    Hi, I want to use email for signing in, and to allow users to have similar names. One way to do this is to rename login/username field to something different. However, I want to do it just by setting up authlogic. What must be done to avoid username validation without renaming the field?

Our new project will born under symfony2 so we're trying some silly - but "real" - stuff (like authentication from db, submit data from a form and persist it to db and so on..) The problem As far i know, learnt from symfony2 "book" that i found on the site (you can find it here), there is an "automated" way for creating and rendering forms: 1) Build the form up into a controller in this way $form = $this->createFormBuilder($task) ->add('task','text'), ->add('dueDate','date'), ->getForm(); return $this->render('pathToBundle:Controller:templateTwig', array('form'=>$form->createview()); 2) Into templateTwig render the template {{ form_widget(form) }} // or single rows method 3) Into a controller (the same that have a route where you can submit data), take back submitted information if($rquest->getMethod()=='POST'){ $form->bindRequest($request); /* and so on */ } Return to scenario Our graphic employee don't want to access controllers, write php and other stuff like those. UPDATE It seems that Symfony2 use a different convention for form's field name and lookup once you've submitted that. In particular, if my form's name is addUser and a field is named userName, the field's name will be AddUser[username] so maybe it have a "dynamic" lookup method that will extract form's name, field's name, concat them and lookup for values. Is it possible?
