• backlight doesn't work on acer 5732z tried everything I can find

  Ok if you can solve my problem you're really really good. I want to run ubuntu 12.04 on my acer aspire 5732z I know (from research) that these computer's have issues with the backlight on ubuntu. So I tried a couple of solutions: The "sudo lightdm restart" method. I get no change at all. The "sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.B=30" method. This so far has been the most effective, I first tried it in the F1 console right away I get the screen back, problem is going back to the desktop it goes back to being black. So I tried it from a terminal window and it works as well but as soon as I unplug my external monitor the screen turns black again and doesn't come back. If I plug the monitor back in the screen stays black and the only thing I see is the mouse pointer. From here I go back into console (which I am able to see) and reboot from there. The "sudo sed -i 's/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=Linux"/g' /etc/default/grub" method. This one I got no instant change and after reboot still no change. I'm open to pretty much any suggestions you may have.

• Anyway I can trick Carbonite into backing up an external hard drive?

  I use carbonite to back up my PC (Windows XP). We were running low on disk space on our home PC (down to 15 gig) so I went out and purchased an external hard drive. However, Carbonite will not back it up. I just want the external drive to be extra disk space. From their FAQ: The current version of Carbonite backs up only the files that reside on permanent hard drives on your computer. It will not back up network drives, external drives, and NAS (network accessed storage) drives. If there are files on a remote drive that you wish to include in your Carbonite backup, you should copy the files to a folder on your local hard drive. If the files are on a shared network drive, you could install Carbonite on the computer on which the network shared drive physically exists, and back the files up directly from that computer. Check back soon for a Carbonite service plan that will allow you to back up your external drives.

• Cordova - Scrolling with a fixed header and footer (ios)

  Using Cordova (phonegap) & bootstrap to make a mobile application, testing on IOS for now. Getting an issue with a header and footer bar that are fixed with scrollable content in the middle. When tapping to scroll, the header/footer bar moves down or up with the content but then snaps back to place as soon as the scrolling completes.   I've been following the saga of Python 3.x and have watched the 3.x features gradually getting back-ported to the 2.x line. Most of the libraries I use haven't been ported and some (e.g. Twisted) seem covertly or overtly hostile to 3.x to varying degrees. At any rate, there has been very little movement towards compatible versions of many of them. Expecially the larger ones. So, my question is, with all the features that have been backported, what is still available in 3.x that's NOT been back-ported? It's pretty easy to find what has been backported, but not what's left. Right now, porting to 3.x just seems like all pain, and I can't see the gain; maybe an "Only in 3.x" list would let me see the light... Thanks, Stu

  I am using mpmovieplayer in my application.I have a button for playing movie witch has an image of play.But when mpmovieplayer plays movie i can see that button on movie player's overlying controlls like when i pause movie i see my play button instead of movie player's default button.Also i have customized navigation bar and i can see that navbar when movie plays instead of default nav bar.I tried hiding button when playing movie but it didn't worked.Does Someone knows about this issue? also i am having cropping of video issues does someone knows about how to handle video orientation i mean i want full video in any orientation recorded video.Thanks

  This should be easy but its got me stumped. I've got a button on each row of a table cell. The button is to delete the file associated with that row. I have an image that indicates if the file is present on the iPhone or not present. When the user presses the button, the target action method (showDeleteSheet) then calls a UIActionSheet with a variable to give it the indexPath of the row pressed. Then the user presses delete on the action sheet and the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method deletes the file. Now, I need to update the button's background image property to change the image in the appropriate table cell to the not downloaded image. This can be done in either the button's target action method or the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method. • JavaScript code inside UpdatePanel

  Ok: I've got an UpdatePanel on an aspx page that contains a single Placeholder. Inside this placeholder I'm appending one of a selection of usercontrols depending on certain external conditions (this is a configuration page). In each of these usercontrols there is a bindUcEvents() javascript function that binds the various jQuery and javascript events to buttons and validators inside the usercontrol. The issue I'm having is that the usercontrol's javascript is not being recognised. Normally, javascript inside an updatepanel is executed when the updatepanel posts back, however none of this code can be found by the page (I've tried running the function manually via firebug's console, but it tells me it cannot find the function). • Styling related issue in IE8

  I am using a background image to display as a button. The button shows up well in all versions of firefox, chrome, opera etc. However, the image fails to render itself in IE8. Only the image is not being shown, some of the other class styling gets applied such as width, height etc. Even more confounding is that in another page(though a different class and style sheet), an image of similar proportions gets displayed in similar usage. The image format is JPG. I'm copy-pasting the valid style attributes for both cases as shown by firebug below. • AS11 Oracle B2B Sync Support - Series 1

  Synchronous message support has been enabled in Oracle B2B 11G. This would help customers to send the business message and receive the corresponding business response synchronously. We would like to keep this blog entry as three part series, first one would carry Oracle B2B configuration related details followed by 'how it can be consumed and utilized in an enterprise' using composites backed model. And, the last one would talk about more sophisticated seeded support built on Oracle B2B platform (Note: the last one is still in description phase and ETA hasn't been finalized yet). Details: In an effort to enable synchronous processing in Oracle B2B, we provided a platform using the existing 'callout' mechanism. In this case, we expect the 'callout' attached to the agreement to deliver incoming business message (inbound) to back-end application and get the corresponding business response from back-end and deliver it to Oracle B2B as its output. The output of 'callout' would be processed as outbound message and the same will be attached as a response for the inbound message. Requirements to enable Sync Support: Outbound side: Outbound Agreement - to send business message request Inbound Agreement - to receive business message response Inbound side: Inbound Agreement - to receive business message request Outbound Agreement - to send business message response Agreement Level Callout - to deliver the inbound request to back-end and get the corresponding business response This feature is supported only for HTTP based transport to exchange messages with Trading Partners. One may initiate the outbound message (enqueue) using any of the available Transports in Oracle B2B. Configuration: Outbound side: Please add "syncresponse=true" as "Additional Transport Header" parameter for remote Trading Partner's HTTP delivery channel configuration. This would enable Oracle B2B to process the HTTP response as inbound message and deliver the same to back-end application. All other configuration related to Agreement and Document setup remain same. Inbound side: There is no change in Agreement and Document setup. To enable "Sync Support", you need to build a 'callout' that takes the responsibility of delivering inbound message to back-end and get the corresponding business response from the back-end and attach the same as its output. Oracle B2B treats the output of 'callout' as outbound message and deliver it to Trading Partner as synchronous HTTP response. The requests that needs to processed synchronously should be received by "syncreceiver" (http://:/b2b/syncreceiver) endpoint in Oracle B2B. Exception Handling: Existing Oracle B2B exception handling applies to this use case as well.
