• FFMPEG Segfault Solutions

  I'm trying to convert a bunch of movies into h.264 mp4's using FFMPEG. These movies are sourced from various portable camcorders such as the Flip Mino HD and the Kodak ZI8. One issue I'm having with video from the ZI8 is it seems to be causing FFMPEG to segfault.   Okay, So I am writing an OpenCart extension that must allow Arabic characters when posting data. Whenever I post ????? the print_r($_POST) returns with this: u0645u0631u062du0628u0627 I check the HTML header and it has this: <meta charset="UTF-8" /> I checked the PHP file that triggers all SQL queries and it has this code: mysql_query("SET NAMES 'utf8'", $this->link); mysql_query("SET CHARACTER SET utf8", $this->link); mysql_query("SET CHARACTER_SET_CONNECTION=utf8", $this->link); This is in my form tag: <form action="<?php echo $action; ?>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" id="form" accept-charset="utf-8"> I can't think of what else I am doing wrong. The rest of the OpenCart framework supports UTF8 and arabic characters. It is just in this instance where I can't post anything arabic? Could someone please help me? Many Thanks Peter

I have my Legacy Url and the actual Action, controller and parameters it is supposed to use. But the issue is there is already a SEO friendly route for these Action and Controller. so I want to redirect this legacy URL to that friendly route. So I am planning to generate a link like what Html.ActionLink does and want to move permanently. Can anyone help me in generating this link???

  I am thinking of designing a web site having multiple related services. For every action of the user in a service there will be some computation going on in each of the other services. I want to display the service in action (chosen by the user) in the middle of the page in enlarged mode and rest of the services as small sized (shrunk) versions around the enlarged mode. The services which are shown in the shrunk version, should actually show what is happening in that service, at run time as if that was the chosen service. A close match to this sort of behavior I know is in Reliance BigTV, where all the small images of all the channels will be going on, and we can choose the one that we want to watch. After choosing that one image will become big and occupy the screen. Please, let me know if I can do some thing like this using css, html, ajax & php.

  Im trying to get an 'add to cart' button to work. When I use <%= button_to "Add to Cart", :acton = "add_to_cart", :id = @product % and then click the button, I get a URL that puts the action after the ID, like this: 'http://localhost:3000/store/show/1?acton=add_to_cart.' The cart page does not load. What I need is a URL that looks like this: 'http://localhost:3000/store/add_to_cart/1'. I can get that result (and the cart to work) if I don't use 'button_to': <% form_for @product, :url = {:action = "add_to_cart", :id = @product} do |f| % <% end % But, what the heck? Why can't I use 'button_to'?

It is basically a jobs site with 3 levels: 1) Users - No registration and can view all jobs posted on the website 2) Posters - Need to register and login to post adverts 3) Admin - Need to register and login to post adverts and review postings before they go live Would you suggest I use the same Jobs controller for the three levels I mention above?   I'm done some Googling, and I've found nothing. I'm scoping out writing a plugin for an editor I use, and I am wondering whether there is a way I can access the PHP documentation via an API? For instance, I'd like to get raw access to the information (besides the comments) located here: http://php.net/file_exists. php.net seemingly uses MediaWiki which provides an API. The tutorial provides the example URL, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=login&format=xml. This does not work for php.net, however (http://php.net/w/api.php?action=login&format=xml). I'm just looking for a little information on how to interface with the PHP documentation.

  I just started playing with Observable, Observer and it's update() method and I can't understand what should I do when different actions call notifyObservers(). I mean, my Observable class has a few different methods that call setChanged() and notifyObservers() in the end. Depending on the called method, some part of the UI (Swing) needs to be updated. However, there is only one update() method implemented in the Observer class. I though of passing something to the notifyObservers() method and then I can check the argument on update() but it doesn't seem feel like a good way to do it. Even if it did, what should I pass? A string with a short description of the action/method? And int, like an action/method code? Something else? What's the best way to handle this situation?

  Hi everyone, I have the following code to send data through a proxy using suds: import suds t = suds.transport.http.HttpTransport() proxy = urllib2.ProxyHandler({'http': 'http://192.168.3.217:3128'}) opener = urllib2.build_opener(proxy) t.urlopener = opener ws = suds.client.Client('http://xxxxxxx/web.asmx?WSDL', transport=t) req = ws.factory.create('ActionRequest.request') req.SerialNumber = 'asdf' req.HostName = 'hola' res = ws.service.ActionRequest(req) I don't know why, but it can be sending data above 2 or 3 minutes, or even more and it raises a "Gateway timeout" exception sometimes. If I don't use the proxy, the amount of time used is above 2 seconds or less. Here is the SOAP reply: (ActionResponse){ Id = None Action = "Action.None" Objects = "" } The proxy is running right with other requests through urllib2, or using normal web browsers like firefox. • Best Zend Framework architecture for large reporting site?

  I have a site of about 60 tabular report pages. Want to convert this to Zend. The report has two states: empty report and filled in with data report. Each report has its own set of input boxes and select drop downs to narrow down searches. You click on submit and it retrieves the data. Thats all each page does. Do I create 60 controllers with each one with default index action and getData action? All I have read online do not really describe how to architect a real site.

• Preserve data in .net mvc

  I am implementing a search module with result page support paging. The example provided by NerdDinner passes pagenumber as a parameter for the Index action, and the action uses the pagenumber to perform a query each time the user hit a different page number. My problem is that my search take many more criteria such as price, material, model number etc. than just simple pagenumber. Therefore, I would like to preserve the criteria after users' first submission, so that I only have to pass the pagenumber back and forth. Using ViewData is not possible because ViewData get cleared once it is sent to the View. Is there any good way to preserve the criteria data as I wish?

• host MVC app inside a website

  I have a website (not a web application- in visual studio you get two options-create a website/project) running on IIS 6.0. Now I want to develop few features in MVC architecture. So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0. The global.asax file which was in root folder I added the routing function- Shared Sub RegisterRoutes(ByVal routes As RouteCollection) routes.Ignore("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}") routes.Ignore("{resource}.aspx/{*pathInfo}") routes.MapPageRoute("Default4", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", "~/MVCDir", False, New RouteValueDictionary(New With {.controller = "Home", .action = "Index", .id = Mvc.UrlParameter.Optional})) End Sub * NOTE- If I write routes.ignoreRoute instead of routes,ignore it says- IgnoreRoute is not a member of System.Web.RoutingCollection* I called this routing function inside application_start function now when I run domain.com/home/index How to solve this problem? it says resource not found

• How to pass special characters so ASP.NET MVC can handle correctly query string data?

  Hello, I am using a route like this one: routes.MapRoute("Invoice-New-NewCustomer", "Invoice/New/Customer/New/{*name}", new { controller = "Customer", action = "NewInvoice" }, new { name = @"[^\.]*" }); There is an action which handles this route: public ActionResult NewInvoice(string name) { AddClientSideValidation(); CustomerViewData viewData = GetNewViewData(); viewData.InvoiceId = "0"; viewData.Customer.Name = name; return View("New", viewData); } When I call return RedirectToAction("NewInvoice", "Customer", new {name}); and name is equal to "The C# Guy", the "name" parameter is truncated to "The C". So my question is : What is the best way to handle this kind of special character with ASP.NET MVC? Thanks!

  I am trying to upload images via a form which sits in partial view using MVC. View Code: <form action="/Item/ImageUpload" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <%= Html.TextBox("ItemId",Model.ItemId) %> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <input type="submit" value="Add" /> </form> Action Code: public void ImageUpload(string ItemId, HttpPostedFileBase file) { // upload image // Add Image record to database // Associate Image record to Item record //Go back to existing view where the partial view sits RedirectToAction("Details/"+ItemId); } The Image is uploaded successful All the data manipulation are working as expected However instead of redirect to view "Item/Details/id", page went to "/Item/ImageUpload" I tried several different way of doing this including using jsonResultAction, but all failed in this same result. where did i do wrong, any ideas? thanks in advance

• jQuery UI split button toggle - toggle both parts of the button

  I would like to implement a toggle splitbutton with jQuery UI that would on toggle action change the style of the "dropdown" part as well (as seen in http://jsfiddle.net/8khz2/3/ - I'd like to appear it on 1st click as white, same as "Toggle" button does). Does anyone see a way to achieve that out of the box or only with CSS, without additional javascript code? Somehow I don't see an option doing it only with CSS, since I can not nest the "dropdown" button in "Toggle", since toggle part is checkbox: <input type="checkbox" id="toggle"/><label for="toggle">Toggle</label> <button id="select">Select an action</button> The jsfiddle example is based on: http://jqueryui.com/button/#splitbutton
