Is there a way to check that before replacing? I am using JavaScript if that matters.

    I have an R matrix named ddd. When I enter this, everything works fine: i <- 1 shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) The calls to Shapiro Wilk, Anderson Darling, and stem all work, and extract the same column. If I put this code in a "for" loop, the calls to Shapiro Wilk, and Anderson Darling stop working, while the the stem & leaf call and the print call continue to work. for (y in 7:10) { shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) } The decimal point is 1 digit(s) to the right of the | 0 | 0 0 | 899999 1 | 0 [1] 7 The same thing happens if I try and write a function. SW & AD do not work. The other calls do. I tried again, I put the div in to the query $query = "select * from example where category='<div id=\"test\">A</div>'"; Yes, It works. But when I did query on navicat, no results I got because there's spaces between A that is <div> and </div>.     I did an apt-get dist-upgrade, now everytime I do something using apt-get, e.g. installing something, it gives me that there are errors while handling the following packages: linux-image-extra-3.13.0-35-generic linux-image-generic linux-generic My system still works correctly, but is this normal? And what should I do? Should I do anything? Have I done the wrong thing by doing a dist-upgrade? (Beginner-like instructions please, I'm not an expert. Using Xubuntu 14.04.)

    I am developing a game that has a lot of platform generic pieces. I am wanting to separate out various pieces into static libraries and I would like to know what other devs do. I am considering targeting other platforms and I want to maintain an much platform neutrality as I can. I have a lot of generic level data in C++ classes. THinking all of the level data could go into a single static library. I have a lot of generic OpenGL code that I think could also go into a single static library. I am already using CMAKE for some and XCode 4.5 for the Apple specific pieces. What do other devs do to stay platform neutral? Does anyone use Eclipse instead of XCode and Visual Studio on Windows?

  • How do I get drivers working for an Nvidia GT560i on 12.04?

    I been using a test Xubuntu 12.04 LTS on my 64 bit workstation, because Ubuntu has dropped support for the nvidia graphic adapters my 10.04 LTS and I haven't been able to get them working. Now update manager has upgraded the kernel from 3.2.0-30-generic to 3.2.0-31-generic, and failed to produce a working nvidia module that the X server can load. Fortunately, when launching the 3.2.0-30-generic kernel, I still have use of the X server. Does anybody know a work-around or fix for this? I'm really worried, this is the last working Ubuntu distribution OS on the computer and I don't want to give up on Ubuntu. Details of problem here.

    What if one wants to apply a functon i.e. to each row of a matrix, but also wants to use as an argument for this function the number of that row. As an example, suppose you wanted to get the n-th root of the numbers in each row of a matrix, where n is the row number.   • Acer aspire 5735z wireless not working after upgrade to 11.10

    I cant get my wifi card to work at all after upgrading to 11.10 Oneiric. I'm not sure where to start to fix this. Ive tried using the additional drivers tool but this shows that no additional drivers are needed. Before my upgrade I had a drivers working for the Rt2860 chipset.   • Loosely coupled .NET Cache Provider using Dependency Injection

    I have recently been reading the excellent book “Dependency Injection in .NET”, written by Mark Seemann. I do not generally buy software development related books, as I never seem to have the time to read them, but I have found the time to read Mark’s book, and it was time well spent I think. Reading the ideas around Dependency Injection made me realise that the Cache Provider code I wrote about earlier (see http://geekswithblogs.net/Rhames/archive/2011/01/10/using-the-asp.net-cache-to-cache-data-in-a-model.aspx) could be refactored to use Dependency Injection, which should produce cleaner code. The goals are to: Separate the cache provider implementation (using the ASP.NET data cache) from the consumers (loose coupling). This will also mean that the dependency on System.Web for the cache provider does not ripple down into the layers where it is being consumed (such as the domain layer). Provide a decorator pattern to allow a consumer of the cache provider to be implemented separately from the base consumer (i.e. if we have a base repository, we can decorate this with a caching version). Although I used the term repository, in reality the cache consumer could be just about anything. Use constructor injection to provide the Dependency Injection, with a suitable DI container (I use Castle Windsor). The ASP.NET implementation of the ICacheProvider interface needs to live in a project that has a reference to system.web, typically this will be the root UI project, or it could be a separate project. The key thing is that the domain or data access layers do not need system.web references adding to them. It also means that my controllers do not have any knowledge of the caching taking place, as the DI container will simply inject the decorator instead of the root implementation of the repository. The first step is to implement a BlogRepository decorator, with the caching logic in it. Note that this can reside in the domain layer, as it does not require any knowledge of the data access methods. This will make the cache provider functionality available to the repository. I inject the parent IBlogRepository implementation (which has the actual data access code), via the constructor. This will allow the methods implemented in the parent to be called if nothing is found in the cache. I override each of the methods implemented in the repository, including those implemented in the generic BaseRepository. Each override of these methods follows the same pattern. It makes a call to the CacheProvider.Fetch method, and passes in the parentBlogRepository implementation of the method as the retrieval method, to be used if nothing is present in the cache. Configuring the Caching Repository in the DI Container The final piece of the jigsaw is to tell Castle Windsor to use the BlogRepositoryWithCaching implementation of IBlogRepository, but to inject the actual Data Access implementation into this decorator. You can test this by stepping through the code, and seeing that the DataAccess.BlogRepository code is only called if there is no data in the cache, or this has expired.   • How to remove a node based on contents of a subnode and then convert to CSV with headers intact

    I'm downloading a 10MB zipped XML file with wget, unzipping it to 40MB, trying to weed out test and expired entries (if the text of a certain node is "This is a test opportunity. Please DO NOT apply!" or if is in the past), and then convert to CSV. However, I get this error: PHP Notice: Array to string conversion in /home/morris/projects/grantsgov/xml2csv.php on line 46 I get Array errors because some entries in the XML file have more than one occurrence of a node (different text contents). The test entries are still present.
