    I have a text file that looks like this: value1 value2 value3 There are 32 million lines. Each line is terminated by a \n. The fields are not enclosed or delimited with any characters. I'm trying to import it into MySQL using this code, but it is not working: LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE 'data.txt' INTO TABLE `table` FIELDS TERMINATED BY '' ENCLOSED BY '' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' (`column1`) Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  • Best practice with respect to NPE and multiple expressions on single line

    I'm wondering if it is an accepted practice or not to avoid multiple calls on the same line with respect to possible NPEs, and if so in what circumstances. For example: getThis().doThat(); vs Object o = getThis(); o.doThat(); The latter is more verbose, but if there is an NPE, you immediately know what is null. However, it also requires creating a name for the variable and more import statements. So my questions around this are: Is this problem something worth designing around? Is it better to go for the first or second possibility? Is the creation of a variable name something that would have an effect performance-wise? Is there a proposal to change the exception message to be able to determine what object is null in future versions of Java ?

    Hi, I've more than one Handlers in an Activity. I create all the handlers in the onCreate() of the main activity. My understanding is the handlerMessage() method of each handler will never be called at the same time because all messages are put in the same queue (the Activity thread MessageQueue). Therefore, they will be executed in the order in which are put into the Queue. They will also be executed in the main activity thread.     I have one table let's say "xxx "in sql server 2000 . One .exe is inserting data into that table "xxx" through sql job. But once data is inserted , one stored procedure is reading the data from that "xxx table "and inserting/updating into other two tables and updating back the status into the same "xxx" table. Now, client says that multiple deadlocks are occuring on that "xxx" table . please kindly anyone sdvice me the resolution steps to be taken to resolve this deadlock issue and how to identify it step by step.............   • Generating Source Info For Flex BitmapData.

    Instead of populating the BitmapData class from an IMAGE. I would like to (within Actionscript) GENERATE some new BitmapData by capturing the Bitmap representing say, a TextArea component on the stage. In other words, sort of take a "screen capture" or "screenshot" of one of the components, and convert that into an image. Am I silly to even wonder if such a thing is feasible? Can an Air/Flex app "look at itself" in this way? Can it turn a datagrid or a canvas or a textinput into the corresponding image AS IF via screen capture? Even a hint in the right direction would be appreciated, Thanks In Advance.

    I'm using the Textpattern CMS to build a discussion site-- I have a firm grasp of XHTML and CSS, as well as Textpattern's template language, but PHP and Javascript are a bit beyond my cunning. On the input form to begin a new topic, users need to select a category from a list of over 5,000 options. Using the HTML select-type input element is very unwieldy, but it works. I would like to use some kind of Javascript magic to display a text-type input element that will read user input and display matches or autocomplete from the available categories, passing the required option's value into the appropriate database field. I've seen several autocomplete plugins for jquery, but the instructions presuppose that you understand how Javascript works. As I mentioned above, it's easy for me to generate the category list as a select-type input element, and I can hide that element using CSS. Is it possible to control select-list input using an autocomplete mechanism in a text-type input element? How would I do that?

    Hey Guys, having an issue with linq, I am basically doing the following but it is saying it is "UserProfile does not contain definition for Username" in the current context where I wrote "u.Username" but it does exist I have added UserProfile table to MyDbml.dbml and if I connect to another table it works fine.   • Persisting a single UISearchBar instance across 4 separate UITableViews

    Hi fellas, I'm in the midst of an iPhone app that needs to have 4 separate UITableView objects sharing access to one UISearchBar in the first section and first row of the aforementioned UITableView objects. I have tried to offset the UITableView's frame by 44 pixels, then adding the search bar as a subview of my UIViewController's view. That works, but I cannot use the table index to scroll up to the search bar, since it is not a cell in the tableview. I need to have the search bar in the table view itself. My goal is to have the same UISearchBar in the first section of multiple tableviews. Thanks so much.

  • Multiple children in single form in rails

    I have a model that has an arbitrary number of children entities. For simplicity lets call the entities Orders and Items. I would like to have a create Orders form where I input the order information, as well as add as many items as I want. If I click the "Add another item" button, a new set of form elements will be added to input the new data, amounts, etc.. I could hack this out in pure javascript, but I'm pretty sure there has to be a more magical, railsish way to do it, maybe with a partial view or something. I'm just a little too new to rails to know what it is. What is the best way to dynamically add the new form elements, and then to access them in the create controller?

    I have quite a few objects in my system that implement the PHP SPL Iterator interface. As I write them I also write tests. I know that writing tests is generally NOT a cut 'n paste job. But, when it comes to testing classes that implement Standard PHP Library interfaces, surely it makes sense to have a few script snippets that can be borrowed and dropped in to a Test class - purely to test that particular interface. It seems sensible to have these publicly available. So, I was wondering if you knew of any?

There might be 100,000 records each month so this will become more slow as time will pass. Does splitting data into two table will solve the problem? What other indexes should be there?
