  Hi I'm using ElementTree to parse out an xml feed from Kuler. I'm only beginning in python but am stuck here.   We have XML like so: <Example> <Node>Some text here <ChildNode>Child 1</ChildNode> <ChildNode>Child 2</ChildNode> </Node> </Example> We are using XmlDocument to parse this. When we have the XmlNode of the Node element, XmlNode.InnerText returns us this: "Some text hereChild 1Child2" How can we get the inner text of the Node element without the child nodes' inner text? We don't really want to use any Regex or string splitting to accomplish this. Note: We also don't want to switch to using a different set of classes to parse this XML, it would be too much of a code change.

  Is there anyway to have javascript run when a XSL sheet has been applied to an XML file by Javascript? I am using a JQuery plugin to apply the sheet to the xml but the javascript that is located inside of the XSL file will not run. I put the Javascript at the bottom of the file and it still does not run.. I can't seem to get an alert to even run?

I believe I need to specify a clientaccesspolicy.xml through either the socket server or the http://:80/clientaccesspolicy.xml path with the following option set args.SocketClientAccessPolicyProtocol = SocketClientAccessPolicyProtocol.Http I am not able to get this running. • XDocument unable to digest url in header if encountered twice

  Hi there, I am consuming an xml response from a government gateway which contains a url in its root node twice (being firstly xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.govtalk.gov.uk/CM/envelope" and also xmlns="http://www.govtalk.gov.uk/CM/envelope") XDocument will only parse this if I pull out the second one (the xmlns one) from the node. Is there some way I can prepare XDocument to digest this repeated URL without having to manipulate the incoming xml in any way? Thanks Paul

• C# XMLSerializer fails with List<T>

  Help... I'm using a singleton class to save all my settings info. It's first utilized by calling Settings.ValidateSettings(@"C:\MyApp") The problem I'm having is that 'List Contacts' is causing the xmlserializer to fail to write the settings file, or to load said settings. If I comment out the List then I have no problems saving/loading the xml file. What am I doing wrong...   Do you use a naming convention for your XML namespaces? And if so, what reasoning lies behind it. I was actually amazed that hardly anyone wrote about a naming convention for XML namespaces. Most namespaces I've seen have the format of http://example.org/<some identifier> or http://example.org/scheme/<some identifier>. But that really lacks structuring beyond the initial "company" identifier.

However, in Eclipse the build.xml file is flagged as having an error so my project no longer builds in Eclipse - it says that the default target ("help") doesn't exist (its in one of the Android build files referenced in build.xml and copmmand-line builds work just fine).   Hello folks! I do some XSLT-Transformation using Saxon HE 9.2 with the output later being unmarshalled by Castor 1.3.1. The whole thing runs with Java at the JDK 6. My XSLT-Transformation looks like this: <xsl:transform version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns="http://my/own/custom/namespace/for/the/target/document"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="no" /> <xsl:template match="/"> <ns:item> <ns:property name="id"> <xsl:value-of select="/some/complicated/xpath" /> </ns:property> <!-- ... more ... --> </xsl:template> So the thing is: if the XPath-expression /some/complicated/xpath evaluates to an empty sequence, the Saxon serializer writes <ns:property/> instead of <ns:property></ns:property>. This, however, confuses the Castor unmarshaller, which is next in the pipeline and which unmarshals the output of the transformation to instances of XSD-generated Java-code. So my question is: How can I tell the Saxon-serializer to output empty tags not as standalone tags? • Query an XmlDocument without getting a 'Namespace prefix is not defined' problem

  I've got an Xml document that both defines and references some namespaces. I load it into an XmlDocument object and to the best of my knowledge I create a XmlNamespaceManager object with which to query Xpath against. Problem is I'm getting XPath exceptions that the namespace "my" is not defined. How do I get the namespace manager to see that the namespaces I am referencing are already defined. Or rather how do I get the namespace definitions from the document to the namespace manager. Furthermore tt strikes me as strange that you have to provide a namespace manager to the document which you create from the documents nametable in the first place. Even if you need to hardcode manual namespaces why can't you add them directly to the document. Why do you always have to pass this namespace manager with every single query? What can't XmlDocument just know? • xslt help - my transform is not rendering correctly

  Hi All, I'm trying to apply an xlst transformation using the following file. The simple intent here is to make a list of station, then make a list of detectors at a station. This is a small piece of the XML. It would have multiple StationInventory elements. I'm using the data as the source for an asp:xml control and the xslt file as the transformsource. var service = new InternalService(); var result = service.StationInventory(); invXml.DocumentContent = result; invXml.TransformSource = "StationInventory.xslt"; invXml.DataBind(); Any tips are of course appreciated.
